Details: Day 3 to pick up your credentials for the event and meet some of the podcasters in case you weren't able to make it the other days. Last chance to bid on silent auction items. Silent auction item winners will be announced as soon as the auction ends and totals can be tallied. We encourage you to bring a check made out to Give Kids the World to pay for any silent auction items you win. Cash will be accepted. Credit cards will also be accepted but we prefer you do not pay with a credit card as the credit card company will charge a processing fee that will impact the amount going to Give Kids the World.

DISUnplugged Live Show
Location: Cirque du Soleil - Disney Springs
Time: 1:00 PM
Details: Please arrive at the Cirque du Soleil theater in Disney Springs by Noon so that we can check credentials and begin loading the theater. Please proceed to the Cirque du Soleil box office located directly in front of the theater and look for representatives from Dreams Unlimited Travel and the Podcast who will provide further direction. Please note that Disney has requested that we do not allow food to be brought into the theater. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter or they will require us to pay a cleaning fee.

EPCOT Fireworks and Dessert Party with the DISUnplugged Team
Location: EPCOT, Terrace des Fleurs
Time: Please arrive by 8:15PM to check-in (top patio on the bridge between France and UK)
Cost: $65 per person (regardless of age), a portion goes to GKTW
Details: Join members of the DISUnplugged Team for a fun evening of Fireworks and Dessert at a private event at the Terrace des Fleurs in EPCOT. Space is limited and this event will sell out fast so please do not wait to sign-up if you are interested. Sign-ups begin 9AM Eastern Time on Friday 7/8/2015.

Hotel Booking Info

As part of the DIS 10th Anniversary Event the DIS and Dreams Unlimited Travel will be contracting with Disney Groups for room blocks for those interested in staying at a Disney Resort during the event.

You DO NOT have to book one of these rooms or even be staying at Walt Disney World to attend any of the events. Also, booking one of the rooms in our room block DOES NOT guarantee you a spot at any official events hosted by the DIS Unplugged Team.

As we finalize event details those will be posted in a separate thread along with instruction in how to sign up for the events.

On the Tuesday 3/15/16 DIS Unplugged Podcast we will be announcing details on when and how to book the Walt Disney World resort rooms we are contracting with Disney Groups. Later that day we will post a link here, on this thread, with more information on how to get pricing and book those rooms. These rooms and special pricing CANNOT be booked through a Dreams Unlimited Travel Agent so please do not ask them - again, details will follow that will explain the process.

The Walt Disney World resorts where we have room blocks held are:

Disney's Pop Century
Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside
Disney's Boardwalk Inn
Disney's Beach Club
Disney's Contemporary

When you book one of these resorts you will be eligible for the usual Disney Resort guests perks like My Disney Experience, FastPass+, MagicBands, etc.

Both tickets and a dining plan can be added to the room reservation. Again, the form will explain how all that works including deposit amounts and payments.

I know you will probably have additional questions. Please wait until the announcement and link to the quote form before asking as I think most questions will be answered at that time.

I just want to note that the deposit will be one nights room stay (plus tax) PLUS the full amount for tickets and dining. Note that tickets and dining can be added up to 10 days prior to check-in for the same price so to reduce your out of pocket cost you might consider just booking and holding the room now and adding tickets and/or dining later. Any balance owing will be due at resort check-in.

We have just learned that during our event the Food Court at Port Orleans French Quarter will be down for rehab. They will have some food but very limited. If you have booked this resort and would like to make other arrangements please contact
Disney's Group Reservations Office. The phone number to call is 407-939-4686 (Monday - Friday: 8:30 am - 6:00 pm Eastern Time and Saturday-Sunday: 8:30am to 5pm Eastern Time). You will need to reference our Group Number G0713033 and the Group Name: DISUnplugged 10 Year Anniversary Event as well as your confirmation number.

Auctions are now closed for the "Lunch in the Studio" and "Afternoon Tea with Oliver and Mom". Confirmation emails are being sent to the auction winners with details. Also, we've corrected the time for the "Taking Better Video at Walt Disney World" meet. That was originally listed from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, July 23rd. The new time is 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

You do not need to be at the meet to bid and win.

On your smart phone download the handbid app (free) and register. You must have a credit card on file to bid but you don't need one to browse the items. Search for "DIS Unplugged 10th Anniversary' and then click on it to see the auction.

On your computer go to https://www.handbid.com/auctions/dis-unplugged-10th-anniversary/ - you can browse items but you must register with a credit card to bid.

If you are not at the meet and/or cannot take your item we will ship it but you will be responsible for shipping costs which will be calculated at the end of the auction

    I can't go to this event, but I have to say the resort choices are great. POP is a superior choice for a Value. Both French Quarter & Riverside are exceptional for mods. The top 2 resorts in the mods tier hands down. Boardwalk & Beach Club are wonderful for Epcot Deluxe Resorts. Great work & behind the scenes organization. Anyone lucky enough to attend should be very excited indeed!

    Interesting development! If I didn't live so close to WDW (and have house guests then) Val & I might think about doing one of these. Its been a while since we last stayed at a WDW resort.

    Its been a while since we last stayed at a WDW resort.
    I'm going to guess it's been about 17 years for us. We did All Star once when our daughter was about 3 and was old enough to appreciate all of the decor. Other than that, it's all been offsite. Oh, and we did 2 nights at the Swan a couple of years ago after I won the stay from the Prizematron, but that isn't a Disney hotel so I'm not counting that.

    Clearly I'm out of the loop. I had no idea that Disney prices had gotten so high. How much are the value resorts normally? It would be $140/night through this link which isn't much of a value. We'll have to think about that. I'd like to be onsite for this. If we can do one room, we may splurge but if we need 2 rooms that would definitely be out of the question. Plus we'd have the hassle of changing rooms because we plan to arrive before the event.

    Clearly I'm out of the loop. I had no idea that Disney prices had gotten so high. How much are the value resorts normally? It would be $140/night through this link which isn't much of a value. We'll have to think about that. I'd like to be onsite for this. If we can do one room, we may splurge but if we need 2 rooms that would definitely be out of the question. Plus we'd have the hassle of changing rooms because we plan to arrive before the event.
    The value and mods are both cheaper if you rent thru Orbitz with their 15% off code. Not sure about the deluxes. Sports is $97 per night. Akl is $195 for standard view.

    Thanks for that. I was assuming (never a good idea) that the DIS would have gotten the best available rate. $97 is definitely more my speed. If we only need one room, I would certainly do that. If we need two rooms, we'll stick with an offsite condo.

    Well, to be fair, the value that the dis offered is pop, which is alot more popular than sports. I'm not sure why though, I've always liked sports and movies the best. Only good thing for me at pop is that I'm in walking distance to the aoa food court.

    Check AP rates too. When I looked it up a minute ago Pop was a little cheaper through the AP than through the group rate. The All-Stars are usually the cheapest through the AP rates. I usually can get one of the All-Stars for $95-$115 with the AP, just about any time of year.
