DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

christmas-125.gif

I hope the holidays treat everyone well and may we all have a better New Year! :grouphug:

You right-coasters....try to stay safe and warm!:goodvibes

So-o the water mains can't handle all of this freezing cold weather...we had a 66 inch line break in the lower part of the county this morning...it trapped people in their cars in the heart of Bethesda in the middle of rush hour in this freezing cold weather! It's far enough away that WE still have water but it was such a large, major break it affects A LOT of the county...so they had to close schools early and all of the office buildings in the city etc. So SURPRISE...DS got to start his vacation early!

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fLweoOmYiYo

I heard this on the news earlier and my first thought was, I hope you and family are Ok. I didn't know just how close you are to it. Glad its not affecting you too much though. Not having water is not fun.

Thanks Ronnie Jo! Will try. Its supposed to warm up tomorrow, after a nice rain/sleet mix for the morning commute.

Katie/Annie: all I can says is::faint: :cold: Dougie has been sleeping in his long underwear for the past week. It's been an icy 45 here. I don't think my thin blood would do well in near zero temperatures. Stay warm and safe. You too SE.

The DIS-G's seem to be missing. Hm....

I am most distressed that Betsy's box did not make it to her. I mailed a box to all the DIS Peeps. If'n you didn't get yours, please PM me. I've NEVER had a box NOT make it to its destination. And, no I didn't get a traking number (not one of Phyllis's brighter moves)

Happy Christmas Eve to all!!! We have 6 tomorrow and 12 Christmas Day. Chris is making the traditional German dish (rouladen) and family is helping bring the rest. I LOVE family.

One more thing: Babs and i went next door to invite the recently widowed neighbor to Christmas Day. He actually started crying he was so touched. Since his wife passed away 6 months ago, I guess he's been pretty lonely. And they have 10 kids!!!!! I can't imagine. I just hope we don't scare him away.

I have been fighting with UPS this week. I mailed Kathy and Ed's box on 12/10/08 and went on line last Sat. and tried to track it because it had not arrived in SC. No record of it! First thing Mon. morning I was at UPS door when they opened up. It appears they tried to deliver it 4 times with no response so it was enroute back to So. Fl. I told them that was impossible because my son-in-law worked out of the house and was there a good bit of the time. My daughter thinks they were trying to deliver it to a vacant house across the street. I went back to UPS this morning and it was there again! It was marked "moved-undeliverable" I pitched a fit and when I finished raving and ranting, the guy was apologizing over and over. He remarked it to remail and he talked to the supervisor and was told the regular driver had a trainee on board and they must have made a mistake--NO JOKE!!!:scared1: They now tell me the package will arrive there on the 29th or 30th. It so happens the 30th is Brittany's birthday so she will get her Christmas and birthday present together. So much for packing and mailing early to assure it will arrive on time.

...I found out this weekend that our neighbor directly behind us (one of DH's Redskin buddies) is leaving tomorrow to go on the Christmas cruise on the Wonder! It is their first cruise...they're surprising their kid. What a Christmas surprise 'eh? They only just booked it about 3 weeks ago...I was surprised there was any availability...hate to think what they ended up paying last minute!:scared: But lucky them...

YOU INVITED 10 KIDS OVER FOR CHRISTMAS???? :scared1: If that doesnt get you to Heaven nothing will. No seriously, you are a sweetheart. :goodvibes

I just wanted to thank everyone for the gifts and cards. I loved seeing everyone on the cards. Great pics, everyone. :goodvibes And I really am touched you guys all thought of us over the holidays. You all aren't just "people we cruised with", I really feel like we have made friends this year(well actually online last year, but, you know). :grouphug:

I hope you all enjoy everything over the next few days and the running around has paid off. We have Christmas Eve here tonight(12 of us) after church. We just get Chinese food so thats easy. Tomorrow we visit family.

Hey there peeps (if anybody's out there)! Happy Christmas Eve!!:grouphug: I also feel blessed to have made new peep friends over the past year! Let's do hope 2009 is a turn-around for our country and that all of the peeps with health problems feel better too!!!

This evening we're going to an open house at a neighbors house...USUALLY spend Christmas Eve at MIL's but she opted for us to come over on Christmas Day this year instead since we're not going to WV until Friday evening.

Gert - if you get a chance to check in...happy birthday to DD1!! Hope you guys manage to have a good holiday even tho you are displaced!

Sue Ellen - more hugs to you and your family!

Oh...what the heck - more hugs for everyone!! :grouphug:

Only have one more hour till I can go home

Betsy!! Go home!! Oh and thanks for the Hershey kisses!!:lmao: :lmao: Kay see I bought you this bag of "naughty" kisses. They are wrapped in black tin foil and say "naughty" on all the little papers. Reminded me of you. So anyways, went to mail them. Did not have your address with me. RJ nor Phyllis answered their cell phones to help me out with address. Soo....I ate them.:lmao: They were yummy!:lmao:

Phyllis - DH brought package with him down to Moms last night!:thumbsup2 Gifts are under the tree.

