Yay! I love Maui!

Gallo and Stymie are negotiating. I would have to say without being an insider to the negotiations and having not seen anything "official" on paper, though Gallo says we should have it by Monday, I will be moving closer to RJ.

I am also guessing Stymie will be moving in October. The girls and I will stay here. We can hash out the housing options and make a decision. I don't see any reason to move until Christmas break. That and I refuse to quit my soccer team. Not gonna happen.

Going to have lunch with RJ tomorrow!! We're gonna go do some neighborhood drive-bys!! And eat something yummy.

Not sure how my interview went - I am terrible at reading people...lots of new terminology...molecular...protein science...DNA...RNA...HPV testing...genome amplification... I am afraid to get too hopeful. I am still not sure I have the CRM database experience they really want. Anyway, they seem solid...rapid growth...I met with HR - she did a behavioral interview (I HATE those) and the Director of Marketing and the Marketing Communications Mgr. They have already interviewed 2 people and are interviewing more next week. The position reports directly to the Marketing Comm. Mgr. - who is being promoted...so the position wouldn't actually be working for this person but for someone else who hasn't even started yet. Everybody appeared to be dressed up a lot nicer than my last couple of jobs...so that's a bit of a problem. My last job was casual dress (like chinos) Mon-Thurs and jeans on Fri. and my job before that was pretty much jeans anytime so I have not done much in the way of wardrobe maintenance since like 2003! I have a couple of pantsuits that I can wear for interviews, funerals & weddings....but ummm....beyond that....I have a problem! I was not offered any information about their benefits or anything...so I pretty much don't know much of anything!

And Im glad you made it through the interview Annie. Hope things turn out well.

I gave Peter the tip and he said he does do 2v1. However he said right now he would be happy to get more than one shot in the goalie box...not even on net. Yes, that was ALL we got yesterday. ROFL! Its tough!

He doesn't know anything about the job yet. He thinks the 1 person who from outside the company who interviewed is out and he thinks maybe one other guy, so it could be down to him and 1 other...but this is the one he thought was a shoe in from the start. With it being the end of the quarter everyone is running around crazy, so he thinks it will be at least a week until they hear anything. I did ask him if he gets it can we buy DVC at BLT.

I had seen the pics that were posted on the Dis, from the main page. I assume those are the same ones. To be honest if we were to buy I would really want to get a resale at BW or BC, but I just look at that as being more trouble, ya know? I don't knnow. We have gone back and forth with this a few times over the years, who knows if we will ever do it. a part of me thinks if we hadnt done Sylvan for Cam, that would be half the money right there. Priorities stink!

Personally, I think buying at AKV is a better deal...the price per point at BLT is $107 after the incentive...and the point charts are really, really high - at least compared to the other resorts. I could spread 50 points at AKV into a weeks stay in a studio every other year. Couldn't do that at BLT. However, the annual maint. dues are less for some reason so they're saying it would wash out. I am just shocked that BLT is running $21 / point more than what we paid for our SSR points 2 years ago!! The newer resorts have longer contracts....that's one advantage of buying new.... But at this point I have been cut off!! If I can't talk DH into an add-on at AKV before it's sold out then I will aim for Ko 'Olina!

But on another note, the Sylvan thing is working out for him isn't it? By the time he finishes college it will have been money well spent!

So tonight is the BEEG TV nite....Gray's, The Office & Earl...Survivor...Something will have to wait for Friday to be watched...probably The Office & Earl for us...

and nobody is answering my question: WHAT THE HECK IS BLT??? (and why don't you buy resale points? Aren't those waaaayyy cheaper than new ones? )

Bay Lake Towers, nerd! New DVC at CR

LOL! BLT= Bay Lake Towers DVC at CR. Everytime I look into it it just all gets so confusing, and I see big $$$ so I give up. Then it passes for a while and I get the bug again. As much as I enjoyed staying at AKL, I wouldnt want to buy there...I want easy transportation to at least 1 park.

We have about 2 more months left at Sylvan if he continues 3 days a week. I wouldnt say its worked miracles, and it's even hard to tell if its helped at all. Not doing real work with him over the summer and now just getting into it I havent seen him have the stuff he has trouble with, so who knows. Time will tell.

Hope lunch was good, ladies.

Tonight we have the icecream social at Colts school...just what I need to go eat icecream and get sucked into volunteering for events.

Animal Kingdom is not a park? I tell you what, I much prefer the one bus stop plan like at AKV or VWL than the whole spread out multiple bus stop thing like at OKW!! Those buses were awful. We have no complaints with the bus service at AKV. It's only just a few minutes to the AK park...and the water parks... I didn't even mind the ride to the other parks either...as long as the buses are prompt I'm good... Here's a thread where someone was asking about the bus transportation at AKV...I think everybody agrees that it's really great:

Buying points resale CAN be cheaper...you have to watch the contracts carefully - a lot of them have been "stripped" of their points and can't be used for a couple of years. People borrow ahead on them and leave nothing available to use. I think that would suck to buy a new timeshare and then not be able to book anything for 2 years. They often are a little cheaper - but you have to wait to pass ROFR from Disney and the older resorts have shorter contract terms left on them (one reason they're cheaper). We got in directly thru DVC because we bought during a friends & family promotion & used a guy from Daryl's work as a referral so we got $15 off per point during the promotion. (That was like an extra $5 off per point at the time.) When DVC offers a good deal you have to jump on it.

Phyllis the other issue with buying resale is paying cash up front or financing the purchase. Disney finances purchasing new timeshare purchases and it is private lending. There is no effect on your debt ratio for your FICO score. If you go through a resale company you have to provide your own financing or use one of their sources and it is public funding usually. If you can afford to pay cash, resale is the way to go. If you need to finance it, I would go with Disney. That's just TZM's two sense.
