CharlieNJ and the corn story ... omg, I still laugh remembering that. I also remember Alex being super-cool about the caradana username

I first logged in to the DIS from my freshman year dorm room in 1998, when I had saved up $700 from my on-campus job and pledged to myself that I was going to Disney. I cannot BELIEVE that was 11 years ago. So cool.

I was talking to my kids about something I learned on an internet discussion board a long time ago (TUG). Then they started reminiscing about my days on the DIS.

I can remember many years ago when you could see a list of DISers by join date. I was super excited to be on the first page as I joined in Aug 1999, to look for info on buying a DVC resale among other things.

Yes, I was looking for that list just recently. I had no idea in 1999 that this DIS thing would become such a permanent fixture in my life.
I too remember the canned corn thread. I spend most of my DIS time listening to the podcast. Kevin was talking just last week about people bringing sandwiches and coolers into the parks and I kept screaming - Canned Corn people!! at my iPod.
Anyway, as you can see from my post count I haven't posted all that frequently. But I do remember some old trip reports that were SUPER entertaining. For some reason I think they were Dan's (OP)?

Hi Kim! I was just thinking about the trip Bill and I made to Chicago. We had a nice meet with a group of Chicago area Dis'ers. It was always so much fun to spend time with other DIS/Disney fans.

Ditto on the trips to Chicago. I remember making SEVERAL trips to the windy city to meet my DIS friends. So many, in fact, that I actually stopped off in Indiana to buy new tires for my car before continuing on to Chicago. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face on this dreary October morning.
