**DIS Girly Weekend 2010** ~ IT'S OVER :(

Hey ladies,
I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it :sad2:

Even though the airfare wasn't too bad, all the wedding invites for the year have started rolling in, and what with presents to buy and hotel stays, I can't really afford another trip anywhere :sad1:

The only way I can think around it is if I get a train to London Kings Cross, and then I could get a tube from there, if anyone is travelling from the central London area that I could hitch a lift to Southampton and back with?
Cheeky I know, but it's my last hope!

I really hope you can get something sorted Meryll.

I am still living in hope.

Corinna

I've got my fingers crossed for you Corinna ::yes::

Unfortunately I will not be able to make it :sad2: .... we are highly likely to be booking for a few days in Disneyland Paris in July which will limit my time off for the rest of the school holidays. Hopefully 2011 :wizard:

Sorry you won't be able to make it Sarah, maybe next year ? :)

Got my dress for the Saturday night at the weekend. Can't find a photo of it online though to show you. Its a bit 80's and from M&S.

sounds good Claire - I've gotta get a move on with the outfit thing- still hoping to lose some weight :goodvibes

Just to confirm then the Saturday night is a 'dress up' night?

If so have the ideal dress that I bought last weekend for a friend's wedding in June :)

Just bumping this up as less than 3 months to go. :cool1:

so is it an 80's style night out on Sat?
think everyone should post pics of possible outfits to give me some ideas. ;)
Im going to need to go shopping as i cant remember the last time i went out. :goodvibes

Nothing's been set in stone, but it could be Flares (70's club) on the Friday night and then Reflex (80's club) on the Saturday night. I can't see me rushing out to wear flares or leg warmers, but I'm looking forward to wearing a couple of nice dresses that weekend

:dance3: Nat & I were talking about the Girly Weekend the other day, and we're really looking forward to it :dance3:

cool, i'll prob just find a nice dress :)

I cant wait either, got a busy summer. :cool1:
shame no trip to Disney though..............

Hiya,
been a while since I checked in, got very excited when the countdown went to double digits :-)! I'm not sure I have any 70s/ 80s gear so may have to be my normal dresses lol.
I know this question may have an answer such as how long is a piece of string but how much should I be budgeting for the weekend? I can't imagine I'll be doing any shopping but trying to figure it out. What do you generally end up spending?
2 dinners, 2 club nights, drinks etc. I'm worried about money right now generally as you can tell.
Any guidance would be great xx

I can't recall what I spent but guess as there's so many of us we'll probably pre-book the restaurants and use their set menus so hopefully that'll keep the costs down.. :thumbsup2

So, on that note, when can we decide about where/what to eat etc..??? :goodvibes

Flares one night and Reflex the other sounds like a good plan Mandy.

Oh I like most foods, but love Italian, Chinese or American :)

Just checked the trains, the weekend before ours is now available so next week everyone should be able to check train times & tickets prices.

Fab news!!! Can't wait...

Things might be starting to look up. Last week we were given the first draft of our new rosters. We just had 5 new team leaders confirmed and today they interviewed for two more. So our rosters are changing. We will only work 3 weekends in 9 now instead of 2 in 5. We do not know when the new roster starts, but I checked the three most likely starting dates and for two of them, I would have the weekend for the Girlie weekend off. I have just the dress (or should I say dresses to bring as well).

Corinna

that sounds promising Corinna, fingers crossed you can make it after all:goodvibes
