DIS Divas Trip! (old thread, see first post for link to new one)

So exciting!!!! You'll be so happy when she's here. :D

Hi Divas!!! Life has been hectic again, I miss you guys. LOL
I got hired yesterday to do a private party tomorrow night, I'm doing line dance lessons at a 16th birthday party. :) I'm super excited!! I need to get her a dance list together and send it to her today, I'm thinking about getting business cards with a pair of red cowboy boots that say Kerri's Kountry line dance instruction, what do you think?

The business cards sound cute. Country line dancing .... that sounds like a lot of fun .... that is if I didn't have 2 left feet!!! :rotfl2:

Keri, your business cards sound really cute. What a great business idea! Have fun at the party. :)

Hey, Amy, I'll be happy to help with pub crawl research and I have the perfect shirt. (I really do!)
Hope you post the dates - or is this research a 'private tasting'?

Happy Saturday, ladies!!

It's gorgeous outside here today. The girls are out doors manning the yard sale. It's a community wide sale, so they wanted to play along. We only had a few items, mainly clothing, to put out, but they are having fun with it, and I told them they could keep whatever they make. :)

I hope you all have a great weekend! :yay:

Good morning everyone !

We just got back from our trip on Thursday early morning ( 1am or so) and I had to work yesterday and today so I am just catching up.

Our trip was amazing , so many good memories and fun things.

Quick recap :

Photopass Plus was AWESOME. We didn't get as many pics as I planned but still worth it. Highly recommend.

Anaheim Plaza Hotel and Suites : GREAT STAY!! Would stay again ! We were in the 600 building 2nd floor with a view of the back of Tower of Terror.
Room was quiet - clean - always made up. Yes it is older , but the walk was great and we would definitely stay there again. Beds were firm but comfy .

STEAKHOUSE 55 - I don't have the words to express the amazing experience that my husband planned for us. I regret I did not take photos of the amazing food and wine we enjoyed..but let's just say we were barely walking afterwards.

After dinner we sat in front of the fireplace by Trader Sam's while they had live music playing and just enjoying the beautiful atmosphere..it was then DH and I decided we would be staying at the DLH for our next trip in December !

Trader Sam's - This is now a MUST do on every trip from now on. I had numerous drinks - pretty much sampled most the menu along with the pulled pork bbq flatbread..NOM NOM. Loved the atmosphere and forgot we were even in California for awhile !

It was a busy trip but worth every moment. I hope everyone is doing well :):thumbsup2

I might be interested as well.... Of course my AP is blocked on Saturdays, but any other day is good! LOL

Parent Teacher Organization. Hmm. I thought it was PTA. Meh, what do I know. I never participated in either when my kids were little. I started to, but the other moms were quite snobbish. Not for me.

. :p

It had been really fun, but this year there are a few people on the board that are really cliqueish and mean. I just want us to plan out great events and execute them well, they seem to want to push against the administration and just wing the events. It drives me nuts! And they make me feel like I'm in high school again and they are the "in-crowd" and I'm not. So frustrating!

Oh well.

My son rode a mechanical bull today.

Some people just don't know how to leave high school behind.

Hubby has a job interview at 1PM (CA time) tomorrow. Happy job thoughts appreciated...

Tuesday morning is registration for my annual Stampin Up Convention. It's their 25th anniversary and looks like it's going to be a MAJOR party. So I'll be up early (for me) Tuesday morning. Lately I've been staying up till 1 or 2 AM and sleeping till 8:30 or 9. Tuesday I need to be up at about 6:30 to start signing up for stuff. Should be interesting. LOL

Hello, ladies! And so Monday rears it's ugly head once again. Dang it. But, I hope you all had a lovely weekend! :goodvibes

You got it, lady! :thumbsup2

I saw Oz yesterday and I really liked it.

Oh, good. I never did go see it. I heard too many mixed reviews. And, even though we had movie gift certificates, I don't want to use them on something that is so-so. I'm waiting for something spectacular. LOL Which, sadly, not too many movies fit that category lately....

Thanks ladies. :) I think it could be a lot of fun. The lesson went really well, everyone had fun and I taught for about an hour. It was a positive experience for sure.

I liked Oz, it was a good movie. Micah and I both enjoyed it.

I had a good weekend, busy but good. Saturday I did some weeding before the party and the party itself went well. After Jade and I went to Olive Garden for dinner, that was sooooooooo good!!! LOL Yesterday we ran a few errands then we planted 10 tomato plants, 4 cucumbers, 3 window boxes, a Calla Lily, some Canna Lillies, a couple of other potted plants and we replanted the Ficus Tree. We also worked on sprinklers and did more weeding.....then we ate dinner (take out) and watched a couple of Red Box movies, we had Skyfall and Chasing Mavericks. Both were very very good!
Tonight I have class at the bar, should be a fun one. :)

Glad you had such a great time. Steakhouse 55 and Trader Sam's are two places I have not been, so glad to hear glowing reviews.

