Yes it has a battery. But when running on batteries, it doesn't charge the iPod, so you gotta make sure the iPod is fully charged beforehand. But if they have an outlet we can use, it's much better to plug it in.

I forgot, this is what we did in Mazatlan: Randy's Happy Horses

my horse wasn't so happy though and kept trying to bite the other horses. Babs's horse would just take off and urn down the beach. A very interesting experience. Glad we did it just don't need to do it again.

Thats a great picture! I can't wait to meet all you guys!!! It's almost hard to believe that I haven't met you yet. It really feels like we have. I guess thats what a year and a half of "talking" every day will do.

Cucumber salad recipe please! and Fiesta dip? is that the 7 layer jobbie?

Looks like you were gettin' off the Magic the day we got on. That was a good trip. Coulda passed on Mazatlan though...

Fiesta dip is just a spicy dip mix & you mix it with mayo & sour cream (it's got like paprika & dried onion & garlic stuff in it).

Kansas Cucumber Salad

1 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoons cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon dill weed
1/2 teaspooon salt (opt.)
4 medium cucumbers, peeled & thinly sliced
3 green onions

In a large bowl, combine mayo, sugar, vinegar, dill and salt and mix well. Add cucumbers & onions and toss. Chill for at least one hour.


I use the salt (which is optional) and I use fresh dill so I add more than 1/2 teas. dill 'cuz I like the flavor and I figure if I buy the stuff fresh I may as well USE it - so I at least double what it calls for. I also use real mayo, none of that low fat stuff. I added little chunks of Havarti Dill this time just 'cuz I love it and it adds a little something different into it...but that's my own little addition. Totally not necessary. The dressing is tangy sweet, sorta like a coleslaw dressing...the dill just adds something different to it and it goes over well at a cookout type meal.


We enjoyed both Mazatlan and Cabo and would return to either as a destination. More likely to Cabo but we really don't want to go back to that side of Mexico in the summer 'cuz the weather was disappointing. That water in Cabo was freezing. I think the weather we had in PV is one reason we don't have PV on our return to list. Want to try a diff. time of year next time.
