Yes, Bob be home! :thumbsup2 He got home on Friday :woohoo:

SE: any updates for us?

I'm back! We did make it but once we were going down and right over Orlando we misexecuted the landing, had to go back up and fly around for a while. Because of a storm we had to wait it out. It was VERY bumpy. We had a 1:55 ADR for Kona Cafe, which I booked giving us time to spare, and we made it at 2:00 PM. But I'm not complaining after the last time, LOL! Also coming in last night because of winds only 1 runway was open so we got to Boston and had to circle for like a 1/2 hour before landing. I think I've had enough circling for a while. ;)

The trip itself was really great, but tiring. 2 of the 4 nights I got 4.5 and 5 hours of sleep. I'm zonked now! No rain after that first afternoon and we were just driving in it then. It was quite chilly though. The TSM meeet was awesome. LOVED the ride! I rode it 9 times during the 3 hours! :thumbsup2 All our meals were wonderful and of course we loved the Dolphin again.

Glad to see that Bob is back. :goodvibes

Sue Ellen, We are still praying for Steve. I can't imagine how hard this must be.

Glad you made a decision on the house, Johnna. I got the email saying to add you as a friend and I tried but I dont see it. So, you aren't on FB??? I'm confused.

Annie any news on the job?

Well, I really have to get back to trying to get this houe in order. Bday party in 4 days and my house looks like it exploded. :headache:

Whew! Survived 45 minutes in the post office today. Lucky me, I get to go back tomorrow to mail the last 3 boxes. At least all of the shopping is finished (well, there is that gift certificate I have to pick up for Grandpa and I need to find something for step-brother..... you mean I'm not finished???)

Here's to hoping that the Germlins take pity on me and wrap some presents tonight while I sleep. Afterall, I did clean up after them all morning. Sounds like a fair trade to me.

HI BOB!!!:3dglasses

Phyllis - I was with ya in spirit but only I was on the East Coast!! I spent ALL day trying to wrap, pack up and mail things! First I finished my local cards. Then I had some misc. odds & ends to wrap & pack for shipping to this one & that one (all DH's side). THEN I could not find the right box for the LIFE OF ME to ship the gift for FIL & StepMIL.:sad2: I tried every box I had. Too small and / or not the right shape. So I ended up having to go to the UPS store to buy a "wreath box" for $5. Then I was going to also pick up some gift certificates for them for Carrabbas....they didn't open until 4:00.:headache: So then I had to go to the grocery store (which was on my list for today too) and buy them off the rack there. THEN I had to pack this puppy up and get it to the UPS store before 4:00 so it would go out today via Fed Ex Ground:scared: Another $25 down the tube!:sad2: Grrrrrr. But with the weird shape I was stuck. I priced the other 3 gifts I had ready to mail there. WAY too much money. I had used the P.O. Flat Rate boxes...I was curious how much surcharge the Mailboxes Etc place charged! A LOT. So then I had to go to the P.O. Spent like 1 1/2 hrs in lines for this crap...AND I'm not done mailing either!:rolleyes1 I am still waiting on some stuff to come that I ordered. Now my tracking info. says due to arrive on Thurs. Poopy. That is cutting it a bit close. I just have to hope that it will come early enough for me to turn it around & get it out the door on Thurs. Me thinks I have screwed this one up!

Well, DH had his Calculus final tonight and we are now getting freezing rain. I hope he will be OK walking out to his car and driving home. The sidewalks & such are glistening. It is never fun to try to walk and / or drive on that crap. Now I must go pace until he arrives home safely.

Im catching up on emails and got a funny...

A Christmas Story for people having a bad day:
When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drank all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.
The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Betsy - that was funny!

Got my letter about the add'l 7 weeks of Unemployment yesterday...as apparently did everyone else. I have been trying to call all morning. Busy signals...all circuits are busy recordings....finally get thru and the msg. doesn't say to hold for your turn it says "all agents are busy please try your call again later!":scared1: :headache: OMG. This is going to be a long tedious day.:sad2: Sigh.

Gert - ya ready?

Thats funny, Annie. I'm in a similar situation. I am trying to book flights for my cruise but keep getting an error message the server is too busy. This happened twice last night and a few times today already. I even tried around 6:00 AM so I dont think they are that busy then. Im wondering if its becaue Im using a credit and 4 vouchers??? It seems to accept everythign Ok, but it just wont go through the final step. :headache:
Hmmm????

Tonight it's supposed to be 29 degrees :scared1:

Ok, for some of you I know that's a daily occurance, but here in my part of CA....not so much!

Hope everyone is doing alright.

Katie: when do we get to see pics from your WDW trip? :rolleyes1

Ok, 29 DOES sound really cold for CA. Yikes! Stay warm!

