I'm off to Southampton soon, so I'll figure out where we can escape the dreaded Primark stop off

I will have to check the roster to see what my movements are that weekend. My leave is pretty much maxed out with two long cruises, but if I have the weekend off, I will have a lieu day that I will have to use by the end of August that I could use on the Friday. I can fly down standby on Flybe and I can get airline staff rates at the Novotel. Of course, I have to keep this secret from DH's family as otherwise there is not a hope in hell that I will stay at a hotel. They live near Southampton.

That's great if you can get some discounts too Corinna, I hope you can make it

Doesn't look like it's too far from the station to Novotel... I like that...

The station is just across the road from the Novotel, there is a free bus service that links the station, the shops and the waterfront area that runs every few minutes.

What's at the Waterfront Jen ? Is that where there used to be a Harry Ramsdens and shopping area a few years ago and it was made into what looks like luxury apartments and bars. I've only driven past, and didn't notice what was there

I was going to suggest meeting up for a coffee Claire. I am weighing up driving Vs trains at the mo so will let you know what I find, but it definately makes sense to travel together. I quickly looked last night & we kind of meet Karen half way so we can all go together.

The whole photo thing worries me.....I HATE having my photo taken.

i used to work front desk at that hotel, years ago, pool is nice normally v quite amd loads of good restaurants locally too!!
try tesco ccpoints for discount rate
accor hotels will hold 3/4 if you wish to double up...
so sorry i cant be there!
