DIS-functional Wonder Peeps Part III revisited

Dang kids.:lmao:

We're headed for 103 today and 105 tomorrow, so RJ glad you got that unit fixed!! We thought we would be tough and actually turned the AC off last week but its back on now.:thumbsup2

OK add me to the "crazy school mom" list. Between GATE (advanced placement) tests and STAR (CA state mandated tests) scores I am ready to home school Ryan. OK not really I would lock her in a closet and that would not accomplish much, but wow its hard not to get caught up in it when your parental expectations aren't met. Are my expectations too high, do I overestimate DDs abilities , is she really struggling as these test scores indicate, or is she slipping through the cracks? Apparently no one at the school can answer me; not her 2nd grade teacher last year, not the principal....so it all rests, unfortunately for her, on her 3rd grade teacher. Our schools test scores were HORRIBLE in my opinion so someone here had better be esplaining those scores to me before I totally flip. I even started calling the charter and magnet schools in Tracy to see if anyone has room for a curly headed 3rd grader. Apparently that answer is "no".:headache:

I leave our AC on most of the time 'cuz of allergies...AND I can't sleep at night 'cuz the next door neighbors outside AC units are on the side of the house under our bedroom window and I can't sleep. DS's bedroom is on the front of the house and he doesn't like hearing the cars go by...It's just easier to leave the AC on...

Must be that time of year...we got our MSA scores this week (Maryland's standardized tests). DS always scores in the highest category so I've never worried too much about them. I don't know how our new MS will fare (I think OK) but our old Elem. school was always pretty good I think (67% Proficient and 31% Advanced for Math and 30% Proficient / 62% Advanced for Reading). I was never disappointed in those scores anyway.:confused3 (Should I have been?:scared: ) I am sure big sis's scores are OK - like Cheri said, we all know she's one smart cookie!

OK, so we went back to the Orthodontist this afternoon. I thought he was just going to remove the old glue today and discuss our options. But so he had some plastic braces that blend in with the teeth and some coated arc (or are they arch) wires that we decided to try. He also had some white gold wires. I wasn't sure which would be best.:confused3 So we decided to go with the coated ones for now and they went ahead & put them back on. He gave me his cell phone number too and said if we have any swelling over night to come in ASAP in the morning. If these don't work then he said he could order those invisible wires - but they're apparently very expensive and he doesn't keep them in stock. So we'll cross our fingers these wires do the trick. He said not to brush them too hard so as to not scratch the coating off! :rotfl2: I was like "I doubt we'll have to worry about THAT"!:lmao:

:headache: DS just did something to one of his back braces and knocked it loose! It didn't come OFF but it's sliding around on the tooth!:sad2: GRRRR!! This whole ortho thing is a nightmare!:scared:

your stuff would go to your house..Mine is all addressed to Rick Donahue or Kaitlyn Donahue..really..it is getting ridiculous!

so, I think I am going to become a Publix baker..less stress icing cakes all day!! Of course, I will gain all my weight back, but hey..small price to pay for stress free!!

Yes, but Kaitlyn was in MY cabin!:rolleyes1

Ooh, Mama has a point! Hey, Bets! Send Mama some of your booty. (or you could send it to me - Disney isn't liking me either! Come to think of it tho.... they can keep all their "stuffs" if they give me the rooms I want on my next cruise? Deal, DCL? Deal? Anyone? Bueller?)

Well, I called & got another appt. with the orthodontist today at 3:30 to see about this loose bracket problem. She said they cannot put it back on today, but can only clip the wire back to the next bracket and we will have to get it replaced next week.:headache: So now I am worried now about the end of wire being exposed - if he will have a reaction to that tiny itty bitty end of the wire?!:confused3 They do not see patients on Fridays (I think he has another office about an hour away that he goes to). I am really unhappy with this WHOLE thing!:sad2: I do not want to go to the orthodontist 3x a week!! The appt. we got for next Tues. is for right around the time that school lets out - so I have to pick him up during his last period...the rules at MS are that whenever they have appts. during school I have to send a note in the day before! :headache: So I have to send a note tomorrow that I need to pick him up 30 min. early on Tuesday! CRAZY!:rolleyes1

last time MOTHER!!
All her tickets and info came to the house..it goes by address, not cabin..you should get yours soon

annie - take the braces off and let the poor kid have crooked teeth..they have more character!!

as a former school employee, I understand the rule. If makes things so much easier. And, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts, NOBODY follows that rule. (Parents at our school routinely show up 10-15 minutes before school gets out just so they don't have to wait in the pick up line!).)

