DIS Ladies Only Trip 2007 WISH!

You guys are doing so Great. Keep up the Good Work.

I think after the holidays Terry and I are both going to try and do some more exercising. I am just not go watching what I eat. Maybe if we did more exercise that might help.

I think that's the most challenging thing for me to change, is to exercise more. I really have no excuse, we have a fitness center here in the community. I would rather walk, I just need to make a commitment and do it.

After we stop getting take out, and eating out so much, it will be easier to cook, and eat lighter. With this move, I have done no baking, which is good, I guess. I feel like I'm missing Christmas!

I'm sure that things will be easier for everyone after the holidays, vacations, moving, etc etc etc.

Thanks for the congrats on my "little" weight loss girls.

We have to encourage us all to get up and excercise.

I know I don't do that at all. :sad2:
I keep thinking that maybe if I had a treadmill I would be excerising.
Then Cliff reminds me on the few things I bought on TV that I never use. :rolleyes1

We do have the Wii for Christmas I'm hoping that will get me moving abit. :)

No need to buy expensive equipment, unless you know for sure that you are going to use it. A couple years ago we bought a fairly expensive exercise bike, I was sure that I was going to use it faithfully. I've used it, but not that much. Frank "reminds" me of my commitment from time to time. Don't do it Joanne. :rotfl:

Debbie, you should be encouraging me to buy it- it's shopping . :rotfl:

I hope everyone had a great weekend and a good week coming up. :yay:

The excercising is the hardest part, I have owned my treadmill for about 6 years :rolleyes1 I would get in my moods from time to time and use it for a week or 2, but that's about it, not until we moved and I found a great spot for it in my room did I start using it more often, I started out doing only 15-20 minutes on it like every other day or so, eventually I worked my way up to an hour, I try to do it 4 - 5 times a week .... if you get past 30 minutes, it gets so much easier and you feel SO much better when you're done !!! it mentally gives you such a boost when you are done, you seriously will love how you feel  it helps to have your favorite music on your CD player or ipod, I have about 4 hours of "get me moving" music on mine :rotfl2:

Good Luck Everyone !!!! :yay:

Anita you have done great with the diet, AND the exercise. You're right, exercise boosts your energy level, and makes you feel so much better. It's just disciplining yourself to do it, even when you don't feel like it. It's the getting started that's the hard part. It's good to know that you had your treadmill for six years before you really started to use it. Makes me feel a little better.;)

Joanne, if you are really commited to using the treadmill, go for it! But if you buy one, and then don't use it, you'll kick yourself every time you look at it. Besides, shopping for a treadmill isn't that much fun. :rotfl: (I had one of those too, it went to Goodwill when we moved to Florida.

My treadmill made a nice filler for the corner of the basement before I started using it :confused3 so if you do get one Joanne, make sure it's pretty :rotfl:

Debbie, I suck this week !!!

I forgot to weigh myself yesterday, but I did this morning, I am showing a 1 pound gain, i'm disgusted about that, I did 20 miles on the treadmill last week and ate fairly well 5 out of 7 days, I did have Red Lobster one night and our bowling party was another, but I didn't go crazy at either, so whatever

Anita, don't beat yourself up. You are probably building muscle with all that walking on the treadmill. From onemorebite.com:

Fat is bulky and lumpy so if you carry an extra five pounds of fat, you'll be lumpier than with five pounds more muscle. A five pound pile of fat will take up more space (volume) than a five pound pile of muscle; but five pounds is still five pounds, so for those of you that don't "get" English, you cannot say one thing weighing a certain weight weighs more than another thing at that same weight. It's a common joke to play on an 8-year old. The correct way to state the muscle weighs more than fat scenario is, "Muscle is heavier by volume than fat."

A woman weighing 150 pounds with 19% fat will look much smaller (and be much healthier) than a woman at 150 pounds with 35% fat. They weigh the same, yet the composition is different. Because muscle is more dense than fat the person with less fat and more muscle will look smaller.

Stop being so obsessed with body weight and start paying attention to body composition. How much body fat do you have compared to muscle? Simply seeing how much you weigh isn't very helpful.

Thanks Debbie, that helped all of us! You're right, the scale isn't everything. :thumbsup2

Don't be so hard on yourself. 1 pound is nothing. You're doing a great job!

I don't think I could get a full treadmill because we don't have the room.
No basement sucks at time.
I do remember Catherine mention she had a foldable excerciser from Smarter Image that might do.

Thanks for that article Debbie !! it makes sense, but I still wonder then how the people on The Biggest Loser still manage to lose all those pounds and you know they have to be gaining muscle too :scratchin

I guess I need my own personal trainer, I think a dark haired good looking young guy will probably be able to show me how to do it right :confused3

I put on a couple of different pairs of jeans yesterday and couldn't wear either one because they were just too big, so I must be doing something right  Thanks for the encouragement !!!!!!!

:thumbsup2

Thanks Joanne ! and yeah, you could always get one of those fold up space saver excercisers if you think you'll use it :rotfl:

Thanks for that article Debbie. Sometimes I think I get so discouraged when the weight fluctuates.

I finally went back to my gym. My congestion is going away and I felt I could breathe easy. Man..... I've only been not going for about 3 weeks or so... and this class was hard as heck!!!! :rotfl:

I remembered to weigh myself today, I'm up 2 lbs. :sad2: That's okay though... I'm going to get it under control starting today! :woohoo:

:scared:

How's everyone doing? I think I am a gainer. I don't see an end in sight until next week. My husband gave me a 2# box of chocolates from my favorite candy shop. And, he had it hand packed with all of my favorites. I suppose just one a day would not be so bad.....:sad2:

That's a great attitude to have Wendy :cool1: we're all going to start hitting the weight loss track hard once the New Year hits !!

:rotfl: I think you'll be okay having one a day, think of it as a treat every afternoon, if you have a piece early enough, you can always work it off :cheer2:

Well, I weighed myself the day after Christmas and much to my dismay, I was up 3 pounds  BUT I weighed myself this morning and the pounds are gone, so who knows where they came from and where they disappeared to :confused3

I have been good since Christmas and plan to be good until NYE, I am taking that night off !! I already got rid of most of the food we had lying around, both my kids have had several friends over so I have been making them all EAT :rotfl2: I had some Fannie May candy too that some of my guests brought, I gave it all to my MIL who is a sweats junkie ! it's easier for me if I just don't see the stuff

Girls, I am so proud of ya'll keeping this up! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Now who is going to come down here and kick my **** and get me started? :headache:

Maybe you and I could kick each other's ****!! I can't seem to get motivated either. I keep telling myself after the New Year I will, but I don't know. I mean, how many New Years in the past have I said that and nothing happened?

I am thrilled for those of you who are keeping at it. That is really impressive. :cool1: :woohoo:

Can I help kick both your a$$es :hyper:

Well, maybe getting sick and missing the New Year's festivities helped with my year end weight.

So, tomorrow I am back to calorie counting. I am shooting for 1000-1200 per day.

:wave2: Hello Ladies! With everything going on the last few weeks I have completely lost track of everything. Now that things are finally calming down though I feel that I'm going to be able to get into my routine. :woohoo:
