DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

Anne! How exciting. And I agree pictures are a must!

Katie!! How did you train DH!? If Stymie headed off and I started "Oh and could you.." "NO". The end.:rotfl2:

Did DD birthday party at the movie theatre today. I think the kids had fun but the premise was she could have a big party and invite lots of kids 'cause you know, moving, and so yep. Um. Movie theatres are dark and oh yeah there is a moving playing. Huh Mom did not really think of that DUH. So she did not really get to "visit" with many of the kids. Mom is thinking $$ down a rat hole. But it's over so I am done with it.

Then we rested - Stymie watched Florida beat Alabama. Dad read a book and I took a nap. And then DD walked in Tracy's Christmas Parade with the Girl Scouts. That was fun. But cold. Linden actually enjoyed so that helps. Then we ate dinner at Four Corners. Think little family restaurant with barn wood walls were the farmers eat. Good food.

Now folding laundry. Linden has been bathed and is in bed. DD is bothering me. Lots of gifts to "show" me.

OK have to do something. Feeling like I am spinning my wheels around here. Its starting to drive me crazy. Stymie better watch out.:rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Stay warm!! Oh and no earthquake here??:confused3

Mornin ya'll!!

Well, we got our first real dusting of snow last night...and the roads were wet underneath so it promptly froze on everything and since the roads hadn't been treated at all yet this year there were lots of accidents. Lots of black ice. I hate winter driving.:scared: I just keep repeating "turn with the skid, turn with the skid"!:lmao: Always a relief to just get where I'm going w/o incident.

We got the wreaths put on the door & front windows yesterday & DH put the rope lights around the front door & garage doors but did not do the shrubs. I don't know if we'll do them or not. Just can't decide.:confused3 I guess I will put the candles in the windows sometime this week. I figure we can just wait until next weekend to start turning stuff on. Save a little bit on the elec. bill that way. OH, and DS and I put up our little 4 1/2' tree in the basement.

Gert - when is DD's birthday? Wish her happy b-day for us! I thought about doing a movie party for DS...I think our movie theater has a room where they can "party" for a bit before or after the movie.

OK, must get moving...stuff to do before swimming.

Saving us from page 2.

I need the address list too. Who is the keeper of said list??:confused3

ME!! I will meet up with ya! Esp. since at 6:30 PM my thermometer reads only 22.8!! AND we have 30-40 MPH winds ON TOP OF THAT little number!!:scared1: It is well down into the teens here!:cold:

I just went thru some of DS's old stuff for EOY donations. 1 beeg, beeg bag for "Value Village" and 2 beeg bags for my friend's grandson!:rotfl2: One of those is actually shoes & snow boots that were hardly worn and snow suits / bibs etc. I am BAD about keeping his stuff cleaned out. When he outgrows things I move stuff up onto his shelf in his closet and it ends up folded up there in stacks & stacks until they're like 3' tall. Then once a year (usually in Dec.) I clean off the shelf and give a bag to my friend & a bag to the Salvation Army or whoever. THEN I go thru the stuff that's hanging and fold it up & start new piles!:rotfl2: Her grandson is bigger than DS was at his age but he's only in like 1st grade or something so there is quite a size difference between them. So my rationale to do it this way is so that I can give her some hand-me-downs. She wants the "good stuff" but doesn't want it YET. So I keep stuff around longer than I should until he's ready for it. If that makes any sense.:confused3

Well, must go think about dinner ideas... let me know where we shall meet for shopping!:rolleyes1

VERY cool! But refresh my memory please! Is this family or friends that do this? (I see they have a Hidden Mickey over the garage!):goodvibes I have looked at those sychronized light timer things...since we're cutting back this year it wasn't the year to do it...but maybe another year. I don't know how they have the TIME to do all that! Up here it's so much colder we'd have to start much earlier.

Annie:

It is Betsy's BIL and nephew that do those lights.....and they start putting them up right after Halloween

Cool lights!

LOL! DH is good about running out to do errands. He cant sit still, so if I need something done he usually will do it. Which is good because with this job I hardly ever leave the house anymore. :headache:

So you know we are in the 20s today with a high of 27. Earlier they were saying it was 0 with the windchill. But by Wed we will be close to 60...with rain and winds that will prevent planes from flying in Wed night, and then with a mix of crap Thurs morning so that any planes that did make it in will not go out (ok my mind is running wild with the worst case scenarios right now, but, do you blame me???). I AM SO FREAKING OUT OVER THIS!!! I dont even care that its going to be crappy weather in Orlando, I just want to be there.
I bought a corny CD yesterday (cant even admit what it is) but I told the kids if Im stuck home this weekend Im playing it all weekend long. :lmao:

Mornin' ya'll!

