DIS oldtimers (well newtimers too) where are you?

Ditto on the trips to Chicago. I remember making SEVERAL trips to the windy city to meet my DIS friends. So many, in fact, that I actually stopped off in Indiana to buy new tires for my car before continuing on to Chicago. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face on this dreary October morning. :yay:

I remember meeting you John at one of those meets. I really enjoyed getting together with everybody and miss that.

Was always great to see you too John! One of the nicest people I know! :)

Hi Kim! I was just thinking about the trip Bill and I made to Chicago. We had a nice meet with a group of Chicago area Dis'ers. It was always so much fun to spend time with other DIS/Disney fans. :cloud9:
That was Barb for Real 2001, right? My mom had just had brain surgery then. I remember NEEDING that night out! :thumbsup2

Miss you too! And your wife!

We need a DISCON III right here in Chicago - BEFORE we all head to WDW again ---- I can dream, can't I?! ;)

I, and various members of my family, were at a couple of those Chicago meets, too! We are from St. Louis, but those were the closest meets we found!

Oops, I remember now that we did attend a couple of St. Louis meets also, but they weren't as largely attended (or as long lasting!) as the Chicago ones!

So, hello to anyone who remembers me! Oh heck, hello to anybody who doesn't, too!:goodvibes

I remember you! 1st met at December99's house. You were with your DD I believe! :goodvibes

Yes! I believe I brought with me DS, Jared, DD, Katelyn and Katelyn's friend, Pam.

I think it was possibly the next year when we came again to a meet, this time at PatrickIL's house. I think those three were with me then also, along with DH, Kevin.

Boy, that's been a while! Jared is now a daddy to our beautiful grandson, and Katelyn is now married!

Gosh, I'm old!!!

Congrats on all the updates and additions!!! :goodvibes

Yes, PatrickCon 7/6/02 was almost 1 year after December99's Meet (8/01).

GOOD TIMES! :woohoo:

Miss them! :sad1:

The Barb for Real meet was just before 9/11. We got home the day before it happened. Then that summer after DIS-Con we traveled around going to meets. PatrickIL's meet started at BUca and we had that huge group there. We had so much fun that night. Then I think the picnic at Patrick's was the next day and we met somewhere for breakfast on Sunday before everyone went home. I miss those days.

Then there was RiddleCON at Cedar Point. That was loads of fun (despite the afternoon downpour). And we've hosted a Memorial (Sun)Day picnic at our house for several years thanks to Perfectmatch300 (Nancy & Barry) who decided to come to Ohio to ride roller coasters at the now defunct Geauga Lake amusement park and ended up starting a tradition.

I love this thread!!!

WOW!, lots of memories!!
I think our first Chicago meet (or one of the first) was at Portillo's on Butterfield. I was amazed at the size of the group that met.

John, I remember the meet where i first met you (was it your first Chicago meet?). It was at Woodfield, and you and your lovely wife brought Disney PEZ dispensers for the kids.

Barb, that dinner at Buca's was a bit crazy, wasn't it?!? I was fortunate enough to be sitting next to Crissup and across from CarolAnn...a guaranteed
good time! In fact, I think we laughed more than ate.

Patrick's picnic was HUGE, so many people from out of state! And Brisully made the BEST potato salad!

Debbie, we had a mini-meet down at WDW at GF Breakfast Buffet! There were quite a few kids there, but I think we adults were even more excited than the kids. Wow, I can't believe your kids are married! But, I guess I should....Dan (my DS) is a college junior now.

KimRaye, I remember you a lot from the IMAX Lion King Meet...followed by a yummy BBQ dinner.

Thanks, (to all of you) for the memories!

I usually only DIS right before a trip to "fuel the fire" but Dave and I are still around..... :)

This thread gives me such :goodvibes Barb, didn't you have a big meet in '02 or '03 AFTER the first DIS Con?? My memory is getting a little fuzzy. LOL Good times for sure! :cool1: Happy Thanksgiving to all. :grouphug:

Tia, it was that same summer after DIS-Con that everyone had picnics.

Hi all,
Been around off and on for a some years now, but hope to be posting more, especially with a Disney trip on our radar!
The past couple of years haven't been all that great for us(won't bum you out with details), but things seem to be sailing along better nowadays, thankfully.

Nice to know a constant, pleasant place to plan trips and to share experiences exists after all these years.

Take care,
Mark
