Ok, I feel like I was too negative!
We did have a wonderful trip and lots of magical moments and wonderful cast members. It's just that I had never had the UNmagical ones before.
Examples of amazing moments:
Ordering Gluten free at Art of Animation: Chef Dan was amazing and made a wonderful pasta dish just for us. When I asked him if we might be able to purchase a loaf of the gluten free bread, because we had forgotten to pack one and forgotten to order one and our little guy who is celiac and diabetec was struggling with getting carbs. He went in the back and packed up a to go carton with gluten free rolls and 1/2 loaf of gluten free bread and brought it back to us and told us to have a great trip and come see him if we needed anything else. I teared up and gave him a big hug. Seriously, it is such a struggle for my friends with just the day to day stuff and having 3 small children, it really meant a lot to have someone go out of their way to make it a little easier.
Concierge at Polynesian: When I messed up the arrival time for our Luau reservation he did everything he could to help me out, get us a different reservation etc. And when that couldn't work he gave my son and I both leis and told us to have a magical evening, and waived the no show fee. Then after I finally met up with the rest of our pary who had arrived at the Luau an hour later, was told they had to go in or pay full price anyhow and then the food server had put their food on the table and it was all cold, they had missed the show and the server was gone for the evening because of the requirement that she leave the floor and they in general just had a horrible experience because I had the time wrong, and then when I went and spoke to the same Concierge and explained what had happened because I just didn't think it was right that they had not gotten the same treatment as I had gotten. He totally agreed, was very apologetic and gave my friends back their meal credits, and even though I hadn't been charged he gave me a credit on my room just because he wanted me to have a wonderful trip. I didn't ask for any of this nor expect it, but it was an act that made the disney difference.
I know that my friends son was thrilled with all of his pin trading moments with the cast members and he was gifted a couple of pins for patiently waiting for his sisters
One of my favorite moments: I had ridden the bus to the Art of Animation to give my sister a head set so she could work her last two days. It was midnight before I was headed back to the Bay Lake and I though I had to take the bus to DTD and then transfer to Bay Lake Towers Bus. I was the only one that got on the bus and I asked the driver if I would be able to get a transfer at DTD to Bay Lake and he said yes. Then after we drove for about 5 minutes, he said, OK young lady (I liked that title)...I am going to drive you to the Contempo. YiPPEE! Personal bus taxi at midnight. Does it get any better than that???
Anyhow, I have to say, there were tons and tons of really great interactions and really great moments. And, I wouldn't mind going back with hubby for food and wine or perhaps over the holidays. But for my kids, they are just into rides and if that is all we are doing, then I'd rather do it with less effort. Or perhaps when my youngest is old enough to be off on his own, then we can all do our own thing and get together now and again. But I didn't really enjoy being drug all over the parks to take advantage of the fast passes and get in as many rides as possible. Too much work for me

And I didn't get to explore enough.
So there you go...Just didn't want to leave a negative taste out there because it was a really great trip.
And my dear friends bought me Sketch Dooney as a thank you for planning the trip! That was an awesome grand finale!
