Hi,
This trip we have a disbaled guest in our party who may have to use a wheelchair to get around some of the time, I just wondered if Disney cater well for this type of thing and how to we go about getting a wheelchair in the parks should we need it?

Thanks for the advice.

I can try and answer this for you. I have been to WDW numerous times as an escort too and with some handicapped friends. Disney does everything in it's reach to be helpful and supportive. I have never seen a place that will go the extra mile to help out as much as at WDW.

Wheelchairs are available for rent but if you think they might need one or usually do if a lot of walking is required then I would try and bring one from home. That is what I did and it was nice to know that it was right there when I needed it. Which really was everytime we went. WDW is just to big for handicapped people to traverse easily.

The rides pretty much all have access and they will and do help board and disembark. Wonderful place filled with wonderful people.

If you follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES Board, you will find everything you are asking. Near the top of the baord, there is a disABILITIES FAQs thread. That has info about the different places you can get a wheelchair, with the pluses and minuses of each one. That threa also has links to information about ride boarding.
