DIS Meet Dec 8 07

Ooo, let me tell you I do NOT miss working in a bureaucracy one bit. When I start feeling frustrated at this SAHM gig, I just remember...meetings. Budgets. Pantyhose.
:scared1:

Be strong, my friend. ;)

At least we don't have a dress code--today it's jeans, tee shirt, blazer, sweat socks and sneakers--no pantyhose! Fortunately, I'm in a back-office position, so I rarely see anyone from the outside during the day. I still have to suffer through budget hearings and meetings:sad2:, but I can retire with full benefits in a little less than five more years! Next week starts the round of meetings with HUD when I'll have to fight with them over this report, but they'll see it my way sooner or later!

mommyoftwinfants, Did your boys have red hats autographed by the characters? If so, we talked in line after we left the ship and were waitng to clear immigration. The boys in the picture look like the boys with the red hats that their clever mom had autographed at guest services.

Hi All !! Checkin' In

I'm still sick, but I am hoping I am at the tail end of this Flu

My boss gave me off today and told me get better.. I can't be coughing on little kids all day.. :scared:

Spoke with DCL today about getting our Card and Survival Kit... They blame it on the fact that we have a PO Box as a mailing adress.. Even though they have our Physical address on file for UPS packages.. It's not our fault our little town has no individual mail delivery.. :snooty: I'd much rather have a mailbox on my street then have to go to the Post Office evey day for mail..

Stacy, we have a street address and still never ever received the survival kit. After our first cruise in 2000, DH got a card, I have never received a card. I called again yesterday, he told me allow 8 weeks for card. Last time I called they told me 12 weeks (which was over in November). I don't think I'll ever get one but at least I know my number now. We have cruised six times:confused3 I give up.

We set sail our 1st time in 2003.. We never got cards, but was told today expect it in 6-8 weeks.. :confused3 With 2 survival kits sent by UPS.. Why UPS is 6 - 8 weeks, I have no clue..

We shall see if we get anything.. I'll keep you posted..

No survival kit here either...we do have home delivery. ;) We did get a survival kit a couple of years ago with a broken CD in it. :sad2: They did not pack the CDs with any protection and most arrived broken. :upsidedow I called and they were not sending out replacements.

I got a survival kit today. No pins, but there was a cd, haven't had a chance to look at it though.

We got ours today, too. It's a CD which I haven't had time to look at yet. Maybe we're finally on the mailing list!

Stomping foot!! Where is my survival kit? How am I going to survive until May?? :scared:

I'm back home tonight

It was 4 degrees this morning when I left the hotel

Ok...really weird.

Got home and found the Shoreside Survivial Kit in the mail and wasn't surprised since some of you guys had said you'd been getting them.

But... no CD... I got a car magnet.... :confused3 The note said it was "exclusively for Castaway Club members." There was also a fold out of 2 postcards to request the DCL Vacation planning DVD and brochure.

I'll post a pic of the car magnet in a few mins if I can dig up my camera cables :)

Front and back. It's a sepia tone kinda thing. The sharpie is there for size reference :)

That was us:thumbsup2 and we got the hats for 50% off because they said 2007 but since this was the year of our very first cruise I wanted them to say 2007....:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I really enjoyed meeting everyone just wished we had to time to get to know each other...

We got this magnet last year. It was on my fridge until we put the house on the market, now it is in my bag of magnets that will go back on my fridge in our new place.......some day.

We recieved the CD yesterday........broken. Figures, we finally get something and it is broken.

Angie, we bought a new 66 book. EZ66 Guide For Travelers by Jerry McClanahan. It is spiral bound and has very good maps and tips. I bought it from Amazon.

:thumbsup2 We got our Shoreside Survival kit in the mail on Friday. We got the CD.

Does anyone know who sings the song "I'm On My Way" that they play at the Sail Away Party and at the Kid's Graduation? It sounds like Phil Collins. I want to find it for Emily. She loves to sing along to songs. I'm sure she'll have it memorized by our September cruise. :cool1:
