wish I had just stayed home today with Kate..today is turning out to stink!

Bosses are off for holiday, but everyone else is bugging me!

Tomorrow is Sept. 30 - I have to check to see if someone at WAMU paid our RE taxes on time ('cuz I don't exactly got a spare $6500 I don't need lyin around in my back pocket if they didn't!) Then I need to check to see if I still make my equity line pymt. out to Wachovia on the 9th or whenever I mail it or do I make it out to Citi Group or whatever? Then I need to find out if we should need to use our equity line are the credit card & checks still good and will they be changing our terms??:confused3 :scared1: Grrrrrr &*^%))_$#^&*&^*(*&^

Cheri - NO MORE FIRES!! Uh Uh....not allowed!! (Says I!!) Not sure 'bout the mud thing...I was not the author ya know....

OK, DH went over to poker buddies to watch Monday nite football...I'm gonna go watch Heroes w/o him!:goodvibes
See, that whole "who is in charge of my money/payments?" thing makes me nervous.

It has rained all day today here in "sunny" So. Fla. I ran out of the gym dodging pelting rain. I managed to get inside my condo and it hasn't stopped. Good day to sit and do my needlework and read. That is what I did all day. Katy is coming tomorrow. She is out of school for the holiday. I have to pick her up at the fire station as her dad goes to work. It is supposed to rain all day tomorrow too. She won't be a happy camper because she loves my pool. There isn't even a decent movie for us to go see.
Since I pick her up so early (7:30) we go have breakfast somewhere on our way home. Tomorrow may be a good mall day for us.:rolleyes1
Mall day with Grandmother! Can I come? I loved shopping with one of my Grandmas. I always came home with a pair or two of shoes and ice cream (and a box of Lucky Charms for the next morning). Why is she out of school though?

I'm sure a shopping trip with Grandma is always a treat for her! :thumbsup2 Sounds like you 2 will have a fun day.

Are my kids the only ones not off today? :confused3

Hope Leetle Pirate feels better. Me and the kids are all getting over colds here, nothing major, thankfully, but still annoying, ya know. Something must be going around on the Dis. ;)

Hope you get some rain, Cheri, and that is stops for you Anne.

YIKES! Just saw the time...gotta get Colt rolling.
Again... Kids out of school? Nothing listed my my calendar.

Feel better leelte pirate. Dougie went to school this morning but Babs is not going until after morning recess (10:00am). I believe I'd like to take a nap.

today is a Jewish holiday..most schools are closed for a "fall holiday" they are also closed next week for Yom Kippur

No school here 'cuz we have a high Jewish population...too many kids just "skip" so school is closed for the Jewish Holidays but not closed on Columbus Day!:confused3 My last job that I had closed for them too (an exception to the rule for most businesses) because the owners were Jewish... I am not sure what they're supposed to do to celebrate...I know my next door neighbor had dinner over at her Mom's last night...today...ummm....they're mowin' the yard.

Checked the county website...the 1st half of the property taxes have been paid on time.:thumbsup2

Took DS with me to the grocery store today so he could work the new scanner system...we done good! 3 full bags for just under $65!:yay: Supposed to only be maybe in the mid-60's the next few days...and even low's to the 40's! Time to start makin' what I call "winter food" (chili...meatloaf...)

Phyllis - take a nap.:thumbsup2 Leetle pirate is enjoying one right now.

Annie - we are supposed to cool down this weekend and maybe even see some rain. Most likely just make our cars really dirty.:sad2: But in the 40's! EEK. That is skiing weather. No other reason for it to be that cold.:rotfl:

Kids not off for Jewish Holidays here.

OK have to call and pick my "volunteer hours" for the school district carnival this weekend. Yippee.

Then configure my new phone to work with the Bluetooth system in the Volvo.

And do the dishes.:) And the laundry.:)

Never ending fun around here.:woohoo:

Everyone have a great day!

please to be sending rain and cold weather down here. 85 degrees so far today and we haven't hit the hottest part of the day yet. i am really gettin' freaked out. Gardener is still looking for someone to trim (or cut down) the palm trees. Who'da figured no one is anxious to climb 15-20' and cut palm fronds :confused3 If it goes on too much longer I may buy a chain saw, give it Babs and let her have a go (and then teach her to make pretty ice sculptures for cruise ships:thumbsup2 )

Jewish holidays. got it.

Please post a pic of this one!:rotfl2: Make sure she wears some flannel and safety goggles too!:rotfl: Thank you!

Hope all you West Coaster's are feelin' better....speaking of illness...anybody hear from SueEllen lately? How's she doin'? And Linda? How's Linda doin' Sean?

Gert - I'm with ya on the 40's temp thing! I DON'T want to turn my heat on for awhile yet so I am not anxious for that! I gotta look in my closet and figure out what to wear on Friday evening...got my 2nd beeg Tastefully Simple party to do.:rolleyes1 What to wear? Hummm...I do not have any others booked after this one. My next door neighbor has been promising to do one for me by the end of Oct. but keeps coming up with excuses for not picking a date. So she's sorta left me hangin'. She had a list of ALMOST 30 people she was going to invite...I was counting on her to get the girls in the 'hood & some other Moms from school...so I have not been pestering them about it. But she's killin' me. She's been promising to pick a date for a month now. Hasn't happened...so I guess I will give her like 1 more week then start in on everyone else myself. I cannot wait for her any longer...I need to get something else booked beyond this Friday.:sad2:

BTW...cocktail of the day is Crystal Light Raspberry Lemonade with a splash of Vodka...not too shabby...:rolleyes1

Speaking of trimming palm trees, I had two huge trees in my front yard at my OLD house. One a maple and the other a black olive. Every time I pick Katy up at the fire station, she wants to drive by Granddaddy's house. (not mine!) Of course we do. When we drove by this morning, the people who bought my house have cut both trees down. One of the neighbors who lives in the house Betsy used to live in, 2 doors down, told me last week that they wanted to "open it up" Well, they sure did:scared1: :scared1: Katy even commented it looked funny now.
She and I had breakfast at Mickey D's but didn't go to the mall. She has a bad runny nose and didn't act like she felt very well so we ran by Target for a card I needed to pick up. We then just hung out at home. It poured rain all day. Our Lake Ocheechobee was down 4 feet back in the summer and it is almost 14 feet above sea level now and they are opening some of the flood gates to lower it. Go figure!

Thanks for the link, RJ. Will check it out.

Hope Katy feels better now. Geesh, I think we ned to get the Purell on this thread. ;)

Love the idea of Babs practicing her ice carving skills. :lmao:

85 degrees...that just a distant memory of us now. In fact, 75 degrees is not sounding like anything we are going to see for a while. We are in the 60s all week, and thats the high. I haven't turned the heat on yet, but I have used my space heater a few days. I cant believe its October! :scared:

Hey anyone know why dishes don't wash themselves??:confused3

It is one of those great mysteries in life...ranks right up there with why husbands can never remember what day is garbage day and that they can never use WARM soapy water when they wash the dishes? Do they think that slimy feeling on them is normal?:confused3 Oh, and it compares to the leave the cabinet doors & drawers open after empyting the dishwasher syndrome...

cause what would kids do for chores if the dishes did themselves silly??

hmmm... Good point.

raspberry lemonade w/ vodka. sounds yummy. Only have vanilly though - might be too sweet. (does vodka go bad? it's been in the freezer for, maybe, 4 years)

I know how it is to drive by old houses, Anne. We would always go by our old one when we went to Oregon and I loved to go by the one from when I was little. 'Cept now that one is in the REAL hood and NO ONE goes there, especially at night!

Hm... kids that wash dishes and empty the dishwasher...