I might be interested as well.... Of course my AP is blocked on Saturdays, but any other day is good! LOL

I will have to check out my blockout dates too, but it will be during the week. Kid leaves Sunday and comes back on Saturday. Ugh...hated typing that out.

My son rode a mechanical bull today.

And how many kids can say that? I, too, have riden a mechanical bull, and was actually fairly good at it, all those years of riding horses bareback gave me some balance.

Woo hoo Lisa. Hope the interview went well. And wowsie, the Stampin Up convention should be a blast for you. How many years have you gone?

Awesome Chris, an orange shirt? You most totally rock, Duuuuuuuuude.

Of course the research is private, helllllllloooooooooo.....it will be a competition. So no peeking when we are scribbling in our notebooks, okay?;);)

I saw Oz yesterday and I really liked it.

I liked Oz too,but was a little disappointed. I thought it would be amazing and spellbinding, and it was "good". My expectations were a bit too high.

Thanks ladies. :) I think it could be a lot of fun. The lesson went really well, everyone had fun and I taught for about an hour. It was a positive experience for sure.

That is great. I am sure the class attendees had fun too.

I am still trying to get my heart and mind around the tragedy in Boston yesterday. It is kind of making any of my petty stuff seem, even more petty.

It is grey and chilly for San Diego today which makes me super de duper happy. Thinking about playing hooky this week and going to DL. DD is finding out today if she has tests on Thursday. Tomorrow was out due to the excitement of a brain specialist coming to talk to her science class. Woo hoo, neurologist vs. DL. The neurologists win.:sad2:

Hmmm...maybe there is a she is going to math and science camp this summer, huh?

Have a divine Tuesday girly girls!!!:woohoo:

Happy thoughts, hope it went well.

I really liked it as well. I'm not sure why it got such bad reviews (at least here locally.):confused3

Hey LisaCat - I sent you a message on Facebook. It looks like we may be able to make our Grand CA reservations soon.

HI everyone! Same stuff going on around here. :headache: My kitchen is officially gone.

Lisa, hoping the interview goes good. Happy thoughts to you and your DH! :wizard:

Amy, I feel your thoughts about Boston. :sad2:

Beth, I haven't seen OZ either. Dave and I really don't go to the movies all that much anymore. It seems like by the time we get dinner, we are too tired to go see a movie. LOL..... I think that might be getting old.

Sarah, I know what you mean about PTA stuff. It can change from year to year too. Hopefully in the future, the board will change out, and things will get better. :thumbsup2

Rose, I love love Trader Sam's! I always have to go there too on every trip. Their Hawaiian burger is so good! I also tried Steakhouse 55 for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We were down south for a funeral, and stayed in Anaheim. Talked Dave and our best friends into going to downtown Disney, and ended up there, cuz the Jazz Kitchen had an hour wait. :headache: SH 55 was wonderful, and our waiter was the best. We were trying to figure out what bottle of wine to order, and he asked us if we'd like to go into the wine room and try the two kinds we were wondering about. That was so nice!! We felt special! :goodvibes Oh and our food was fabulous! :cloud9:

Kerri, your idea for business cards sound really cute! :cutie:

Jen, How exciting to feel the life of your little girl. So very special!

Just saying hey howdy hey!! This week is dragging..... Hope youare all having a good one!

The interview went well. They are a consulting firm and, if hired, he would be working for either a client in Concord or here in Sacramento. They expect a decision in about 2 weeks.

This will be my 8th Convention with Stanmpin' Up. I've been every year since I joined. Next year will be the first one I miss (probably) as we are hoping to do a cruise next summer.

Keep me in the loop for the pub crawl research trip. What are the dates again, so I can "pencil" it in?

It's windy here again today. My allergies are SO not happy about it. LOL

Wow, people must be busy. I came back and the thread didn't explode into another 15 pages.

Going to DLR this weekend. I'm even paying the blockout price on Saturday  It's the last time I will be going with my sister and BIL as they are moving next week to Kentucky as that is where my BIL is stationed with the army. I still can't wrap my head around that. It will be so weird to not see my sister every day (currently living with us) or even a few times a week (when they had an apt).

I plan on visiting them sometime this fall; might even be a roadtrip.

Let's hope!

I hope everyone is having a great week! My week has been insanely busy but we are having family fun weekend this weekend so that is something to look forward to! It will include a pancake breakfast at the local senior center, painting pottery, going to a local cupcake shop that won on cupcake wars, a friends kids birthday party, hot dog kabobs, kite flying, puppet making, a new restaurant, and swimming!

Laters,
