DIS teachers!!!

In 2 minutes I am allowed to leave the HS where I teach. I come back for meetings on 8/20, so that's 11 weeks of vacation! Since I don't have to go to school this summer, it's mainly kid time and our awesome cruise!
My room is packed up and I'm ready to grab my bookbag and take off as soon as I shut this computer down!

Have a great summer. I think when people say techers over here get a long holiday I will tell them about your 11 weeks, we get 5 1/2. Plus due to the filtering software I can't dis at school!!

Happy vacation! We still have almost 3 weeks to go, but I'm off today so I can take Ian in for more tests, and I took my DD sixth grade graduation day off, so I'm down to 12 days left. No DISing during school for me either- I have a hard enough time getting to the bathrom let alone to a computer . At 3:15 I swear you can hear every single toilet in the staff bathrooms flush

You know a long time ago our filters blocked the DIS, but I sent a request to have it unblocked--they do block unmoderated boards, but once they saw this was moderated they unblocked it.
Let me explain how I had time to DIS at work today--two of my classes were seniors, and they have been done since May 21. This Tues., Wed., and Thurs. were underclass exams, which were only 1/2 days although teachers have full days. Plus I only had to give 3 exams because again, seniors were gone. So I've had those two periods for a week plus several exam periods and 3 afternoons to finish grading, input grades into computer, clean room, put away knick knacks (Disney toys, etc. ), file loose papers I've been "meaning" to file for months, etc. My room was pristine clean this morning but I was required to stay until 11, so I used my time "wisely" by DISsing.
Now most teachers don't get my vacation time. I have a permanent certificate so I don't have to go back and get more hours. But many teachers my age and older only have bachelor's degrees, and need to get more classes in. Now they have also phased out the permanent certificate, so teachers younger than I am will always have to get so many classes in every so many years. I am VERY lucky in that respect. Many male teachers also take on second jobs in the summer, like truck driving or deck building.