Xmas cards got misplaced during the move so when I find them I will send them out. Hope I beat my Easter record of 2 years ago!!:rotfl: Hopefully I will get all yalls gifts mailed when I get back to the ranch. Seem to have not brought them with me.:headache:

Merry Christmas to all of you Peeps! Stay safe and warm.

Brother is now pushing me to get on Facebook so expect to find me there whenever I get the PC hooked back up.:hippie:

Ok will check in next week. Hopefully I will have PC up and running. Hugs to everyone. You are all in our prayers.

Katy and I are on our way up to Betsy's for Christmas. She has been with me since Mon. We will come back here on Fri. some time. Betsy and Rick have a wedding on Sat. to attend. Katy doesn't have to be back in school until Jan. 6th so she will be staying with me for the duration. Hope she doesn't get bored. Hope all of you have a wonderful holiday. :santa:

Hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Ophie and I had a nice few days at Disney's Hilton Head Island resort before coming up to NC to hang with the family. We did lots of eating...but did manage to see Savannah, GA for a day. We were lucky enough to have lunch at Paula Dean's restaurant, Lady and Sons. It was fantastic! I highly recommend it. Well we are off for more eating. Miss you all! Have a magical evening.
:santa: :grouphug:

We are already done!
Santa was VERY good to me this year!! I got an iphone (well, I got the card redeemable for the iphone..have to go tomorrow to get it!!) and an All Clad multicooker stock pot!! I really wanted this!!!

now I feel like going back to bed..why does christmas take months to prepare for and minutes to undo???

GOOD MORNING PEEPS,

We just wanted to let everyone know that we were thinking of all our Peeps and hope all of you have a very MERRY CHRISTMAS.

We wish we all could be together with our peeps on such a Magical day

Everyone one enjoy and be safe today.

Love,

The DIS D's

P.S., Tyler says Merry Christmas to all his friends he made and misses them all.

Merry Christmas Peeps!:santa:

Santa came here a little after Midnight I think. We were at the neighbors ALL evening...very nice...lots of neighbors there...the couple that does this open house get large catering size things from Carrabbas (Chicken Marsala...sausage...lasagne etc.) Yummmmmy.

Santa seemed to do OK this year, despite his tight budget. The bargain $15 games from Costco proved to be just as good as the newer more $$$ games for Jared. I got a new set of long underwear & a bird book so I can try to figure out what all the different birds are that I have visiting my feeder. Some are obvious of course, but then sometimes I don't know WHAT is out there. :confused3

We splurged and turned on the fireplace (gas) while opening presents so it was all toasty warm & cozy for awhile. I made macadamia nut pancakes with fresh blueberries & sausages for breakfast. :scared: I am still in my PJ's! Now it's time to shower & get ready to go over to MIL's for presents & dinner at 2:00.

Hope everybody has a wonderful day!:grouphug:

We survived another holiday season. It was fun, but I'm glad its done. :)

It sounds like it went well for those who posted. Thats good. Besty, enjoy the phone. RJ, I hope Kimmie is enjoying her guitar. T&P, tell Tyler Cam said Hi and Merry Christmas too. I could tell he was happy to "hear from him" when I relayed the message. :) Annie, I hope you day continued being good too.

Things went well here. The kid got a Wii form Santa and love it (remember their first experience...or Peter's first I should say, on the cruise?). We spent the morning at my parents for breakfast and this afternoon at my sisters for dinner. As I get older I'm appreciating family more. We really have more laughs together. I'm lucky!

Now I have a funny for you all. We were in the car on the way home and the 12 Pains of Christmas was on. The kids asked whats a hangover? Then Cam piped up "oh, isnt that the Jewish Holiday?" (Passover). I was glad I wasnt driving or I would have pulled over I was laughing so hard.

Well, I should try to get some order going in this house. Tomorrow 2 of my friends are coming by to visit, 1 with 4 daughters. Plus my niece's boyfriend is coming up for a visit (he lives about 1 hour away) so they may stop in too. Looks like I have to entertain all over again. But at least I dont have to go anywhere so thats nice. Peter is working though. :(

Hey ya'll....my internet was out all morning (early). Just got home from swimming (10-11:00) and saw that the internet was back up so I am just popping in to say I hope everybody has a good weekend... I got a lot going on today. Just threw DS into the shower to get that chlorine washed out...then I will feed him some lunch and finish packing for our trip to WV... Then I am going to run out to get gas & do a quick (I hope) exchange on something... DH is supposed to leave work around 3:00 so we can head out. I would LIKE to be over the mountains before dark but it ain't gonna happen if we don't leave until 3:30 but so OH WELL.

Anyway - hope somebody holds down the fort with the thread while I am gone (and plays with my pet on FB)!!:rotfl: Will be back home on Sunday! Likely won't be online over the weekend.... So TTYL!!