As a parent, if you gotta get your kid, you gotta get your kid. What are they gonna do, not give him to you?

Good luck with the whole situation. I kind like Betsy's idea... I know, not too likely but there aren't too many kids with character around these days. Somethin' tells me it has nuthin' to do with their teeth though

Alright...I am up and running...so if anybody ever needs (wants:) ) any Tastefully Simple products this is my TS website & email:

oohhhh that DOES sound good though. Go ahead and splurge. Gert says its OK.:rotfl: That coming from the one who just spend $160 at Target!! But really diapers, snacks for cabin, new Ariel movie. It does all add up.:lmao:

ooh! How much ws Ariel movie? It was $29.99 at Vons yesterday. I KNOW it's gotta be less somewhere else. Target is the $100 store just like COSTCO is the $400-500 store as I can't get out of either place without spending that much. Things just jump into my cart whispering "take me home, Phyllis. Please. You neeeeeed me."

annie - that Merlot sauce sounds wonderful!!!!! Is that on the "soon to be going" list?

Man, I sure wouldn't want to be on the Magic for the next few days. I think they are in Aruba today and due to sail right thru the path of Gustav. I know Capt Tom sails around stuff but that storm is big and lookin unpredicable. Stay safe TZM, ophie, Betsy's Mama and Bets.

After talkin' to Bets this morning (c'mon TAKE THIS HUMIDITY BACK! BEA FRIEND!) it looks like you all are gonna get hammered after Gustav with that "H" one. wow.

:rotfl2: Ya'll sound like DS saying "I'm fine with my teeth just the way they are! Really, I AM!" :rotfl2: The ultimate goal here is to correct this cross bite thing that the dentist is all worried about...just one step at a time... ANYWAY, he came home from school and I asked him if it was poking him or hurting or anything and he said it was fine. So we called & cancelled today's appt. If he thinks he can live with it slipping around in there until Tues. then I figured we may as well wait. I mean, if they would FIX it today then OK, but since they were only going to clip it that doesn't make sense. I'm sure it's easier to fix THIS way than cutting the wire.:confused3

Gourmet Peanut Butter? Hummm....:confused3 Not sure that's a necessity.

I RARELY go to Costco just for that reason! I am usually lucky to get out of there for $300. Target...hummm...that's more like a $150 trip for me...or (3) $50 trips! LOL... I have to really, really start being more watchful about stuff tho...the thing is to NOT GO!! But I need cat litter...and paper towels & TP...and all of SUDDEN!! WHOOPS!

Phyllis - I have not had a chance to sample the Merlot Sauce yet - but it DOES sound good...and it is part of what they call the Standard Line products so it will still be around. :thumbsup2 There is something else that I think has been popular in the past that is being discontinued and that would be the Honey Teriyaki Sauce. There is something else I can't wait to try called Sweet Pepper Jalapeno Jam - they say to pour it over a block of slightly warmed cream cheese & serve it with crackers. I can picture that with a glass or two of vino! :rolleyes1 The new Fall-Winter products have a big emphasis on Italian foods...garlic bread seasoning....marinara sauce mix, alfredo sauce mix, pine nut & basil pesto and something called Hearty Lasagna Soup etc. Speaking of vino...it is after 5:00...............................

What a day! I havent stopped! Betwen work, and yelling athe kids, I have been crazed. Yep end of summer is getting to us all. Thank goodness DH and I are getting a night out Saturday. Its not an all nighter, but Ill take a few hours at this point.

