OOOOLaLa! AKV!! I am so jealous! How is it? Only 1 month, 1 week, 3 days to go for us!


OK, so DS had his first time trials this morning for swimming. Boy did we feel like we had a lot to learn with how all this stuff works. The morning started out foggy but as soon as it cleared off it was HOT! DS did good CONSIDERING everything. I mean, he'd only stayed in the water and actually finished the last 2 practices (this week, once the water warmed up). Since he JUST turned 11 a couple weeks ago and is so scrawny (cold) they had been letting him practice with the 8-10 yr olds 'cuz their practice is only an hour but he had to SWIM in the meet with the 11/12's today. All but him & one other boy had done swim team before so they were naturally a lot faster. Anyway, so considering everything he did OK - we were just happy that he FINISHED at all. He came in last in his 50 meter freestyle (they just showed them last night how to do flip turns - so THAT slowed him a lot). Then he came in next to last on his backstroke. He went crooked & hit the rope a couple times so he sorta slowed up to reposition himself in the lane. He skipped the Breast Stroke and did the Butterfly. He was probably going to come in next to last again on that one too except he didn't realize that he was not supposed to do a flip turn on that - so he got disqualified because he used his feet instead of his hands to touch the wall after the first 25 meters. LEARNING CURVE!! He will not do that again!

We have had 3 soccer games. Cam played at 8:00 and won which means he played again at 1:00. Colt played at 10:15. I am fried to a crisp with the soccer Mom tan(or burn I guess). Its from mid thigh to my knees, and my arms, part of my chest....all exposed areas. I look ridiculous.

Today we officially opend the pool so the kids are all in it now. Parents are coming over shortly for drinks and BBQ(Ive started early with the drinks).

The new Villas are awesome! It's more than I was expecting for a studio. There's more storage, a nice flat screen, comfy couch and all new appliances (mini fridge, etc). The shower isn't as nice as the Poly but all in all it's a great DVC addition.

We just got back from Blizzard Beach where it was packed. Great way to spend a hot day though.

oh you missed a GREAT day at the Seminole Lakes Pool...no diapers but a mom of a 2 yo, swiggin a beer, smokin a cig back to the pool and saying "mommy needs a break, go swim and don't bother me"

Ophie - which type of studio are you in? Is that a Standard view or a Savanna view or Concierge? We are doing a Value studio next month - I keep hearing how small they are BUT they're bigger than the cabins on the ship so I'm sure we'll be just fine! And of course we have to put DS on the pull-out sofa so that will cramp it up a lot. I thought the models we saw last summer were just gorgeous tho! I cannot wait!! Have a great time!

TZM: We are staying in a standard view, which ended up being a view of the pool. Can't complain. The room looks the same size as at SSR, BCV or VWL. Queen size bed, round table with 2 chairs, two small tables as coffee tables, etc. We will have another standard view room in July before the cruise. We are loving the room.

So, we're having a heat wave for the next few days...will be too hot to go outside & do too much as it's expected to be upper 90's again today. We had a storm come thru yesterday evening that made our power blip on & off several times. My pump on my pond stopped working. It did the same thing the other day during that whopper storm...it's plugged into a GFI outlet but everything else outside reset when we pushed the button. The other day I threw a spare pump in it to keep the water circulating until DH could get home & work on it...I don't know what he did to get it working again 'cuz I took Jared to swimming while he futzed with it. But it's out again so that needs to be a priorty this morning before it gets too hot. I don't have a surge protector on it since it's outside. Do they even make outdoor rated surge protectors??? Hummmm... But this is a problem that needs to be resolved.

Picked up a mess of green beans at the store the other day that I need to clean & cook today...yummmm. Love a good mess of beans that have simmered for hours & hours with some bacon or ham. (Yeah, I know, it kills the nutrients & vitamins but they are so-o good fixed that way!)

Yikes! When I read the first post there I thought this person must not know what they are talking about...they must have it confused with something else. That is the fun of a deck party, having it at night. If you do it before dinner, what do you do after dinner? The other changes havent bothered me, but this one sure does!

I'm not schlepping our costumes (or the glow necklaces that I ususally buy) for an hour. That just stinks. If they do the fireworks off the starboard side we can just watch from our room. <stomp pout pout stomp away>

Stupid cable and internet has been out since this morning! YUCK!

I for one hope they DO NOT decide to do this ridiculous early time for the pirate party. That's crazy, and there is no way I'm going to rush up there to see the party then rush back down to dinner. It's crazy.

Trevor has been cruising since 14 months old and that has never stopped him from going to one of the evening deck parties. Just because someone has small children doesn't mean that on vacation they cannot stay up a little later to have some fun too.
It's crazy to think about inconveniencing a LOT of other people for a few others.
I'm sorry, it just isn't right (could be my meds talking too, but this is one thing that will NOT go over well with me...they are already cutting the time in Nassau, which isn't that big of a deal because I'm not a huge fan of Nassau, but seriously now--this is getting a bit ridiculous.)

I saw on another thread that they're calling the Wonder "The Ship of Experiments". I am thinking that they must be experimenting with so many different things to help plan for the new ships or something. There are just too many things being messed with. The dinner times, the age of the kids in the club (they changed the 11-13 yo on the Magic), the pirate party time (they should just have 2 parties like they do 2 shows), the onboard / ashore times for Nassau (now we lose time at Atlantis)...heard they moved the shows around from one night to another........ WE ARE GUINEA PIGS!! WE SHOULD GET A DISCOUNT!

OK, so now I'm nervous....2 of my 3 references said the lady from my last interview has left messages for them! So far they've only played phone tag. Now what if they offer me a job and it's got terrible pay & benefits?! How do I negotiate around that!? I'm terrible at that sort of stuff!!!
