hi, I thought I would ask here first. I am going to Universal in December with my husband, 3 kids and my two aunts. My one aunt is 52 years old with Down Syndrome. She also has Parkinson's. She can't stand for a long length of time. We will have a wheelchair with us. I was kind of wondering if anyone knew how Universal was with disabilities. We will be staying on site so we will have an express pass.
I have been to Disney World with her and I know how accommodating they are. One time at Disney World my two daughters 3 and 4 had appointments at BBB. My aunt was with us. They actually took her in and made her into a princess too. She was so happy. I didn't think they did that and maybe they weren't supposed to but it was priceless. It made her trip.
I know Universal has really nice rider swap areas at some of their rides like FJ, Men in black and Spider-Man. Anyone think they would let us use rider swap with her. By that I mean someone waits with her while we ride and then swap.
Any other thoughts or tips for universal would be great.
thanks

we were there back in October.

they were as good as WDW in many respects and BETTER in a few.

for instance: all rides are ZERO ENTRY.. no step ups or down. this by and of itself was a HUGE plus for me with my bad hip and knees. never had any issues in any of the lines( I will comment that we stayed on site and had their version of unlimited FP so barely waited at all)

now a couple of rides were quite uncomfortable.. Gringotts, for instance my feet didn't touch the floor ( i am 5'6") and the bar plus size of the ride really crushed my knees so I probably won't ever be able to do that one again. I also do not do roller coasters at all so cannot comment on them line wise or ride wise.

the water taxis are limited.. they have one spot per for WC unless she can transfer and sit in a regular seat and you fold up the chair. I was either loaded first or last, depending on driver. this was no matter where I was in line for the most part( which was very easy to maneuver in) and they do only run every 20-30 minutes or so. ( then again maybe in high season they run more often, I dunno) never tried the busses at all.