Annie sorry about the teeth situation. Yikes! I like Bety's idea too.

DH is at the Redskins pre-season game...they're losing.:sad2:

OK, joke of the day:

Would you remarry?

Husband and wife are lying quietly in bed reading

when the wife looks over at him and asks the question.

WIFE: 'What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?'

HUSBAND: 'Definitely not!'

WIFE: 'Why not? Don't you like being married?'

HUSBAND: 'Of course I do.'

WIFE: 'Then why wouldn't you remarry?'

HUSBAND: 'Okay, okay, I'd get married again.'

WIFE: 'You would? (with a hurt look)

HUSBAND: (makes audible groan)

WIFE: 'Would you live in our house?'

HUSBAND: 'Sure. It's a great house.'

WIFE: 'Would you sleep with her in our bed?'

HUSBAND: 'Where else would we sleep?'

WIFE: 'Would you let her drive my car?'

HUSBAND: 'Probably. It is almost new.'

WIFE: 'Would you replace my pictures with hers?'

HUSBAND: 'That would seem like the proper thing to do.'

WIFE: 'Would you give her my jewelry?'

HUSBAND: 'No. I'm sure she'd want her own.'

WIFE: 'Would you take her golfing with you?'

HUSBAND: 'Yes. Those are always good times.'

WIFE: 'Would she use my clubs?'

HUSBAND: 'No. She's left-handed.'

WIFE: - silence -

HUSBAND: . . . Oh HECK!!!':scared1:

TZM: Annie are you reading Playboy? That joke is in Playboy this month...

Oh so now we now where Annie gets her material!!:lmao:

 Ya found me out! :lmao: I get emails from a couple of old geezers I used to work with!:rotfl2:

 Hey wait...How did TZM know that!?

YEAH! What she said!!
Rainy day...very dark & dreary. Guess I'll turn the light on. Tired. DH came in at like 1:30 from the game then proceeded to SNORE loudly all night long!:rolleyes1 I pushed & shoved & tugged & couldn't get him to stop. I was awake easily for 2 hours from like 2 - 4:00. Then this morning he didn't want to get up and says "I'm tired.":sad2: Yeah. Well, me too buddy!

Is it just me or has the DIS been extra super slow lately?!:confused3

Annie -

sorry to hear your orthodontia issues. It seems DD was in the office a bunch at the beginning also. Now its only every 6 -8 weeks unless something breaks or is poking her.

Have a beeg giant helping of caffeine this morning.

I am off to the grocery store!

Oh so now we now where Annie gets her material!!:lmao:

 Hey wait...How did TZM know that!?

ROFL!! He reads the articles and obviously the jokes. :lmao:

So, have I mentioned lately that I HATE Jet Blue? We still havent gotten our issue resolved from the last trip and we already have another issue. I just read on the trans board about them messing with the Dec scheduled. Sure as heck I went and checked and my flight is changed to later! I cant miss the Jellyrolls meet! ;) ARGH!!!!!

Boo Hiss JetBlue (that is for you Katie)

Annie - I saw you in Tracy today. Your twin. Even drives the same car as you!! Kinda spooky!

Cheri - I think the movie was $16.99 but I don't really know. When Gert is on a roll stuff just goes flying into the shopping cart. Then when I get my CC bill I wonder "hmm why is that so high!?":rotfl2: :headache:

Groceries - done
Laundry - in progress
Talk to another builder - done
Pack me and the girls for cabin - putting it off :rotfl:

At least Stymie is coming home early. For the first time in a LOOONNNGGG time I won't have to pack the truck by myself!

Let's see whats left? Pack, pick up DD at 2pm, convince RJ & Beano to come see us at the cabin, bribe her with Cinzano, and cookies... :lovestruc

Alright guess I will get moving. Waiting for a call back.

Anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2010 itineraries due out around October 7th!!?? :woohoo: SE - Any hints!?

SE??

Hey wait - where is SE anyways!? Hope she is feeling better.:wizard: :flower3:
