Dis Mom's Club?

Thanks so much! Will pass along to hubby when he is in a better mood. Geez what a crank this week. Maybe something to do with working 7-6 then going back in and working 10-4:00 every day this week. UGH!

He has those golden handcuffs I keep hearing about. I so wish he could find a new job. But with me only working 16 hours a week it makes it hard for him to seriously consider looking.

Maybe its their "time of the month!" :rotfl: My DH is super crabby this week. I would say it was his job, but he's in the Navy and right now, they aren't doing much in his shop. But he is working FT and doing FT school too... Guess that could be part of his problem.:surfweb:

We do the DDP because it takes away so much of the stress.
DH loves to eat, and so do the rest of us, but...

As soon as we talk about eating "How much will this one cost me..."
Then when we sit down he'd look at the menu and "Can't believe what they charge at these places..."
When the meal came " sure hope it's worth the money..."
When the bill comes "Well, we might be doing hamburgers from here on out..."
Then the tip " Was she really worth that much?"
Leaving the restaurant "well, my wallet is sure lighter anyway..."

This way the meals are covered and ADR's area made, tips are in envelopes, and we're all happy. DH said he'll never go without the dining plan. :thumbsup2

Did you take my DH on vacation with you?:rotfl: That's why we do the DDP as well!

My DH is the EXACT opposite. First he is excited because I always get a fab deal on the room. Then he gets all picky about the meal plan and airline tickets and this and that. He has the girls saving CHANGE right now in a jar that calculates how much is in it on the cover (strange plastic thing my grandmother gave us for christmas ~ but that is another story) so that they will have spending money.

Then we get there and he spends like we never have to pay another mortgage again! Last time (our super cheap just heading down for MVMCP) he tells the girls they can each pick FIVE things to take home. I looked at him like he was crazy and he was all like "What?"

I explain to him that if they each pick 5 things that are only $20/each (and yeah good luck getting off that easy) that would be $200 in stuff they aren't even going to look at when we get home! It was more than we paid for the room for 4 nights for God's Sake!

All of a sudden when we get there he turns into this person with an "I don't look at price tags open wallet" mentality.

Luckily I at least kept a handle on things. Mimi picked a pink princess purse with a coin purse she still loves, a set of 3 mickey earrings (they just recently go them pierced), a $5 light stick for illuminations that we used again at Nemo on ice but is pretty much dead. I can't even remember the other two things she picked.

And all I remember Z picked was a stuffed Minnie with a celebrate balloon.

I swear if he didn't have me there he would have to sell the house when he got home.

Hello Moms! I am so pleased this thread was started.

I am Dee, I have been happily married to my DH for 4 1/2 years and we have been blessed with a DD Erin, who is 3.

Although DH had been to Disney a couple of times as a young adult, our first trip together in 2008 was what sealed the deal for us. My in-laws very graciously treated us to that trip and to be honest we really thought we would do as much as possible because we really didn't think we would be back anytime soon. We loved the fact that Erin's food allergies were not even a concern, we all really enjoyed ourselves and so we bought into DVC right then and there. It was a great decision especially since DH and I work opposite schedules and this makes taking a family vacation each year a priority.

In the 2 trips we have taken to Disney it has been interesting to see how Erin's love of Winnie the Pooh is still very strong but in between the trips she found Cinderella and the Princesses. I think an appointment at BBB is on the agenda for our upcoming trip. Too cute!

Good meeting you all and I look forward to keeping up with this thread!

Are you sure we aren't married to the same man?:lmao: My DH seems to think we are the "Rich and Famous" when we step foot on Disney property. Thats why he likes the DDP, because then reality doesn't have to set in, until we're home again. :rotfl:

I have started buying all the souvenirs, I know the kids are going to want ahead of time and bringing them with us! I have my "Disney tote." This site is perfect for all the light up toys the kids could possibly ask for and for 1/4 of the cost! They even have a Mickey head spinner for $2.35! http://www.premierglow.com/Light_up_Toys.31/ I figure even if they only get to use it 1 Disney trip, I can buy 3-4 and still only spend what I would've on 1 at the park. I even have a pirate Mickey doll that DS got about a year ago that is in the tote and he only gets him at Disney. Its like he gets a new toy every trip!

