Anybody else watching the election results? Weird to think it's finally over.

Thank God! I am so sick of this political hoopla. Its such a circus. Can you tell Im not a very political person?

Morning peeps!

Well, I couldn't STAND not having a new ticker so I made up one to get me thru until I can make a REAL one!! I am really anxious for my family to decide who all will be going so we can pick a PLACE to try for next time.

BIL called last nite to wish DH a happy birthday...announced that he got engaged over this past weekend to the GF. So I guess now she's what? BILs'F? (Brother inlaws fiancee?) He ships out to Iraq again in January so now they're trying to decide if they will rush a wedding by Dec. or wait for him to return. I think he should wait. But that's Bcuz he did the same thing before he went the last time. He was stationed in Germany and was dating this German girl. It was near the beginning of the war and he didn't have much notice that he was going. It just sorta came up like with a week or two's notice. He got married the day before he left (only MIL went). He was gone for just over a year then when he came back they could never reconnect or something. Anyway, she turned out to be a touch psycho and they got divorced (but he still hears from her even tho she's still in Germany 'cuz they froze his sperm before he left or something and she recently decided to go get some of it and have a baby by herself! Told you, she's pshycho!) Anyway, I understand he wants to leave for Iraq MARRIED 'cuz she will get some military benefits while he's gone if they do...BUT... So I don't know. He is stationed at Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas City right now - but I guess she's like from Nebraska or Oklahoma so I don't even know WHERE they would get married. Now I am being selfish...I only see $$$$ for flights to some podunk town in the midwest. Somebody slap me!

Hey Phyllis - you gonna post pics of that red wedding dress sometime!?

Splurging on Carrabbas for dinner for DH's birthday. We're so lame - we had no plan in place this morning so he got home from class around 6:45 & finally settled on that for his takeout dinner (we always order takeout 'cuz it's cheaper than GOING and eating there). Don't know the last time we ordered from them. Probably since last Feb.! He's picking it up now. Yumm. I just ordered a pizza tho but am still looking forward to it just for something different.

I am getting DS's sore throat. Darn it. Kids love to share those don't they?! Guess that means I'm about a day away from a cold.

Annie - sounds confusing. But seeing as how it worked out so well for him last time. He might wanna think about learning from history. Both with the whole getting married and banking "the boys".

Gots to pay bills. Call our CPA and call the timber frame builder dude. He just sent me the floor plan from his engineering guy. Um....it's only a one bedroom floorplan?? And where do those stairs go?? Says down but there seems to be no downstairs plan?? I am confused.

Ah the fun never ends.

This will be wife # 3!! At one point in time, we all worked together (me, DH, BIL and Wife # 1)!! DH actually was dating BIL's wife # 1 first. Until he found out he was SHARING HER with BIL behind the scenes! Ummm. Yeah. ANYWAY, BIL has always been in the Army - but he went into the Reserves for a time to attend college. Once he finished college he went back into the regular Army (as a career - he is now a Major). Wife # 1 actually proposed to HIM. They got married 1 yr. before us. She insisted she knew the life ahead. They went to target practice together - she seemed "good" with the idea that he was going into Army Intelligence. Well, so she went with him to GA for awhile, then to NC. By the time he was being sent to Germany she was done with the Army and they broke up. It turned real nasty. We had this beeg box show up here one day on the porch - a "hostage box" of her stuff that he sent us from Germany!! DUMB stuff in it too. Hair curlers, books. Nothing of any real value. But it lived here in our basement for a couple of years. I think DH eventually gave it to her sister or something. I don't know. Last I heard she had her Masters and was a professor in Seattle or something. ANYWAY, point here is that BIL, tho a nice guy likes to blow things up and is very unlucky with women. He has been dating this one for a couple of years tho so I hope he knows what he's getting into.

OK Gert - how many houses are you building / buying? Is this for the relocation to wine country? My guess is the stairs go to a basement - so there's nothing down there unless you finish it - that's why there is nothing on the floorplan. So are you saying it's missing like a floor with bedrooms or something?

Ah the fun never ends.

My throat is still sore. I have been sucking zinc losenges all day. Everything tastes like crap...even my pixie sticks!

Clovis is not exactly "wine country". I think just a convenient location for a winery as they grow LOTS and LOTS of grapes in the greater Fresno/Central Valley area. And we are only buying/building one house right now. With the housing market as is we can no longer afford to build and be house payment less. As was our thought about 2 years ago. But as our 40 acres should not change given any natural disaster we want to design our house and sit on the plans until such time as we actually can afford to build it.

Hope that helps to clarify things.

The designers entry elevation drawing/rendering is quite lovely. And yes,you are right about the stairs, as we have not settled on a homesite the plan is flexible right now - whether we build all on one level or have a walk-out type basement/rec room/bedrooms situation downstairs.

It's only Thursday and you're talkin' about the weekend already!? A little anxious are we? HUMmmm...weekend...swimming for DS on Fri nite and Sun morning. DH is having his 20th class reunion this weekend. So he is going to a happy hour thingy on Fri nite. Then on Sat. the sprinkler people come EARLY to do our winterization. Then there is a tailgate / BBQ at DH's old school from 11:30 - 2:00 then they are caravaning over to a football game with their biggest rival at 3:00. I am not necessarily looking forward to it but...kinda gotta go. Then I am blowing off a baby shower for a former co-worker on Sunday.

Watch out Californians, Johnnie now has a permit to drive!

I went and got my nails done today....tomorrow I will be traveling to see my Grandma. She turned 89 on Monday and I am going to visit her and my Aunt.
Trip takes about 3 hours in each direction...plus however long I stay to visit for. Me thinks tomorrow will be a long day But I guess that's what I gotta do, right.

Our kids also have a 4 day weekend. That is why ANNIE - our weekend officially starts tomorrow at noonish. We are driving...oh about...9 or 10 hours to my moms house. Should be a kick in the pants! Did I mention Leetle Pirate does not like riding in the car.

I guess my psychic skills are off GERT! Our kids had a 4 day'er last weekend - so we are just havin' your normal 'ole 2 day'er here this weekend! Where do you drive to that is 9 or 10 hours away? That is almost like driving from here to FL!! I think I would be tempted to fly! Have a good time! Drive safe! Be good for Momma leetle pirates!
