Hi Dawn thanks so much. Yes it was a nice weekend and not too crazy LOL. Enjoy Cars it is a lot of fun!!
Beth that is just horrible about Adam's friend. So sad and so scary. I tell you when they are babies you worry about them getting sick or choking and when they are in school you worry about them getting kidnapped or hit by a car or all these crazy things and then when they are teenagers it is getting in a wreck or something crazy like this. It just NEVER ends does it and you are so right about life is precious!! My prayers go out to that family!!
As for our trip we are flying on Saturday to St. Louis and staying over by the Arch. My mom is from St. Louis but I guess the arch wasn't built before she moved in the 50's and eventhough she lived in Missouri in her 20's she never got over there LOL. So this will be her first time seeing it. None of us are brave enough to go up inside though LOL. Then we are going to go visit her father's grave which she has also never seen ( I went in 08 with Shane and saw both of those) and we are going to Grant's Farm which is a really neat place that is owned by Anhauser Busch. Has animals and a little german village. We are going to drive by her old house and the catholic school/church she attended and possibly some other things around ST. Louis depending on timing. We are then going to leave on that Monday to drive across Kentucky. We are going to stop at Churchill Downs where the Kentucky Derby is run as they have a cool museum there but otherwise it is just going to be a long day of driving with our destination being West Virginia. We will spend the night in Huntington which is where Marshall University is fyi (from the movie We are Marshall) then we will spend the entire next day driving across west virginia and virginia with our destination being Jamestown. Hope to be able to see it that night and staying in Williamsburg. Going to see Williamsburg and Yorktown and then stay in Virginia Beach. Then the rest of the trip we will be heading down the coastline. Going to go down the outterbanks and see Kitty Hawk and all the lighthouses and hopefully some cool sites from some of the Nicholas Sparks novels. All his books take place in the Carolinas. Then we are staying in Moorehead city and the next day headed to Myrtle Beach and plan to spend 2 nights there. Mom got us a cool room on the beach with a hotel that has a lazy river and some fun pools and such and they have a big boardwalk so looking forward to that. Then we drive to Charleston and spend the last three days there. Depending on time we may drive down to Hilton Head but we leave out of Charleston on the 12th. So I am SUPER excited. Always wanted to see that part of the country and love all the historical stuff as well as seeing the east coast. Been to Florida 4 times but never the beach. So we are really excited about the whole thing and then things just keep being crazy when we get back as that weekend shelby has her tap recital and she has both a matinee and a dinner show and that is also my parents 50th wedding anniversary although they aren't celebrating till the fall when they are going to hawaii. But then that Sunday is father's day and the girls and Shane and I are doing a superhero themed 5k. This will be my first ever and eventhough I am walking I am nervous because I will be coming off a week and a half of vacay. So it is going to be interesting LOL.
So LOTS going on and coming up. Can't wait!!!
