NO-O biggie Miss RJ...it was just a day like any other...DS says "how old are you, Mom"? I couldn't even remember! Old enough to be getting mail from AARP! Hey SE - does DCL give AARP discounts?!

OK, well, it's raining and DS has swim practice from 8-9:30 (whoohoo - got to sleep in 30 minutes!). Catch ya'll later after practice!

3 years ago we were on the Magic on July 4:

That cruise left on July 2 (my birthday). I think that is just about the only year ever that I have ever done anything different or unusual for my birthday.

OK. Well, I need to go to the kitchen. I have decided to make the Tastefully Simple "Fiesta Party dip" to take today and I am going to experiment with putting some fresh salsa in it for something different. I figured if I am going to maybe start to sell the stuff in a month or 2 it wouldn't hurt to promote it among the neighbors, right?! I haven't decided if I should make the beer bread to go with it too or just take the "Scoops"?! Hummmm. I am also going to make my "Kansas Cucumber Salad" which is really tasty too. Both need to chill for awhile and since I am S-L-O-W I'd better get crackin'. Cheri - the Asian slaw stuff sounded really good but I think the only ingredient that I had already was Soy Sauce...so I opted for something with fewer ingredients!

Yes the shirts are white...with accents of DIS lime green

This lime green color has recently become DS's new favorite color I think! If he's choosing something by color he always goes for whatever has that in it.

OK, the Fiesta dip & cucumber salad are chilling - I am in an experimentation mood so I added some Havarti Dill cheese to the cucumber salad this time. The dressing on it is so-o good...I think it will be a stellar batch! DH said to just take the Scoops so I am not making the beer bread this time around.

It stopped raining but it is very overcast outside...and humid. I really wanted to sit outside for an hour or two today but no sun. I think tomorrow is also supposed to be rainy. Maybe Sunday will improve....

Yep, you got it! Like I wouldnt want them to wear the orange bathing suit with the shirt if its lime green...that wouldnt be pretty, LOL! Would you go with denim shorts? Khaki? I have green shorts, but not lime green...would that clash (the ones in the picture of the peeps, 1 last look on the site)?

Happy 4th!

We went to the pool about 10 this morning and stayed till 12 when the clouds rolled in...BOY!! Did it storm!!! I took a nap (a what?? what is that!!??) and now I am cooking baby back ribs, shrimp and corn on the cob. I hope the rain will stay away long enough to let me throw these ribs on the grill to finish!

Beano!!! Do you have a Sonic Impact Ipod player?? We took ours to the pool today and the battery won't hold a charge and I don't know where they sell these (oh, master of all technology!!)

ok...THAT WAS GOOD!!

I have not made Baby back ribs for 15 years and never like that...they came out so good..Rick doesn't like to eat ribs out because of the mess and I was too intimidated by them to try ( they use to always be charcoal when I made them) but I baked them in a pyrex for alittle over an hour then threw them on the grill for about 10 to brown them and the BBQ sauce...

i fell off the wagon again!! LOL..no bread but I think I had 6 ribs!!! they were good!!

I have an Altec Lansing model that sounds great. But it's way too big to bring on vacation... I also have a smaller Logitech set that sounds pretty good, and it's portable. That's what I'll bring on the cruises with me.

(oh, master of all technology!!)

I'm starting to organize/inventory the electronics we're bringing on this trip...

So far, we have

2 Laptops
2 PSP's
2 Video cameras
3 Still cameras

1 Set of walkie-talkies

What is in the cucumber salad, Annie, besides the obvious?

What did you do in Mazatlan, Cheri? We found an awesome beach at a restaurant and we just sat out there for a few hours and drank, and the kids played in the ocean (which was so clean and warm, I even went in). It was my favorite stop on that cruise.