We LOVE BBB! Here are the pictures from Mimi and ZZ's trip in January! They had so much fun! We initially only went to have Mimi done (since they have to be 3 and Z wasn't 3 yet) but Z just captured the hearts of the godmothers and they asked if they could do Z too.

BTW ~ since they asked don't you think we shouldn't have had to pay??? :rotfl:

Just saying! I totally knew we were paying for it.

Hi Everyone...

I'm Stacy, DH Steve,
we have 3 pirate:pirate:pirate:
Tyler 8
Brady 3
CJ 11 months

I took hubby on his 2nd trip to WDW within our first year of dating in early 98 and we've been going several times a year since! I converted him...he never knew what he was missing. We've been on 2 Disney cruises, 7 night western carib. and the 10 night southern, we loved both...but the southern was great.

Our last trip was the "spoil me wrotten birthday trip" for me in 10/09, we stayed club level at BWI. We are going again...well, we'll be almost there 3 weeks from today! We're driving leaving at midnight 4/15-going into 4/16. We will be spending my youngest's 1st bday driving to disney, I was feeling guilty for about 20 seconds, then said...we're driving to Disney. We'll be staying in a 1 BR at the BWV.

We have looked at DVC twice and been talked out of it by family members, we are going to look again, but I need to see the AKL w/the pull out bed for the 5th person in 1br.

I'm glad someone on here mentioned food allergies, we have to deal w/this with our youngest and I've been reading up on it so much! I have all the forms to send to disney, but want to send after we see the allergist again next week to make sure I didn't miss anything he needs to stay away from! He doesn't have allergies per se, he has a disease that causes him to have a high likelihood of having a severe (anaphelatic...no clue how to spell) reaction to common allergens. So I want to make sure we stay away, there are many foods I haven't introduced yet due to his age.

Hehe we are totally over the spinning things as they EACH got a $20 Minnie (I think this was on our Sept trip) and they worked for about 10 minutes.

Mimi's broke first and she convinced Z to trade!! Silly little girl. Then they other one broke too. They are the ones that spin with the light up skirt.

I remember I thought how lucky I was that Mimi and ZZ thought those carts that go by selling the light up stuff was part of the parade! I was bummed when they figured out it was for sale. Of course Mimi was 4 by then!

As far as allergies go... my youngest is allergic to berries. Any. Berry. It stinks. Even if something brushes up against a berry she breaks out in swollen hives.

We are pretty good at managing it. BUT ~ we mentioned it to our waiter at one of the TS and chef came out to talk to us.

I felt bad I even mentioned it but they ASKED! It was good because they checked everything over on her plate before sending it! They really did cater to her.

Welcome! We're staying at AKV in a 1 bedroom during our July trip. If you don't get a chance to see the room when you're there, I'll take pictures of the room with all the beds pulled out for you! And of course tell you just how much space it really feels like. We'll be squeezing 6 of us in there. Last year for that though, since the baby will be turning 3 a few days after we get back.

Allergies stink :) I got a lot of good info from the disabilities page. They gave an email address you can send a note to and they sent me forms w/tons of info. Some where you can get allergy free things, and then a form that I can fill out w/what he needs to stay away from and all of our adr's so it will be noted on there. The poor kid has pediatric mastocytosis and has spots, that are colored hives (urticaria pigmentosa) all over his body. If he has a small reaction to something, the hives swell up, but he can have a bad reaction and we have to carry an epipen for him. He is always on zyrtec and I have to carry benadryl all the time for when he has a small reaction.

I've always heard how great they are at WDW with allergies, now I'll find out! I'm holding off on ordering his bday cake too...need check w/allergist on eggs, milk. He's on speciality formula, as he had reactions to regular and soy before we knew he had this. I'm going to have his cake made at the BW bakery, but want to make sure he can eat it!

Thank you, we have a couple years til we "need" the room for the 5th, but we did a studion villa with the 4 of us 2 years ago when my middle was 15 months and no way could I do that w/the 5 of us! I like my space :rotfl:

:rotfl: that WOULD have been a deal breaker for me. We made a pretend premarital agreement that he had to take me at least twice a year ~ but preferably three to four times a year!

