Hi all.

So I absolutely should be getting back to work, but here I am again hitting these boards to help me make it through until our next trip in Dec. Which got me wondering...certainly other people are procrastinating too?::yes::

So here's my question: what are the things that you're avoiding while on the DIS?

I should be continuing work on my DISsertation so I can get my degree in a respectable period of time. At least it is on a subject that is tangentially related to Disney -I'm studying the archives of Norman Bel Geddes, an earlier industrial designer (kin to Imagineering) who created the Futurama exhibit at the 1939 New York World's Fair (a prototype Epcot attraction).

Post a reply- help me procrastinate further!;)

Helping my husband with his paper for one of his master's classes, yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Packing for a business trip to Nashville tomorrow!

Packing for our trip to my in-laws for the 4th. Can you tell I don't really care if we go or not?! ;)

I'm not avoiding anything, as much as I use this as my escape !!

We had squirrels chew a hole in dd bedroom wall to escape the attic, *sigh...

so the wallpaper the original owners put on her walls, has to come off... I've spent over 20 hours, started with water, then hot vinegar water, then the DIF (and yes that tiger tool) It was taking over 2 hours per sheet to get kinda off... I went and rented a wallpaper steamer ah only 1 1/2 hours per sheet... they mustve used cement to glue the seems down, and the paint comes off easier than the dang paper...

when I've had enough I dream of Disney and come here to escape!!

I'm still at work, so there are numerous things I should be doing. If I were at home, it would be finishing up my spring cleaning (sheesh, it's already summer).

Balancing the checkbook, writing out checks, laundry, dishes, finishing up the trip details for Hershey (leaving 07/10), changing all the details of our now Ocotober Disney trip:( . We were going in August and I had just about finished up with PSs, reservations, airfare etc and I found out we can't go in August but we can go in Ocotober. Which means I also have to change my trip counter. And here I sit reading the Dis boards.

Maybe tomorrow I'll get myself organized.

Sleeping, apparently. But seriously, I find my self avoiding cleaning and paying bills the most. Generally, instead of reading a good book, I'll pop over the the DISboard!:D

This is gonna sound weird, but try fabric softener. My sister recently moved, and we put some in a spray bottle, sprayed down the walls, and it worked WONDERS!

Getting dressed, cleaning the house, going food shopping, laundry!

:jumping1: :jumping1:

Oh look! Counter is still going down!

I definitely procrastinate at work. I'm self- employed but I'm on a long-term gig at a big company. It's great money and a pretty fun project. However, when there is some task that I have to do that fills me with dread, I always take a few minutes to visit the DIS. Now, this happens 2-3 times daily. Unless I'm just too busy...but I'd say I visit the boards, although briefly, while at work for about a total of 20 minutes. I'd much rather think about Disney than work.

Right now I'm procrastinating on the DIS. We're actually leaving in 3 days for a 7 night stay at the Poly. My DH is out of town until Monday - so I have to prepare everything by myself. The house is a mess and I can't leave it this way for our housesitter (we have a horse farm so someone has to come and physcially stay on our property when we go on vacation). Oh - the horse farm - there's another task. Lots to do with the animals before we go. I haven't done laundry. Haven't bought all the things we need like film, lotion, camera batteries, etc etc. So, I should be upstairs cleaning the guest room for our poor housesitter but instead I'm on the DIS. It's much more fun.

I have been using these boards as the principal distraction in my life for some months now! Whenever I feel sad or overwhelmed or want to avoid thinking about or doing most anything the DIS boards are here to distract!

Just today I learned about Mr. Potato head disney style!

These boards may also be saving my marriage:rolleyes: My DH was pretty tired of hearing about WDW non-stop!

Doing laundry - I have a whole basket that needs to be folded and put away and another load to start. Just a few more minutes of DIS time.....:D

Going to a party I don't want to go to. I know I shouldn't be this way, but I'm not going to know anybody, my husband refuses to go (we should go -- he's being a jerk) and I can be so shy!:o

I am avoiding the usual -- laundry, dishes. I am off during the summers and I find that I can get quite lazy! Actually, I keep the house very clean -- a bit of a neat freak I am. But the dishwasher needs to be emptied, and all I want to do is sit here and read all these fabulous posts! I usually skate between the resort boards and the cruise line board, but now I found this! Very interesting here!

I'm avoiding cleaning the oven and mopping the floors

Sewing... which I love to do so I don't why I'm not doing any. lol

And vacuuming. It's a might hairy downstairs from the dog and me.

Doing my dishes. lol. Out of all the things to do for housework, I hate dishes the most.
