SE: May all the love and kindness of this season shine upon you and Steve

Looks like a slow day on the DIS.... I see Katie posted on FB that she's heading out to Jelly Rolls so I guess she made it OK w/o too much commotion. (I hope!):goodvibes

Mornin' ya'll!

Anybody hear anything from SueEllen about Steve? Hope the next update is better news...

Sounds like Katie just missed a BEEG ice storm in Mass.!! Hope she's havin' fun! We just missed getting snow...I was glad it missed us.

LOL...local news here...since they're expecting 4 million people for inaguration they're planning to bring in 4,000 portable toilets!! Our friend who owns some got a bid for 4 of his trailers (they're actually pretty nice) and I think 20 "VIP" johns! LOL. Funny what makes the news! 4,000 johns.:rotfl:

Tryin' to decide what top to wear with my pantsuit (brrr it's cold) & what time to leave for my interview with traffic & stuff. According to mapquest it should be between 21-23 minutes depending which way I go! HaHa...like THAT would ever happen in this area. I will allow AT LEAST 30-35 minutes.

Good luck Annie!

12 Days!! EGAD.

Will be posting sporadically. Busy busy here. Its official. The McPeeps are vacating this house next Thursday. Well pack Thursday, Move Friday, Meet truck in Clovis to put belongings into storage Saturday.

We decided not to buy. We are back to building a house so will be living at the "Bunkhouse" at the ranch until said house is finished. Expect the next 12 or so months of my life to be not much fun. Will post pictures when I can. Bunkhouse is maybe 1200 sq ft of 2bd 1 ba heaven. But could be worse I suspect. Not sure I can do this but gonna give it a go.

Katie - have a great trip!!

Everyone else - stay safe and stay warm!!

For SueEllen and Steve: big prayers

For TRM: arm loads of patience (and a couple of bottles of wine)

For Katie: :dance3: (that wil be you tonight at Jelly Rolls)

For Annie: good luck with the interview

For RJ: pffffft! I don't EVEN want to hear how long you've been done with your shopping. My cards are still in the boxes. Got something really cool for some friends though :rolleyes1

For Betsy::rolleyes1

and to everyone else: :grouphug: I can't believe that we don't have a vacation planned until 2011. That's just wrong. Seems a lot of Peeps could use a getaway right about now. A quiet island, toes in the sand, cool drink chillin' in my right hand, and ....f r e e. Any takers?

Oh Gert! I grew up in a 1200 SF house...and I am mostly OK. Can you post when you are at the ranch or are you isolated from airwaves & internet? We must find you an internet cafe!!

I know I was in a panic when our townhouse sold quickly and we still had 6 mo. to go before this house was ready so we had to move to temporary housing. A basement apt. that was FREEZING cold from Oct to March. I think it was about 900 SF. The best thing about it was I could clean the entire apt. in about 2 hours! :lmao: I plugged in the vacuum cleaner in the middle & didn't even have to move the plug! I had to pack everything myself & I was determined not to unpack & re-pack so we pretended we were camping for 6 months! We put just almost everything into storage since we didn't have room for it anyway. I used under the bed boxes for our linens (so they sorta stayed packed) and then I used the linen closet for sweaters & such 'cuz we didn't have room for all of our bedroom furniture. I put socks & underwear in my nightstand.:rotfl2: All of our summer clothes went to storage. I packed up all of my Pfaltzgraff in bubble wrap & bought a cheap set of Corell Ware (sp?). My goal was to be able to pack up the entire apt. in 6-8 hours when it was time to move to the new house!! And you know what? I did it. I literally had us re-packed and ready to move in about 8 hours 'cuz that's all we kept with us!! Jared was 3 so we had his toy box (taped it shut with packing tape) and off we went! I know this is going to be hard on you but you must focus on the beautiful dream home that you will build in the meantime!!!:grouphug:

Phyllis - can u deliver that wine!!??

Annie - how did the interview go??

OK NFR is over - going to bed. tomorrow - going through stuff around here. Taking truck to car wash. Maybe a little Christmas shopping.

Everyone have a great Saturday.