Katie - are you flying Jet Blue again? Is that why you are so freaked out? I would probably expect a couple hours of delays but you'll make it. What happened to you last summer was definitely a freakish thing! You must think positive! (BTW, one thing that helped my MIL last weekend was that my BIL had booked her last leg in First Class - so she was able to get onto that 3rd flight. You might want to think about upgrading if things get messy! Might get you on sooner if there ARE cancellations! That might be something you can do at the airport.:confused3 )

Well, it is supposed to stay in the 20's, maybe hit 30 today here too...at least the wind stopped. My front door was whistling yesterday it was so blustery! It was 19 when I went to bed last night and 21 when I got up this morning (heat wave!):rotfl: We are also supposed to warm up for this rain on Wed. I think I will be burning a lot of gas today. Since it's so cold it would be warmer for me to go run errands and be in the stores than stay at home freezing to death. (I am wearing 3 layers up top, 2 layers on the bottom + I have a throw over my lap, 2 pr. of heavy wool socks + slippers & my finger-tip-less gloves & ear muffs right now!:rotfl2: ) The skis are supposed to be ready to be picked up so I can go there & pick those up...then I need some mailing labels, a Hickory Farms type gift for someone and a little something for DS's little pen pal. Do not know if I will hit the grocery store - might save that "event" for tomorrow.

DS and I have dentist appts. at 4:30 then swimming at 6:00...that's why I said I will be burning a lot of gas today...lots of running around.

(PS) I also need some names from this famous missing list!!

Oh Bets, I hope the eye is ok.

Yep Annie, Jet Blue. We had it booked with them before the July fiasco or I wouldnt have. ;) A few hours I could deal with, we would miss lunch at Kona, but thats ok. Even late Thursday night and Id miss the Jellyrolls meet, I could still handle that. But if its not until Friday or Saturday, then I don't think Id bother going. :( I dont think JB has first class, do they? I know I am probalby overreacting. I'm not usually a drama queen like this, but that experience was really horrible and I think mentally Im trying to prepare for the worst so I'm hopefuly pleasantly surprised. Thank you all for entertaining my fears. ;)

annie..you are going to be here??
Are you sure you can't ditch the aunt for a hot toddy??

xmas174.gif

Today is Monday, December 8th.....that means you have :scared1: shopping days left until Christmas!

Ok, ok...I prolly have "the list" y'all are talkin' about. PM me with what you need, I'll do my best to help you. :goodvibes

Awesome light display as always. :thumbsup2 I do so luv the WDW light spectacular whose name escapes me right now.

Gots to take Dad to the airport today. Back to Wichita. Then I will be alone in my misery. UGH. Not that Dads are good at daughters misery but at least he was here. Ya know. That has been killing my mom.:rotfl2: But sometimes moms, daughters and misery are a bad mix. Ho hum.

Think I need to go househunting again. Oh RJ....whatchu doing this week? I told Stymie I was just going to go buy a house without him.

Cold still here. Up to 49 today. Then upper 50s by the end of the week. Almost bikini weather again so thats nice.

OK gona get leetle pirate dressed.:thumbsup2

well...if someone PARTICIPATED more..I would mention them!!:rotfl:

I have to go to the eye dr this morning..left eye is total fog..this seems highly unnormal!:confused3

don't pick on me! (afterall, you don't return text messages... - not sure what one has to do with the other but I couldn't find anything else to pick on you for) - these two yung'uns get me busy. Lots going on. All gray hair producing stuff I won't bore everyone with.

Hope your eye is ok. Scary stuff not seeing normally.

TRM- good luck on the househunting.

:grouphug: to Anne, Annie, Katie, Sean and Linda, SE and her gang, TZM and ophie (who don't participate much anymore either),

ok, off to Christmas shop :sad2: (no likey the crowds - patience is NOT one of Phyllis's virtues). What do you get for a 21-year old brother in college?

annie..you are going to be here??
Are you sure you can't ditch the aunt for a hot toddy??

Me thinks ya got me confused with Katie!:rolleyes1 I can see that happening since we both live up north & all!:rotfl2:

What's up with your eye? Diagnosis please?!

i meant Katie!! hahah

I have a floater..absolutely nothing they can do..it will "settle down" some time..side effect of being extremely myopic ( i wear -8.5 contacts)
