DIS MEET UPDATE: August 19 at 3:30. Info on 1st post

UPDATE: Ok...

Dis-Meet on Wednesday, August 19th at 3:30, in front of Atlantic Dance Hall (Welcome Home Wednesday).
I'll probably have some type of green on, even if it's one of those hawiian shirts or something.
That way, those that need to leave for dinner can, and others can stay for WHW if they choose.
I'll be there for both the meet and for WHW...I cannot make jellyrolls, and i would like to see the movie at BCV, depending on the movie anyways.
I'll have 3 family groups with me.

We'd be interested ! Most of our dates overlap (the 19th would be the most ideal) - we leave late in the afternoon on 8/23. I'd say since it's sooo hot either an air conditioned community hall (maybe at Kidani or BLT?) or one of the resort pools (which leaves out BCV, AKV & BLT).

We're at BCV from the 16th-23rd....we usually run pretty commando most days so not sure yet on the who, what, when & where but once all is decided & done will try to make it if it works out for us... I was gonna suggest meeting at the margarita cart in the Mexico Pavillion! We MAY be trying to hit the Owners Locker wine thing-a-ma-bob that's on Tuesday evenings...so that would be the 18th that we hit Epcot....

Hummmm....margaritas then wine....

Afraid I don't know the ALL the details...I see John post pix on Facebook... I think it's every Tuesday from like 7:00 or 7:30 until Illuminations starts - in France...maybe by the Martini cart?! He provides glasses of wine for Owners Locker members...

We might be interested (8 of us; ages 14 -64) depending on where and when the majority could/would like to meet. We will be there Aug 16 - 21 (@ AKL- Jambo). We would have no preferences regarding location, time, indoors/outdoors, etc and would only attend if it fits into our existing itinerary. So please do not consider or use us as a factor in any of the decision making should this come to fruition.

Like Anal Annie, we run commando (extreme commando would be more accurate). We always use an extensively planned and coordinated itinerary which is usually 6 months in the making for our family trips. We have a private family website with a full blown discussion forum, dedicated to our wdw family trip planning. And before anyone comments... yes we know we are obsessed (possibly insane)... But it does make for some incredible and fun filled trips for all.

Been quite busy, wasn't able to be on the boards for a few days....sorry.
What kind of atmosphere is Jellyrolls? Would kids be allowed there? Haven't been there myself. I just wouldn't want to discount families that would like to attend, but unable to because of age restrictions.

Jellyrolls is 21 and up.

I'll be there the 14th-21st.
I'll be with my dd and her friend so could do a family meet during
the day and of course I'll be at Jellyrolls at night

Update on the DIS Meet.....
So far the majority are stating the 19th would be best for everyone. Looking at page one of the Who's going in August post, many of us going in august would be there that time too.
So, while not a definate date yet, I'm seeing Wednesday the 19th being the front runner date.
I also agree we'll need to pick a place with AC. Still open for suggestions on location.
Ideas?

It looks like many of us are staying between the BCV/BWV and AKV areas.

Some have mentioned Jellyrolls, but that would limit families with kids. However, what if we had it at Welcome Home Wednesday? and possibly had a Dis Member be a contestant of the game (if possible) to represent the DIS Board Members....Not sure when Jellyrolls opens, but that would put many in a close proximity to there. Also, it would be in AC, and get a free DVC item for being there.

Some have mentioned AKV Kidani area since it's new and many may like to see the new resort.

Again, just throwing out ideas...nothing set in stone yet. Keep the ideas coming.

Maybe we could plan on attending the Welcome Home Wednesday followed by dinner somewhere in the BW/BC/YC area followed by Jellyrolls? This way people can stay for as many activities as they want and can drop out at any time. Thoughts?

Unfortunately, I can't make Welcome home Wednesday as I was able to get Le
cellier ressies at 4:15 that day(only dinner I could get there). otherwise I'd love to do that. But willing to do something after, and definitely want to do Jellyrolls. I just wondered if they still have the movies on the beach at beach club, and when they are. That might be something for families.

Hunclemarco, your plans sound wonderful... especially the one that was suggested by someone to go to jellyrolls. We went there two summers ago and had a blast. Unfortunately, we have plans the 19th, but some of us have formed a little get together at the BWV poolside on the 18th at one thirty if any of you are interested. My opinion is you can never meet enough new people with common interests! Even if you do the 19th still, if you find some free time on the 18th, please stop by and say hi!