NFR?:confused3

Hummm...interview...:confused3 I never know how they go - obviously not good since I don't have people knocking down the door to hire me!:lmao: Even tho I filled out an online profile I still had to spend 30 min. filling out another one on paper. Then the guy (Henry) interviewed me for about 1 1/2 hours. They had a set list of Coca Cola required questions and then he had his own list. It was only the one guy and he spent about 1 1/2 hrs with me. It was a relief not to have to go thru 3 or 4 people on a 30 min. schedule!! I hate those kinds of interviews and I am sure that's where I run into problems...'cuz you have to "pass" with so many diff. personalities. So maybe this will pan out. Dunno. :confused3 There were a couple of things that I didn't have experience with (SAP being one) but I do have Purchasing Card experience & he needs someone to reconcile his Pcards. I think I was their first interview & of course they will call in others. It's a new position & they're just sorta looking for someone to fill in & cross train to do a bunch of diff. things. He seemed flexible about the hours. I was thinking that since it doesn't pay as much as I want, is further away than I wanted to go & has no benefits that maybe I could wrangle a 4 day work week. Maybe work 7 or 8 hrs Mon-Thur or something. That would save me one day of commuting nightmare, mileage and gas. They have no timeline for making a decision since it's a new position - it's not like they're in a rush...

Phyllis - I am taking my cards out of their box this weekend! I swear I am!:rotfl2: Then I must start wrapping once I get those out the door!

Only 28 degrees out there now but supposed to get up to 40...today is our "tree day". The boy scouts start selling at 12:30 up the street at this little local bank. NOT getting one so big this time that it falls over!:rotfl:

28 degrees :scared1: . Dang, girl that's coolldd!

Yah what she said.

OK so what is with all the "Facebook invites" Whatcha all have a secret meeting and decide to start facebook pages this weekend??:confused3

:surfweb:

 Hey...wait a sec...does this mean no more disboards and more facebook??

Gert - you are the last peep holdout for FB! I am bouncing back & forth between DIS and FB...must check it to play with my pet penguin so he doesn't get lonely and must move my cars in parking wars so Kimmy & RJ and my other friend, Janet don't ticket me...Oh, and then I always seem to be kidnapped off somewhere exotic.:confused3 Come play sometime!

It got up to 35 today I think. We found our tree RIGHT OFF THE BAT at the boy scout tree sale!! It's a much more manageable size (about 8 1/2 or 9' tall). This guy shapes the prettiest trees and they were cut down this morning! LOVE THAT! They DID decide that $25 for any tree was not enough so they started them at $40 this year. Ours was $50 but that is a real bargain for these parts!! Esp. for such a beautiful tree. I believe it is a Norwegian Spruce. Smells great!:thumbsup2

OK, back to decorating the mantel....:goodvibes

Hey ya'll...

Is anybody else getting blank emails from the DISboards??:confused3 I've gotten like 3 in the past 24 hrs....

nope no blank emails here. But then I don't have the email function on...so then I guess I would not get them....:rolleyes1

I will have to post a picture of our tree...:lmao:

Facebook eh? sounds to hip for me.:santa:

PoisonSanta.jpg

Hope everyone is doing well!:grouphug:

Cheri: that's not ur T right?! bahahahahahah

nope, not my T-man.

I have gotten two blank emails from the board. I hope their server doesn't have some funky virus or somethin'.

Where's all da peeps!?

RJ - is Bob home again!?:woohoo:

Katie - tell us all about your trip!

Gert - 'cuz I'm sure ya need one or two of those about now...

Sue Ellen - how's Steve? Any word?

Have a BEEG to do list for today. Rosie is broken (she is spinning in place in a circle) and has been since down before T-giving! Man do I miss her!:rotfl: They tried to diagnose her over the phone and sent me parts which didn't fix her so I ended up having to send her back yesterday for an exchange so I got sidetracked on taking her apart per the instructions that I-Robot gave me and finding a box to pack her in and then sending her via UPS so I could get a tracking number. NOT what I needed to spend my time on. I am still waiting on some things to arrive that I ordered for Xmas but so have to work around that one. Tracking says they're to come tomorrow. Meanwhile, need to get FIL's gift ready and a couple others to mail. Looks like multiple trips to the P.O. this week!:scared:

Need to renew my tags....still have some cards to finish that go out locally...Hummm....Guess I'd better hop to it!:goodvibes

I have a picture in my head of Annie hopping around her house right now saying "hop...hop...hop..."

:lmao:

I may need coffee.
