Ok, that has got to rank up there with the Esplanade in Boston on the 4th of July and Time Square on NYE, as the top places I do NOT want to be. That has got to be insane. The potty issue would get me too.

Anyone else watching it on ABC? I'm not sure if its just ABC doing this, but they keep playing the Illumination song. And as bad as I feel for Kennedy, when it first happened was anyone else thinking, "Buckwheat has been shot!". It was actually getting comical. Yeah I think the media is overdoing things.

I missed it...what happened to Kennedy? I went to drag stuff up from the basement for the ski trip then I went out to the grocery store (hitting Costco on Thurs w/ my neighbor). I see the parade is on now...looks like the stands a bit empty...I'm sure a lot of people have given up from the cold and it just being a LONG day down there. I wonder why they ever picked January to do this whole thing? The coldest month of the year here.

The was def. the biggest crowd ever here. They're saying crowd estimates are around 1.8 million on our local news. If you've never been down there it is REALLY FAR from the White House to the other end by the Washington Monument and it was PACKED. They said there were plenty of port-a-johns but that the food & drink lines were about 1 hr. long! They were not allowed to bring any bags or coolers so they had no choice really if they wanted stuff.

So for my assignment this weekend I have taken Saturday night to cook dinner for the group (24 of us). Means I have to stay sober at least one night!! LOL! I am making 6 (or maybe 7) boxes of Penne with my Vodka Sauce and Pancetta. Well, I am probably making 1/2 with Pancetta & 1/2 vegetarian... I am going to run by Panera Bread on Friday and get some of their Foccacia Breads to bring... Someone else volunteered to make a salad. Two years ago I made chili. I think I used something like 6 Lbs. of meat (2/3 beef 1/3 turkey). We divide up all the meals. 3 people took breakfasts and someone else took Sunday eve. dinner. She's making a ham & scalloped potatoes. Monday night will be leftovers. We'll get some lunchmeats & stuff for lunches...but I think we'll mostly be eating at the ski lodge for lunch. It's a pain to pack sandwiches or to go back to the house.

I called yesterday & got private ski lessons for me & DS at 10:00 on Saturday morning. I still suck at it and will always benefit from a lesson. For DS I will just feel better if he has a little more instruction since he's better than I'll ever be and I can't follow him. He didn't have any lessons last year. He'll have his own instructor who can help him exactly where he needs it. I am afraid he's reckless and I hope they will remind him of some safety things too. I hope anyway.

Kennedy had a seizure, but is said to be doing fine at the hospital now. But when it happend they were asking every person they saw "What happend to Kennedy?" and they would reply "It appears he had some sort of a seizure"..."What Happened to Ted Kennedy?" "He seems to have had a seizure"..."You were there, what happened to Ted Kennedy?" "I can't really say, but he seems to have collapsed from a seizure". Then Charlie Gibson says "ABC news has confirmed Senator Ted Kennedy has sufered a seizure". And it went on..... Just like "Buckwheat has been shot!" on SNL.

It is Florida cold tonight. Supposed to be 39 here on the beach. I suspect it is at least 5 degrees colder where Betsy and Rick live. That is usually the difference. I am a wimp after living in So. Fl. for over 40 years so I put a REAL blanket on my bed tonight. I can't imagine how cold it must have been on the mall today. The dress and coat Michelle Obama wore, while pretty, didn't look warm to me. Past first ladies at least wore coats that looked warm. I am afraid I would have been in boots, tights and long coat. I am not a fashion person, however.

Hehehe! We are getting above freezing tomorrow, 34, and maybe hit 40 on Friday. The funny thing is on the 5 day forecast where it showed 40, it actualy said "mild". ROFL! Even for me 40 is not close to mild.

Ya'll would hate my house! LOL...since I keep the thermostat on 61 during the day after DS and DH leave! I am lucky to maintain an inside temp of 59/60 during the day!! I can't make it w/o my layers, blankets and fingertip-less gloves! I love having reasons to go out to the store to run errands 'cuz I have heat in my car!!

Sigh....need to do AGAIN.

I see one line of pics that ends with the moose and VWL groupies. Then below that on the left I see the horse and SSR, but that’s it. I would say if you want the ticker to show, move that above the pics….maybe? You know you are talking to MS technical here, don’t you?

Yep, still an agent. About a year ago they told us we were gong to have to decide if we wanted to stay on as agents or mods. That went by the wayside and I signed on Monday to see I was no longer a mod. Sue Ellen is in the same boat.

So, Katie...who is "they said"? Dreams or The DIS? I'm sorry...But think about how much more "free time" you will have!

OK, I need some cooking advice!! Have any of you ever pre-cooked large batches of pasta and kept it until you were ready to use it? Thinking of cooking my Penne on Friday and storing it somehow in big Ziplock bags...or some of it anyway. Maybe 3 boxes worth. But I know I still have to re-heat it there...dunno if it's really just as easy to wait to cook it up there??? If you pre-cook it do you UNDERcook it by a few min.?? Do you leave it in some water in the ziplocks or drain it completely?? Do you think it would save anything in the end if you were cooking 6 boxes? Anyone????

OK, so I am not happy with this goofy primary care doctor I saw last week. First, she is difficult to talk to and has a thick accent...I am frustrated with her. I know that she is missing something. She said the Xrays of my back show Scoliosis and Degenerative Joint Disease (Osteo) in my Lumbar Spine and Sacroiliac Joints. How's that for a mouthful? I already knew I had Osteo so that doesn't help. But she was like not much to do about it - live with it. She said she didn't see anything to explain this pain I am having on my tailbone & I still think this sharp pain I get in my back sometimes is being caused by something else that she is missing. It is not an arthritic pain - it's different. Meanwhile, this Mobic stuff helps a little but as soon as I USE my arm it hurts again. It hurts when I write, when I lift ANYTHING (even a glass). So...I made an appt. for tomorrow am with an Orthopedic Surgeon place. I went out to the Radiologist & picked up copies of my Xrays & the report to take. I just hope he can do or suggest something beside therapy. I can't do that right now. They charge a co-pay everytime you go and our co-pays are high. Figured I'd start with Orthopedics then see if I need to find a Rheumatologist. Probably do. But one thing at a time.
