HI Ladies! So we are looking at deciding which character meal we want to do this year! We have narrowed it down to two(Dinner at Goofy's Kitchen or Brunch with Minnie and Friends in the park)...they are both buffets! Which would you like?

I voted for Goofy's at Dinner because I have never done it.

I just voted, I've done Goofy's several times, too, so I voted for Minnie's.

Yes it is! I picked Minnies because I have done Goofys lots of times and would like to have a meal in the park instead of outside the park. Also I enjoy a variety for breakfast/brunch.

Have fun voting everyone!

Ultimately I don't care, but know that Minnie's is not a "buffet" like you normally think of it. Essentially it is all you can eat but has limited food items and they serve you from behind a counter. There are some add-ons--fruit and dessert--that are self serve.

You've done Minnies before? What types of food did they offer? Is it like Storeytellers as far as the way they serve?

No--not like Storyteller's at all--not nearly the variety of foods. If I remember correctly, you stand in a line and they give you a plate of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes biscuits and some gravy. Another station has Mickey waffles (although sometimes they are out) and fruits and pastries. You can have all you want, but the CM's "serve" you. There aren't "brunch" dishes or salads or anything like Storyteller's or Goofy's for breakfast. It's a limited breakfast menu. The characters come around to the tables --mostly Pooh characters, but also Captain Hook if I remember.

don't get me wrong--it's good. It's just not like the other "buffets."

Here's the menu I just pulled from allears.net:

Kellogg's Cereals
Made to order Omelets
Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Bacon
Biscuits and Gravy
French Toast
Mickey Waffles
Variety of Muffins, Croissants, Danish & Fruit

Thank you so much! Since this is exactly the menu I would want for breakfast I am very excited...and if it is not where everyone wants to go, I will just be sure to take my kiddos next time we go!

I voted for Goofy's dinner. I like the thought of a fun, big group dinner. :cool1:

But I've never been to either place, so which ever wins I am happy with. :goodvibes Heck, it's food and it's at Disney. It's a win-win situation. :thumbsup2

I've never been to either one too. I voted for Goofy's because Tour Guide Mike always used to say do not go to a buffet unless you can get there early.

Dinner sounds like fun!

I voted Minnie, 'cause unless I'm staying at one of the Disneyland resort hotels, there's no way in heck I'm gonna wanna drag myself all the way to Goofy's. Also, I tend to eat more at breakfast. :rolleyes1

In all honesty, I'd be willing to do both and just take Ariel's out of the picture.

I voted for brunch because my dad will be with us and we don't want to leave him out of a dinner.

I wanted to Thank Sarah for putting this poll up.:goodvibes

And just say.. I'm not voting because for the price of a character meal..my mom and i could eat at napa rose one night. So we are going to go that route. I'm gonna save my money for that.

We will be in for lunch at carnation cafe if you all do that again.

I deffinitely want to do carnation cafe again! So even if for some bizarre reason it doesn't get scheduled, I'll go with you! Your mom will be there too right? She was one of my scavenger hunt people and I adore her!

Carnation Cafe will definitely be on the schedule as one of the group meals again. We'll just need to have volunteers to make the reservations at several tables again like last time. :thumbsup2

Mmmmm, baked potato soup. Cheap, simple, and so delicious! :cloud9:

Carnation Cafe is so super awesome. They have the yummiest foods.

Now I understand why you all got in narrowed down to 2 but hadn't picked one yet, talk about an even poll...10 people who put in their 2 cents and still exactly even! Crazy. I have the poll up for 5 days so hopefully everyone who wants to have a say will do so in that time!

I love polls! :rotfl:

I can't decide on which one I would rather do. I've never done either, and to be honest.........shhhhhhhhhhhh..........I don't really like character meals. :rolleyes1

Why don't I like character meals? Well, there are two reasons. One, there seems to be so much running around and madness when visiting the parks that when I sit down to eat, I want to just relax and chill for a bit. That's tough to do at a character meal. With every mouthfull of food, you have to jump up again to take another picture with a character. Second, I never know what to say to the characters. They get to our table, and then I'm on the spot to say somthing to them, and I never know what in the heck to say. I don't know, I guess it just makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Luckily as a mom, I can usually hide behind the camera and take pictures while my boys do most of the interacting. ;)

So I'm going to have to think about which one I would rather do. Do I want breakfast or dinner food for a character meal? Hmmmmmmm.....:scratchin

I agree, Carnation Cafe is a must do!!! And Wine Country Trattoria - that was good. I think we were going to do something in DTD as well this time, right?