:rotfl2: I should've taken advantage of the early days when he'd jump the moon for me. Now I have to nag to get him to pick his toothpick off the carpet

Welcome! I see at the bottom of your post you're looking for a ticker... I just went through finding one just a few minutes ago as I noticed my was gone! Try www.***********************/stepone/vacation.html and use the code for sites that don't allow HTML!

Thanks! :hippie: I had a ticker on here for like 3 months from Magical Kingdoms but one day I logged on and it was gone  A Disney ticker is a Disney ticker! Argh. I'll set a new one up soon :surfweb: I love watching the days go down down down :woohoo:

My DH wasn't too into Disney when we first got together but then I made him take me and the kids to DL a couple of years ago and now he loves it as much as I do! We even got APs to DW this year! :cool1:

Oooo I might have to make him take us to DL, too. I've heard it's small next to WDW *but* I'll take any dose of the magic I can! :wizard:

******** Hi to all the new Mommys on the thread! :goodvibes I'm rarely on during the day since my 13 month old has me on top of her all day long so night time is my free time. hehehe

Suellen, adorable BBB pics! I'd LOVE to do this for Safia and my niece, Taylor (who is also 5) but not sure I can justify it in the heat of July :guilty: However I do think I'll be getting Eva's 1st haircut done on Main Street! :cutie:

You definitely need to get that stuff cleared up BEFORE the kids show up. Once they are here their focus starts to slide off you! At least it did here! Not that I mind much... because he doesn't get ENOUGH time with the girls. :)

Magical Kingdom has some virus on it. They are restricted until Magical Kingdoms gets it cleared up.

Thank you it was TONS of fun to see the Little One enjoying herself so much. This time I am going to schedule it for our last full day ~ otherwise it will get ruined in the pool. July might be too hot. Haven't been there in July for about 15 years. It didn't seem too hot then... but I was just a kid!

It's never as bad as when we're the kids. It's when we're the parents dealing with the kids that it's horrific :lmao:

***New ticker :dance3:

Samar~ I read somewhere on the DVC boards that the magical kingdom tickers could have a virus in them, so the Dis has stopped the use of them.
All me kids have had their hair done at the Main Street Barbers, and they love it. They will put the girls' hair up with color and confetti, for something like $8 or so. My Monster (DS2) has to have his hair done everytime we go and he makes Dad do it to!

Suellen~ The girls are so cute! I can't wait to take Kira(DD4) to BBB! We did it when we were in DL, Feb 09, she wouldn't let them do her hair, I had already put her hair up with a tiara, but she loved having her "princess face" put on.princess:

ETA: This is my 200th post!

Thank you! We sure think they are cute .... but our opinion may be a little skewed. :rotfl:

Hmmmm they will put their hair up with confetti and stuff right there on Main Street? I might be able to do that instead!

It gets expensive when you got two girls!

If anyone is interested these are Mimi's photopass BBB from last March. I was sick as a dog (swine flu pounded down somewhat with tamiflu) but we got there gosh darn it!!

http://picasaweb.google.com/suellenh/PhotoPassPhotos#5373276881177158546

I loved the photo shoot after. It was tons of fun!

Wow, you guys work fast. I am not sure I'll be able to catch up. :rotfl:

We have done BBB twice, and it was great, we also did the Main Street Barber Shop on our last trip. My middle DD got her hair cut for Locks of Love and they did the confeti on the girls. This trip both my younger DDs will be donating their hair so we are going to let them do the paint and confetti since we are not doing BBB this trip. First time (to BBB) I took all 3 girls and last time I took 2 girls, we loved it, no regrets about doing it, but we have to be done with it, too expensive. It was supposed to be a one time thing but grandma had so much fun the first time that she paid for the second time. :goodvibes

Anyone have any weekend plans?

Today we are going to the first of 3 egg hunts (not including our own) at 10. It is at a friends house and it is going to be COLD! But they will find the eggs fast then get around the fire. We are used to it, they do it every year and we live in New York so we expect it. After that we are going to Michael's for free craft day. It is an Easter craft with some Crayola things they have been wanting to try. Then we are going to go pick up their ceramics they painted last week. That is about it for them today, they are coming home and cleaning their bedrooms and DH and I are going out on a date. Tomorrow all we have planned is Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Not sure if we will do anything else.
