DIS Divas Trip! (old thread, see first post for link to new one)

Hello, ladies! :goodvibes

I also decided that I just can't have enough DL trips in one year so I'm back on boards trying to make the Diva trip..even with the WDW trip in the first week of March..I'm crazy but in a good way..right ? :rotfl:

My DH is behind me and thinks it would be good for me..and probably for HIS sanity too ! So that said I am going to try and make it..probably going to be looking for a roommate so I'll try to be more active and involved again. Wheeee !:grouphug:
That's great news, Rose!! I'm so happy you're going to join us!

We are having family fun weekend this memorial day weekend but my husband is planning it so who knows what we will be doing! We do have a family photo shoot on Saturday so hopefully it will be decent weather as it is outside! As this is the Pacific Northwest the chances aren't good but here's hoping!
I love seeing pics and hearing about your family fun weekends. Can't wait to see what your hubby comes up with. Fingers crossed for nice weather for the photo shoot. Save the gloom and drizzle for when I'm there!

There will be many chapters. Enjoy them all!
You're right, there will be. I hope I do get to enjoy each one.

I'm a bit disney'd out myself. I went in April but didn't last very long, I wasn't feeling the heat or the crowds.
Sorry you are feeling that way, but I do understand. I love Disney. I grew up going with my family and cousins. Then, my friends in high school, and Ruben when we started dating. Finally, taking each one of my kids there and having passes when we lived in Burbank. I've made memories over the years that I'll cherish forever.
But, the kids are older and are interested in other things, Disney had gotten too pricey for us, and frankly the idea of Disney is often better than the reality since it is most often hot and crowded.

Even this Diva trip has stopped being about Disney, for me anyway, and become more about a chance to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. :)

I'm super interested/excited about WDW. There is just SO much to see and do AND PLAN! I love planning vacations and fine tuning the small details, so it's fun for me.

I'm with you, the reason I don't want to miss out on the trip is seeing my friends and meeting some new Disney friends. I think it's really cool that we got that block discount for the hotel, we are going to stay in style!

Good Morning! :wave2:

Sorry for being MIA - these past two weeks have been very busy.

Beth - yes please go ahead and post my picture on the front page with the others :thumbsup2

I have to start figuring out the details of this trip so I don't get left in the dust. I'll spend some time this weekend reading through it again and the questions/answers that were posted on FB - that was very helpful. I'll wrap my head around it and get moving forward.

Have a great week!

Hi all!
Hope everyone is doing well! Life gets busy around here, but I do try to stay with the FB conversations and updates. I sometimes forget to head to this thread when I am on the Dis. It looks pretty quiet to me. :surfweb:

I am sure it will get chatty again once we lay down some plans. I am so excited! Have a good day everyone!! :beach:

I'm sad. I really wanted to go, but it looks like it will have to be next year. Have fun everyone.

Just looking at the front page and see that Linda and Jen have joined the scavy committee. Enjoy yourselves, it's a lot of fun being on the "other side".:)

Laters,

Hello ladies! Happy Hump Day :dance3:
I'm working OT on possibly Saturday and definitely Monday. I gotta start saving up for this trip. :thumbsup2

School is wrapping up with my last final being next Wednesday. :woohoo:

Hello ladies..hope everyone is having a good end of the week and preparing for the weekend. It's been a rough few days here..a good friend who I adore has lost her 2nd dog in 2 years so I spent much of yesterday bawling my eyes out. She is easily of the most awesome people I have ever known and between this and other struggles she always stays positive but this is hurting alot :(

I also spent almost all of Wednesday in bed..It started around 2am Tuesday when I started feeling nauseous and completely off..to the point of being ill all day..I feel so bad now..sigh.

I've been in a bit of a rut lately..and the hubby is taing notice..bleh I just am struggling with my usual self anxiety stint where I feel constantly bad in public..and my birthday impending which I don't like..summer isn't my favorite time of year..lol.

DH and I leave Saturday night for Groveland - my father in law has a cabin up there with a full bar , pool table , 60 inch tv and much drinking and BBQ will commence. I hope everyone has a great and safe weekend.

I'm going to Groveland, too! Is the cabin at PML?

Hey ladies! No real news here. Mouse Adventure was fun fun fun! I sure hope I can do it again in the fall :)

I'm truly sorry about your friends dog...2 in 2 years - that is awful.

I hope you feel better before the weekend so you can enjoy yourself.

Have a great time!

In a bit of shock right now. The bridge over I-5 in the next town south of us just collapsed into the water! Cars and people in the river. Prayers the rescue crews can get people out safely!

Hi there:wave2: Sent you a PM or two...or three.

I forgot how sunny it was the morning of the scavvy hunt this past year. Just finished uploading photos of the teams so here they are:

Sara I heard about that bridge that is crazy and scary. I too hope no one was hurt. I HATE bridges for that reason and every time I go across the bay bridge (esp since part of it DID collape during the 89 quake) I get nervous till we are on the other side! I am sure I went over that bridge too because I lived in Arlington and we used to go to Mt. Vernon all the time as well as Bremerton. Prayers to all involved!!

We had our own excitement here last night right after that. The girls went to their last school dance of the year and Katy was sitting in my bed with me telling me about it and shelby was downstairs and the bed started shaking. I said what IS that and Katy said oh the cat is scratching the bed and I was like uh NO the cat can't move the entire bed this much and just as it was dawning on me that it was an earthquake Shelby ran upstairs and said the whole downstairs was shaking. They had never felt one before but I have MANY times so it was kind of "fun" once you know it is not big and no big deal but still kind of freaky LOL.

Beth that is so odd that they hold the graduations AFTER school is over. Here the seniors actually graduate a week or more BEFORE school gets out which I thought was odd as well. When I was in school we graduated the last week a few days before the rest of the kids got out but most of the schools had their graduations this week and they still have all next week and get out on the 5th as well. I can't help but wonder though if that was a special deal since we didn't know till after January if we were going to get a short year. IF our taxes hadn't passed the last day of school would have been this Friday I think it was so that may be why. Will be interesting to see if it changes back next year. But anyway congrats to him and I know it is bittersweet. Katy is going into 8th grade and Shelby 7th and I can't believe they are getting this old. Before I know it I will be going to THEIR graduations. It will be kind of nice to go to one since Lynn dropped out but I still am not anxious for that day.

We don't have a whole lot planned for this weekend. My cousin is graduating from Sac State today and they are having a big party at my aunt and uncle's house so we are going to that and then tomorrow I am taking the girls to a mem day event at a local cemetery. They are having a vietnam wall and some other stuff that looked interesting.

Then the rest of Sat and Sun we will be washing and packing as we leave on our trip on Saturday!! So excited yet nervous now with the weather. I don't know if any of you remember but we got caught in Hurricane Wilma back in 05 when we went to Disneyworld so DEF don't want to experience any tornadoes and we ARE going to Missouri. EEK!

Then Monday Katy is running another 5k. Wed they have a min day as it is the visitation for the incoming 6th graders and Katy is going to be a tour guide and then just a few more days till we leave!!

Hope everyone has a fun weekend!!
