Do ya'all want a good laugh? I just got an email from DVC asking me to book one of the member cruises!![]()
all the previous ones sold out in a day and now they have to solicit members to book one of these. They're probably so naive they probably just think its because they're offering two different sail dates.

Terrie, love the pics!
Yes, I got that email too and laughed. I almost want to email them and tell them _why_ I won't be booking. But, I don't know if that would do any good and I'm not big on wasting my time.![]()
I thought the same thing, maybe we all should write them and let them know why.

I wrote them. Here is my letter. Enjoy
Dear DVC,
We will not be booking the member cruise this year, nor will many of our other DVC member friends who we have traveled with on the DVC cruises previously. Weve had many friends tell us they had been on previous member cruises and have watched the quality of entertainment, gifts and value of the member cruise deplete year after year. Our first member cruise was in 2010 and we also went on the one in 2011. We were not planning to go on the 2011 one, however, such a big fuss was made about it being the 20th anniversary for DVC we thought certainly it would be special. It was such a sad disappointment. The entertainment was subpar the stateroom gifts were a joke at best and an insult at worst. The two stupid orange stuffed birds and RCI gift were insulting to say the least. For all the extra money that is charged for this cruise one would think it would be special. Not at all. Walking in to the terminal and seeing it look like it does on any other given day was quite a shock. You would have thought that the ship would be all decorated and decked out for the 20th anniversary and it wasnt. There were more DVC/Welcome Home related decorations on the 2010 cruise than the 20th anniversary for DVC cruise. If you are wondering why, after years of the DVC member cruise selling out in one day, you find yourselves in need of soliciting members to book months after the booking date opened up, now you know. No, it has nothing to do with the fact that you are offering 2 cruises to choose from on a larger ship. It has everything to do with the fact that DVC has consistently watered down the quality and value that made member cruises so special. It is all over the different Disney forums online, Disboards etc. People have complained that they felt cheated with regards to the DVC member cruise and that it simply isnt worth it anymore. This is what happens when you take DVC members for granted and play them for fools. Hopefully, down the road we will hear feedback from others that DVC has decided to make the member cruises special again and offer great gifts and entertainment once more as opposed to cheap timer fillers and even cheaper trinkets. Until then, we will continue to enjoy our DVC membership and Disney Cruise line separately.
Ok did anyone else see this one? This is from one of the Disney Cut sheets for the offer to make up your room any way you want and more. The picture suggests there is a lot more! ???

Since we weren't sure which one my in-laws would want to do, we booked both. So as soon as we talk to them about it, we'll be canceling whichever one we won't use.
Heck..I just want to do the detective agency thing...didn't get a chance to do it on the Dream. It looks so cool! I may have to do it twice, though....once with the kids (as a non drinking detective) and once to do the drinking game.Terrie, I am so proud of you, I knew you could do it, how many clues and how many shots were done?????
Were the shots your special mixture????
Uh ... we were drinking ... so not really counting. Things got fuzzy, so ... about that many
Good morning everyone!!!! We are super excited today!!! We woke up at 6:00 am to call Disney to reserve an Illuminations Cruise AND a Wishes Cruise for October 10th. We got them both!!!![]()

Now....we better have the same luck when we book the cabanas for this cruise!!!!! And Remy, and Palo, and excursions.![]()
And I'm especially excited now to do the detective agency drinking game!Heck..I just want to do the detective agency thing...didn't get a chance to do it on the Dream. It looks so cool! Oh I certainly hope so! Yannick at Remy asked me where the bears were and said I'd better bring them on the next trip
I had read about them on the Cruise Line forums but never been on a cruise where one was being done. Thanks to Ellaenchanted (one of the originators of PCG) and a few other MV cruisers, I was able to put one together. Traditionally, a Pink Champagne Girls meet is a champagne tasting organized other with DISers and women only. Everyone wears pink and feather boas and tiaras abound. I decided we could have guys at my PCG meet but they too must wear pink, feather boas and tiaras for the duration. Our meet was at Ooh La La. At the end I had Shutters take a group picture of us with Ariel.
