DIS Meets 2003 DVD now available!

I know that a lot of you have been waiting for this DVD and it's finally ready! The DIS Meets 2003 DVD shows nearly every DIS Meet that happened over 2003. The video is on two DVDs and the total running time is over 2 hours. Obviously, there were a lot of DIS meets!

What will you see in this DVD? You will see:

WDW meets
My encounter with Infestation at Islands of Adventure's Halloween Horror Nights
The Tasting of the Beverly
Riddle Con
John Con
Torturing a kid on It's a Small World
Universal Orlando meets
...and much more!

So what's the cost of the DVD? I'm not asking for any reinbursement for my time in editing this video. It's my thank you to everyone who takes the time out to visit the DIS. But I do need to cover the cost of the DVDs, cases, etc. I'm not selling this video because I don't want to make a profit. However, if you want a copy of the video, I ask for a donation of at least $8 to cover the cost of materials. Where can you find a video for $8? Certainly you can't buy "Cinderella II" for $8! You can donate more $ if you wish. Any additional money will go towards a future DIS Meets video (possibly the DIS Meets 2004 DVD, now in production!).

Usually, I send the video out first and then have people send the $ later. Some people have stiffed me in the past. I can't do much about that, but I think I can do something now. Remember, I'm a Webmaster now with access to the big red button! I wonder if I can "zap" people who don't send a donation.

Some meets, like the Pittsburgh meet, are notably absent from the video. That's because I never got photos of video from the meet, even though people promised to send some. I can't make all the meets, so we need to contribute lots of video or photos for next year's presentation. I like to deal with video more since I can be more creative with it.

Also, anyone who attends one of my DIS meets will automatically get a copy of this DVD.

I'm offering it on DVD for now. With the prices of DVD players and DVD-ROM drives become commonplace in computers, everyone should have a way to play DVDs by now. However, if you need a copy of VHS, I can try to accomodate. Please e-mail me.

I have seen the 2003 DIS Meets DVD and, simply put, this is Barry's best work to date. He had limited video to work with and was not present at all of the DIS meets that are included on the DVDs, and yet he manages to capture the heart and soul of these meets.

The arrangement of the chapters on this two DVD set leaves you always thirsting for more. One of the key themes is Barry's trip to Universal Studios during Halloweekends. He provides a unique perspective of the event. He keeps the excitement level high by interspersing the video of Halloweekends with that of DIS meets from Florida and from around the world.

The music that accompanies the video is always a pleasure, and this year's model is no exception. If you have ever been to a DIS meet, you need a copy of these DVDs. They will bring back a flood of great memories of 2003.

I will premiere the DIS meets 2003 video at our annual Memorial Day picnic at our home in NE Ohio in May. If you can't wait (or can't make it to Ohio), contact Barry and get your very own copy. It will be well worth it.

I didn't know all of you met so much. I've been in the IOA board all this time. I need to start reading this board. All I can say is wow. It would be cool to have a meet at Mythos for the Mummy and have the music of Mythos playing. The music is what makes those DVDs so good.

Barry - got my copy today and we are watching it now. I was surprised to see the start of it had a DISmeet sign that my DH and I mae for our cruise. I'm assuming you got a photo of it from Andy aka Verandaman as we sent it to him after. Nice to see a bit of me in it. I'm bringing it to the Michigan meet.
