Dis Pudding Club

Wow, Mrs P! That is incredible :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Did you make everything from scratch? The little figures and everything? :worship:

We did make everything yes - even all the little stars were pressed out individually. Everything on that cake is edible right down to Sackboys zipper :thumbsup2

I was looking at your Key Lime Pie and cupcakes the other night and thinking you would make a good neighbour .... the folk next door to me have taken to throwing food out their upstairs windows onto my decking and I report them for this. You on the other hand would be welcome to throw food at my house :lmao:

Well if you were my neighbour you would probably get fed up of me bringing you cakes all the time :rotfl2:

Wow fab cake:thumbsup2

Thanks :) That is a huge compliment after seeing some of your creations :worship:

After adding the photos of the Little Big Planet cake to my FB pics I thought I would post some of these Cupcake Bouquets that I have done in the past

I am officially done posting my humble recipes here :rotfl: You put me to shame.

Don't you dare

The whole point of Pudding Club is that we all share our recipes, favourite puddings and treats. I am no great chef in the kitchen so I look forward to the simple recipes that have been shared on here so I can have a go :goodvibes

More lovely cakes.....this is doing my diet no good....feel like I need to eat something sweet.

Made my son an Angry Birds Birthday cake this week. It was chocolate cake but I used a new recipie, it was the best tasting chocolate cake.....strangely you had to put in flat coke!!! It was so light, terrible to ice but would definatly make again.

here is the recipie:

Ingredients
For the chocolate cake
250g/8½oz butter, plus extra for greasing

400g/14oz golden caster sugar

3 tbsp sunflower oil

1 tsp vanilla extract

3 free-range eggs, beaten

400g/14oz plain flour

1 tsp bicarbonate of soda

2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

pinch cinnamon

85g/3oz cocoa powder

220ml/8fl oz flat cola

Preparation method
1.Preheat the oven to 170C/325F/Gas 3.

2.Grease a 25cm/10in cake tin with butter and line with greaseproof paper.

3.For the chocolate cake, in a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until the mixture is pale and light.

4.In a separate bowl, stir the sunflower oil and vanilla extract into the beaten eggs.

5.Gradually beat the egg mixture into the butter and sugar mixture, adding only a little egg mixture at a time and making sure it is well incorporated before adding more, until all of the egg mixture has been incorporated and the mixture is well combined.

6.In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, bicarbonate of soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and cocoa powder until well combined.

7.Gradually fold the flour mixture to the cake batter mixture, a spoonful at a time, until all of the flour mixture has been incorporated into the cake batter.

8.Add the flat cola to the cake batter and stir carefully until well combined.

9.Pour the cake batter into the greased, lined cake tin. Level the top of the cake out with a palette knife or spatula.

10.Transfer the cake to the oven and bake for 1hr 15 mins to 1hr 20 mins, checking regularly, or until the cake has risen and a skewer comes out clean when inserted into the centre of the cake. (If the top of the cake browns too quickly during cooking, cover it with a sheet of aluminium foil.)

11.Carefully remove the cake from its tin and set aside on a wire rack to cool.

12.When the cake has cooled, cut the cake in half horizontally to create two thinner cakes.

Wow, that is just incredible. Do you do this as a business? And if not, WHY NOT?????!!!

P.S. Nope, I doubt I could get sick of your baking :) I bet if your neigbours ever want to sell up they will use you as a selling point for their property ;)

With Pancake Day fast approaching I think it would be the perfect time for us all to get creative.
I'm sure there are lots of ideas out there other than sugar and lemon juice - and I would love to see what we can come up with.
Are you an English pancake lover - or do you prefer the thick american ones :goodvibes
And of course those all important toppings. :thumbsup2

I'm trying some that Geno D'Acampo has mentioned on Twitter this morning...

English Pancakes with Nutella, fresh bananas, whipped cream and crushed hazelnuts - YUMMY!! :lovestruc

Will def take piccy of our pancakes next week.
Meanwhile today eldest dd made orange chocolate cupcakes, Izzy enjoyed them...lol

Anyone been watching the new hairy bikers mum knows best....we tried the orange semolina cake recipie today.

I am definately an English pancake girl, with lots of sugar and lots of golden syrup. Mine end up so sweet and sickly I can only usually handle one, and thats saying something!

those cupcake flowers are fantastic. makes me embarrased to show mine now. we have just got one of thos big top giant cupcakes and we attempted it last night. ended up using a 12,12,6,12 sponge recipe for it as it was so large. the result is we have a very messy very large cupcake which i now can't find a cake tin big enough to put it in. my 4 year old and 18 month old decorated it. will have to try and get the picture off my phone

Here is a photo of the cake that I posted the ingredients for (post 205)

It was the best chocolate cake that I have tasted, not great to ice though as it was so light.

Oh some lovely new stuff popping up on here.
I love the decoration on the Angry Birds cake - you are very talented :thumbsup2
And my mouth was watering at those pancakes. I only had one this year and it came with lemon and sugar - so nothing exciting for me. But being a big banana fan I would have loved that filling.
The 30th birthday cake looks fab to with some really interesting flavours that I would love to try.
Well done both of you :goodvibes

Over the weekend we have been awash with cup cakes. Mrs Pegasus has been testing and perfecting a few recipes of her own ready for starting her own business on April 6th :goodvibes
Add to this that Louise (Buzz for Boys) came to visit and brought lots of her own recipe gluten free cup cakes - and 2 boxes of Krispy Kreme Donuts - and the weekend was off to a healthy start.
Having never tried GF cakes before I was quite interested to taste the difference. A couple of my friends had told me to be prepared as they are not like normal cakes - but I have to say (sorry if this embarrasses you Louise) that they were as light, fluffy and tasty as any other cake I had had, especially the red velvet one :goodvibes
She also brought along some that she had made from a recipe on a GF website, and some shop bought ones, so that we could taste for ourselves how they normally tasted. I have to say the shop ones left an after taste, almost like they had sucked all the moisture out of my mouth :scared1:
All in all to say that I was impressed is an understatement :goodvibes

These are the ones Louise made. The red velvet and the one with the stars on were the yummy ones
