DIS problems?

I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere but I'm having so many issues I can barely use the site at the moment to attempt a search. Is anyone else getting the "503 Service Unavailable" error on like every single thread you attempt to read? Or, if it lets you open the thread, if you try to go to the 2nd page, then the error will pop up. I'm not having problems with any other sites, and it seems that other subforums on the DIS are working OK, but not the CB. Or maybe it's just me.

Just curious if anyone else has noticed this today.

I get that a lot on the DIS, but today I haven't.

No problem here. Could be your service provider (I'm using Verizon DSL).

What browser are you using? Is it Firefox?

There's a thread on the Tech Support forum discussing a similar, intermittant issue a small number of users have reported. We haven't been able to gather enough information to troubleshoot or recreate this issue, though.

Would you can a description of what's happening to you, when, what browser you're using, and any other information that might be helpful to us in figuring out what's happening on that thread?

I haven't had any problems at all. Maybe like pp said, your ISP? Facebook, now thats another story.

I use Firefox normally. I couldn't post a reply sooner because, oddly, I can now open most threads fine except my own. Access seems to be OK on my iPhone.

I know I should take it as a divine signal that I need to quit DISing and get off my butt and do the stuff I had planned to do today, but I hate when things don't work.

I was having that problem on IE8 for a few days last week. Since then it has been OK. I switch to Firefox when it happens and everything works ok.

today is the first time I've had this problem come up, but it's been rampant for the last few hours. It seems to be a little sporadic in that I can view some threads OK and, obviously, could post a thread (though it did hiccup when I hit Submit the first time). I pretty much exclusively use Firefox and am on Charter Communications cable Internet. Haven't seen the problem replicated when testing with my iPhone thus far.

Oh, and the problem does not appear to be thread-specific. It's been all over the CB today.

FWIW, I'm now using IE8, for the first time since I bought this computer back in Oct., lol, and haven't seen the problem resurface.

Ugh, I like Firefox so much better, though. Oh well.

Do you use a Mac? If so, clear your cookies and it should resolve.

I'm not getting any messages, but it takes forever to get into every page. I use IE. It started day before yesterday. I just assumed it was holiday overload.
