This thread is to try and pick official dates for the next DIS Ladies Only trip. If I can figure out how to do a poll. :thumbsup2

Please vote and if your selection requires an elaboration, elaborate. :thumbsup2

I voted other. Only because if you could go the week before Thanksgiving say around the 14th - 18th you will still have low crowds, nice weather and a lot of the decorations will be up. :thumbsup2

So everyone could get what they wanted. :)

I voted early November. I know next year for Thanksgiving we will either be traveling to Alabama, or having DH's family here. I just don't think a trip right then would work for me. Plus I usually have a Christmas party the first weekend of December.

Although reading what Trish wrote, right before Thanksgiving, might work for me too.

I voted for the last week of November since we went that time frame last year so I know the weather is nice, the crowds were low and the decorations are really something to see, and I'm not even a big fan of Christmas, but they were impressive.

But I think Trish's idea is a good one too. :confused3

Out of everyone I think I will be able to switch my dates around without too much trouble (knock on wood). So I guess my biggest request is the weather be under 80 degrees, more like 70-75 or lower. lol
When I'm hot, I'm not happy no matter where I am.

So, there you have it. :teeth:

I posted on the other thread but I will post here too. The problem I see with Trish's dates is that you are flying home a couple of days before Thanksgiving. Some people go away for the full week and if not, getting a ticket that day is probably going to cost some money since its a high travel time. Personally, I love that week before Thanksgiving because its usually pretty dead, but going up to the 20th could cause some issues.

Thats just my thoughts on it. :thumbsup2

I think you guys know my preference--the week right after Thanksgiving. I'm planning on Thurs Nov. 28th until Dec. 3 or 4th. We're home for Thanksgiving next year, going to VA for Christmas. I'm busy at work the last 2 weeks of Oct-beginning of Nov. And I've always wanted to go at that time of year.

But I don't have a problem with a solo trip. I don't plan to do any TS. I just want to do a park a day, stay at a value (maybe POP), and every night, go look at a different resort. I thought I'd have some fun with that: when I go to MGM or Epcot, I'll get on the first resort bus that arrives! When I'm at MK, I'll take the monorail over to the Poly or the Grand Floridian or CR. Plus some DTD time.

I voted week after Thanksgiving, only because of the Christmas decorations and I think the weather will be nice. I'll know more shortly if that's the right choice, lol.

Early November has Jersey Week *no offense to anyone, it just makes crowds higher* and soap week.

We have been several times the week before Thanksgiving and it's usually a very good week with good weather and crowd level, with the crowds gradually growing heavier as you near the weekend. I would think that 11/14-11/19 would be a safe bet.

Airfare for me is going to be expensive regardless of when the trip is

Thanks for posting the poll Kat :)

Tammy, didn't you say you would not be attending because you would be going with your family at some point late next year? Maybe I misunderstood. Wouldn't be the first time. :rotfl:

How will we be able to spend time with one another at night if it's too chilly to sit outside?

I think the POP people know from experience on the last trip that
sitting outside at night was the way they really got to know one another.

that 2012 date I set earlier is looking better all the time now! :lmao:

hi homies..

check the pop warner site for their plan dates for 2007.

this year it is the end of november first part of december and they fill up quickly at pop resort for those rooms. i did disney only once when the sports events were there and the food courts were packed, not to mention the increase of crowds. i stay away when pop warner is in town there.

also find out the dates for mousefest for 2007. it usually falls the first week of december.

i only mention this as you have the end of nov, first part of december in the poll. you considered to by pass the soap opera weekend time period but pop warner is another busy time also. the value resorts fill quickly and they book in advance.

Subscribing - I didn't see a place to vote? Is it on another thread? I would personally prefer the week aftger Christmas - or even better during free dining!!!

I completely forgot about Pop Warner. That can be a zoo!

We have ruled out free dining (if there even is free dining next year - it is not a guaranteed thing - especially I would expect after this very calm hurricane season) because that time frame was when we had it this year and it was too hot. :sunny:

I like early November because I have it blocked off for WDW already...and then I can go to Vegas in December.

Crap. I forgot about all that stuff. Maybe late Nov./early Dec. won't work.

Hi Mac!!! Good to see you!! Thanks for the info.
I am so clueless when it comes to other yearly events that take place there like Soap week-end, and Pop Warner. In fact, WTH is Pop Warner??? lol

Take it easy

ETA: I checked their website. I remember them now. Last year when we went right after Thanksgiving and I was reading the theme park boards there was all this talk of Pop Warner. It freaked me out! lol
But we ended up only over lapping with them for like a day or two and I didn't notice any increase in the park attendance. Can't say anything about the resorts as we were offsite.
I guess it depends on when you go and how much of your trip overlaps with theirs.

http://www.popwarner.com/

this year pop warner are using all star sports and music and port orleans.
that makes me think in 2007, they will go back to pop century for rooms.

pop warner is a sports, including cheerleaders, national organization for mostly young people 17 and under. if you open the link and go to nationals, you will see the listing where the nationals wil be played. each year disney gets the cheerleaders and football playoffs. disney offers these groups extended stays of packages for 6 nights as the families usually make it a vacation after the playoffs are over.

like kat said, it is a zoo at that time.

when i do early winter trips, i always check out pop warner before doing ressies. i got stuck once with that large group but that will never happen again. i wised up.

you might be better off with the soap weekend than the pop week crowds.
soap weekend fills mgm up but the rest of the parks are a hit and miss on crowds. depends on how long people extend their stays. many go just for a 3 day weekend.

i have been staying on site at disney since 1993.
there is one other group i stay away from but don't think i can mention it here.

catch you later homie :wave2:
