DIS Unplugged 10th Anniversary - Official Information Thread

My Daughter and I leave in two more days. I can't wait to see everyone down there! We should have all had shirts made with our screen names so we would know who is who! Safe travels to Orlando everyone!

Too bad they closed the auctions early, I was planning on waiting until the last minute to bid up to $1000 on the lunch. Wonder why they did this? My guess is I wasnt the only one waiting. I think they may have lost some money with this decision.

I don't know the reason for the auctions ending early.

They had stated on a previous podcast that the auctions would end at midnight on July 20th. I'm sure there were others waiting to bid at the last minute, but now they can't. .

Sorry you have to go like that, Mike. And I'm sure a cast is no fun in the heat/humidity! But at least it's at a totally awesome accessible place, and hopefully you'll "still be happy to be there". Safe travels!

I think some of us will be headed over after the Friday night "Dole Whips and Fireworks" event that I am hosting. At least I think that would be a good time to go over and visit Trader Sam's. I've never been either.

We stayed at the Poly in May.. and still haven't gone inside to experience TS at all, just out on the patio. I'm hoping we can squeeze some time in this trip!

I'm sure they had a good reason but I'm just interested to know what it was. Again, I have a feeling they left alot of money on the table if people planned on bidding with any similarity to how they do on ebay.

Has anyone received their "Connecting With Walt" Confirmation for the event on the 24th? I'd gotten confirmation for everything else, except that. There was a bit of a mix up when I signed up for it, but I did receive the first e-mail that confirmed my sign up right after they posted the event. I read the general Mega Meet e-mail Pete sent out earlier today telling us that we'd be receiving individual messages about each event we've signed up for. I just haven't gotten that updated confirmation yet. There's clearly no rush, as I know they are super busy getting all of this info out to everyone. I was just wondering considering I'd gotten my other confirmations. Thanks!

Yes - there are two events at the Poly Friday evening

from 7-9 is the official event Dole Whips for Bob run by Pete

Starting at 8:30 there is an "official unofficial" event where a number of us are meeting at the beach to watch the fireworks and just meet up as a bit of a welcome event.

Both events are listed on the first page - for the second feel free to direct any questions to myself or @Lisann

The emails are still being sent out since I've only gotten a few of them out of the total events I've signed up for.
