Dis-Dream Academy RP

OOC: How do you guys feel about extracurriculars? You know, like after-school plays, Student Council, sports teams, ROTC, newspaper/yearbook, speech/debate, perhaps a band/orchestra? Do you think we have enough teachers to coach or sponsor? Do you think we have enough students to participate? I mean, one of my teachers was in such a small school that the graduating class was in the double digits, sometimes single digits, and we saw in her yearbook that her brother was in just about everything, but I don't know how comfortable everyone is with doing that.
OOC: I think we have enough teachers and students for some activities like sports, Student Council, yearbook and such. And there are probably some characters who can participate in several different activities, like I was hoping to have Olivia do a sport, maybe cheer, and do morning announcements. Maybe even work on the yearbook if others want to be involved, I hadn't thought about it. We could always pretend there are other students around when the activities are involved, if we don't have enough with our own, just to make them more possible, but I'm not sure.

OOC: Marci and Jacqui will definitely do cheer, so I think we could have that if more characters do it. I think there should be some sport, even if it's just one.

OOC: Yeah, so there's three already. So if maybe two or three more characters join there's a cheer squad. I was thinking we could at least have football as a sport, as it's kind of the high school sport, but that's kind of a male dominated sport, so maybe soccer could be a better choice? Or both? Whatever everyone likes.

OOC: I was thinking football too, especially since that's where cheerleaders are usually seen. If we all wanted football, maybe it could be a girls and guys team? :confused3

OOC: That's where I was kind of stuck, because while I'm all for girls and guys can do anything the other can do, football isn't really a sport many girls play so it wouldn't make sense to have a girl football team if no one will play. But if not a lot of girls want to play a sport at all I don't think we should worry about it, so far I think I'm the only person who's said their girl character could play a sport other than cheer and I'm completely cool with Olivia not playing one.

OOC: I mean, Mr. Arthur and Miss Darling could definitely be doing the plays/musicals, right? And a gym coach can do cheerleading (looking @ you, silv) so I definitely think we can do it.

Hayden: He signed the paper.
James: He picked up the paper in disbelief. "Are... are you the only one?"
Hayden: "Looks like it, don't it?"
James: "Okay, just... go to study." He signed a pass for him.
Hayden: "Later days guys." He called as he picked up his backpack.
Carter: "Text me about lunch later."
Hayden: "No." He responded before closing the door behind him.
Natalie: She giggled.
Carter: "What a loser."

Olivia: She watched one boy leave the class and was mildly surprised he seemed the only one who wanted to leave. A part of her wanted to think it was because the class wanted to be apart of the music program, but it was more likely due to Mr. Arthur just being a good teacher.

James: "Alright! Now that that's out of the way, who's ready to sing?"

OOC: I mean, Mr. Arthur and Miss Darling could definitely be doing the plays/musicals, right? And a gym coach can do cheerleading (looking @ you, silv) so I definitely think we can do it.
OOC: Yeah, but I was thinking Miss karmichael could be the cheer coach kind of like in SOD (I think she was in SOD...)

James: "Alright! Now that that's out of the way, who's ready to sing?"
Olivia: She smiled and even clapped her hands, excited for her first great class and more comfortable around her classmates. "Woo!"

OOC: Yeah, but I was thinking Miss karmichael could be the cheer coach kind of like in SOD (I think she was in SOD...)

ooc: yeah I mean the specifics aren't ready to be ironed out yet but there's definitely a possibility of it happening, right?

Marina: "Woo-hoo!" She smiled. She got a warm feeling in her stomach- this was one of the only classes she was looking forward to this year.
Natalie: "YAAAS!" She cheered
Carter: Even Carter clapped in enthusiasm
Mr. Arthur: "Alright, we're going to do some vocal warm-ups, then we're going to divide you into voice parts. Ready? Repeat after me. AaaaaaAAAAAAAaaaaah!" He sang, the inflections in his voice changing as the notes did.

Nancy and Wade (who was dragging Veronique): All three entered the classroom.

Wade: "Sorry Mr. Arthur. My, uh, housemate, or, rather, army-base-mate" he began, elbowing Nancy, "is new to the school and she got lost so I had to find her because of it. And Veronique - well, you know Livre, can't get a book out of Livre's hands - or is it her head out of a book?" He looked at Veronique, who was STILL reading. He cleared his voice, and did his best Army Officer yell (which means it was VERY loud and VERY harsh). "LIVRE! WE ARE IN CHOIR NOW YOU NERD! SHOW SOME RESPECT!" He was secretly pleased when he noticed a bunch of people were surprised, an a couple of freshmen (fish) had even fallen over.

Veronique: She dropped the book, and her eyes were wide. "I'm SO sorry Mr. Arthur!" She really did like Choir, it was her second favorite class after English.

OOC: If you want to react to this, Newsies, might be funny

OOC: Yeah, that's why I thought soccer would be better than football. I actually completely dislike cheerleading, so as long as I never have to participate in it or anything like that you all can have full control over that

OOC: I was thinking football too, especially since that's where cheerleaders are usually seen. If we all wanted football, maybe it could be a girls and guys team? :confused3

OOC: Well, I was actually thinking any sport we do would be co-ed. We simply just don't have the people to not do it that way. Girls and boys will simply just have separate locker rooms.

OOC: That's where I was kind of stuck, because while I'm all for girls and guys can do anything the other can do, football isn't really a sport many girls play so it wouldn't make sense to have a girl football team if no one will play. OOC: Yes, I understood that the theatre would be run by you.

OOC: Yeah, I think soccer might be the better option. And even then, there's cheerleading at some soccer events so we could still have cheerleading.

All characters. "AaaaaaAAAAAAAaaaaah"

Jacqui: She knows that if she's not put in the soprano section that the world will burn.

Mine: Followed along with the warmups. Jordan, Hugo, Veronique were obviously talented singers. Wade's and Matilda's clear voices and annunciation (ooc: spelling?) made them pretty good despite a lack of natural talent. Nancy and Helena could carry a tune well enough to be passable. Havelock was clearly a beginner but not necessarily irredeemably bad, just like a muscle that hadn't really been worked before.

OOC: Sorry, I never saw this!

James: He stood up from the piano, stopping the warm ups. "Why are you yelling in my classroom? It's fine that you're late, but to be this disruptive in my first class? Not cool, guys. Just take your seats."
Carter: She literally got a headache from the crew who walked in. "Ohhh my god." She mumbled to herself.
Natalie: She gave Carter a small back rub to help her cope.
