DIS Meet Dec 8 07

Update:
My niece is doing much better this morning and I wanted to thank you all for saying a little prayer for her.

DGS has enlisted DrHug and I to chaparone school dance tonight. DGS chose to organize a dance with Techno music for his Senior Project. (he said he and his friends do not like to go to the dances because they always play Hip Hop :confused3 ) Money earned will be donate to the band program. He has done a great job, got a very popular DJ from local radio station for only $200, got many donations from local businesses. Free printing for the tickets, etc. So, DrHug will take a few photos for DGSs presentation that he will have to put together after, I will sell cookies or water or man (woman) the auction table or whatever he needs me to do. He said we would just need to be prepared to listen to 3 hours of Techno music. I'm not sure what that means, but......:scared:

I'm old so I don't know what Techo music is (I'll have to ask a young person here at work) but have fun. I hope I get to meet your DGS in January. I do know what HipHop is and I don't like it etiher.

Stefanie,
So glad your little niece is better. princess:

Angie,
Have fun at the dance! :cool1:

I just bought Bon Jovi tickets for June, when they are here in Brussels. :yay: :yay: This time I didn't even try to keep it a secret from Jas.

:cool1: You are going to have lots of fun at the Bon Jovi concert! I kid you not, I saw Bon Jovi in concert when I was in Brussels back in 1990. Goodness, I am starting to feel old. Bon Jovi are going to be here in April. Bill just rolled his eyes when I mentioned the concert. He really wants to go to the Van Halen concert here next week. However, he sacrificed going to that concert for the Hannah Montana concert. He even joked with some people at work about it. They're going to the VH concert and he's going to HM. If I can get a sitter, I may still try and get him tickets to VH. I have been getting the registration forms and shot records of the kids together for a local Playcare. It is a pay per hour babysitting, but in a day care type of environment. I am looking forward to a date with Bill without Cole. We have used the child centers at WDW on our past few trips. But, Cole still had to come with us because he is too young for the child care centers at WDW (four years old and up). A true "date night" is needed to keep my sanity.:headache:

We got total Techno immersion last night! We liked the music (reminded us a bit of Disco with more beat, but along the same line) and the kids had a great time. There were 5 boys who did all the orgainzation for this whole gig and the school staff that was there was AMAZED at how well it went and how much fun the kids had. They also were AMAZED at the amount of money the boys raised for the band. Over $1700 after all their expenses, which were few because they got almost everything donated. The school staff were also amazed that they got so much donated stuff. Anyway they are stoked and cannot wait for Monday when they can share with their band teacher how much money he is getting for his program. They were hoping to make at least $600.

:sad1: Sad News :sad1:

My niece (my little minnie mouse I showed off a few months ago) is very ill, she has been running 104 since Sunday and they have done every test on her imaginable and just can't find a way to help her. If everyone can please say a prayer for her tonight I would very much appreciate it.

Will do !

:cool1:

I have got some great news.. I hope to be training soon for a new job (part time at first). I am waiting for the paperwork to arrive. I am going to be an authorized Disney TA!!!!! :cool1:

Oooooh...very cool! I've always wanted to get some kind of job in the travel industry so I could write off part of my trips for taxes. :lmao: Back when DH and I had our own business, the tax breaks were unbelievable. Maybe I should look into something like that. I'm thinking... part-time, from home...what's not to love?? :thumbsup2

I'm glad she's doing better. I hadn't checked the thread in a couple days and saw this all at once. :grouphug: I hate seeing kids sick... it just makes it seem so much worse because they don't know why they feel so bad. :sad1:

That's awesome that he took on so much and got it all organized. That's the kind of thing he can put on a starter resume! And learning how to do things like that early, and building the confidence to do it is so great. I look back now and wish I'd done more things like that or taken internships, etc. Can't plan too much for the future these days!

I'm cleaning house all day today :laundy: (Wow.. I just noticed that the name for that emote is "laundy"... :rotfl: anyone else noticed that typo before?) My cousin and her husband are coming Thursday to stay for a night, so cleaning must be done! And if you guys thought I had a southern accent.... :lmao: My cousin was Miss Watermelon Queen of Grand Bay, Alabama her senior year of high school. ;)

:sad2: We had a really nasty storm here last night. (Brack, your son probably told you about it.). We woke up to our tree in the backyard knocked over. We were asleep during the storm. But, the newsman this morning said we had hail and strong winds last night. Today, it is just rainy. But, the forecast for this evening is . . .

SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kids love the Weather Channel. So, when they said it may snow of course they got excited.:dance3:

I am off to the store before it gets too bad. :goodvibes Everyone have a great day!

Jennifer:

It's so strange that you're expecting snow down there in Texas and it's almost 60 degrees here! It's actually a beautiful spring-like day today. Of course, we could get snow (and often have) as late as mid-April. This is one of the strangest winters that I can remember, and believe, me, I can remember a lot of winters!

Beth

Beth, I totally agree with you about this being a really strange winter. Yesterday it got up to 75 degrees and sunny and today it is 55 degrees and it's supposed to drop to below freezing tonight and snow tomorrow. And by the end of the week it's supposed to be up near 60 again!!! It's crazy!!!!!

Jennifer, I'm so sorry about the tree in your backyard. Was there any damage to your house?? Is everyone okay??