I'm trying to get some pics posted, but between work, unpacking, Christmas, birthday, and all that stuff, pics take a back seat. ;) I did get one up on FB, my new profile pic. Its a good picture, but my eyes look like they are ready to close. That was Sunday so by then I was zonked. ;)

Oh Brrr RJ!! That IS cold! Turn the heat up! Cold snap just in time for Xmas for ya'll!! We got lucky here - it warmed up to about 33/34 over night so our freezing rain from last night turned into slush for this morning (no school delays)!:yay:

DS has a "winter concert" this evening at the high school. I have to have him there by 6:15. Got him a new white shirt at Walmart & found a dark tie & black shoes at Kohl's last week...he already had black pants. DH will miss it 'cuz he has another final.

Finally got thru to Unemployment. On hold multiple times for 15-20 min. at a time before getting booted out.:headache: But I'm finally set to draw 7 more weeks.

I suppose I should go wrap something.:rolleyes1 And check out Katie's new photos on FB....

A series from the human resources dept trying to organize a simple office party for Christmas

RE: Christmas Party

I'm happy to inform you that the company Christmas Party will take place on December 23, starting at noon in the private function room at the Grill House. There will be a cash bar and plenty of drinks! We'll have a small band playing traditional carols...feel free to sing along. And don't be surprised if our CEO shows up dressed as Santa Claus! A Christmas tree will be lit at 1:00pm.. Exchange of gifts among employees can be done at that time; however, no gift should be over £10.00 to make the giving of gifts easy for everyone's pockets. This gathering is only for employees! Our CEO will make a special announcement at that time!

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Patty

RE: Holiday Party

In no way was Monday's memo intended to exclude our Jewish employees. We recognize that Chanukah is an important holiday, which often coincides with Christmas, though unfortunately no t this year. However, from now on we're calling it our "Holiday Party." The same policy applies to any other employees who are not Christians or those still celebrating Reconciliation Day. There will be no Christmas tree present. No Christmas carols sung. We will have other types of music for your enjoyment. Happy now?

Happy Holidays to you and your family.

RE: Holiday Party

Regarding the note I received from a member of Alcoholics Anonymous requesting a non-drinking table ... you didn't sign your name. I'm happy to accommodate this request, but if I put a sign on a table that reads, "AA Only"; you wouldn't be anonymous anymore. How am I supposed to handle this?

Somebody?

Forget about the gifts exchange, no gifts exchange are allowed since the union members feel that £10.00 is too much money and executives believe £10.00 is a little chintzy.

NO GIFTS EXCHANGE WILL BE ALLOWED.

RE: Holiday Party

What a diverse group we are! I had no idea that this year 20th December begins the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which forbids eating and drinking during daylight hours. There goes the party! Seriously, we can appreciate how a luncheon at this time of year does not accommodate our Muslim employees' beliefs. Perhaps the Grill House can hold off on serving your meal until the end of the party- or else package everything for you to take it home in little foil doggy baggy. Will that work?

Meanwhile, I've arranged for members of Weight Watchers to sit farthest from the dessert buffet and pregnant women will get the table closest to the toilets. Gays are allowed to sit with each other. Lesbians do not have to sit with Gay men; each will have their own table. Yes, there will be a flower arrangement for the Gay men's table.

To the person asking permission to cross dress, no cross-dressing allowed though. We will have booster seats for short people. Low-fat food will be available for those on a diet. We cannot control the salt used in the food we suggest for those people with high blood pressure to taste first. There will be fresh fruits as dessert for Diabetics; the restaurant cannot supply "No Sugar" desserts. Sorry!

Did I miss anything?!?!?

RE: The Frea**king Holiday Pa rty

Vegetarian pr.cks I've had it with you people!!! We're going to keep this party at the Grill House whether you like it or not, so you can sit quietly at the table furthest from the "grill of death," as you so quaintly put it, and you'll get your frea**king salad bar, including organic tomatoes.

But you know, tomatoes have feelings, too. They scream when you slice them. I've heard them scream. I'm hearing them scream right NOW! I hope you all have a rotten holiday! Drive drunk and die,

The Bi__ch from H__LL!!!!!!!!

RE: Patty Lewis and Holiday Party

I'm sure I speak for all of us in wishing Patty Lewis a speedy recovery and I'll continue to forward your cards to her.. In the meantime, management has decided to cancel our Holiday Party and give everyone the afternoon of the 23rd off with full pay.

Happy Holidays!

Joan

Hey all!

Very funny Katie!

Posting now while I have time. Just had In N Out Burger. Yummy.

House gets packed tomorrow so won't have PC - ATT is turning off the internet on Friday so may get to post via laptop. Provided I am still alive. :rotfl: Seemed like I would get everything done. Until today. Now I am not sure. But not too sure it even matters. They will pack whatever is in the house so if I don't get through all of the closets I will see everything again sometime in the next year.

Thanks for the warm wishes, hugs and pixie dust. I will catch up when I can.

Everyone have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
