I am not going to start until next week but thought I would share my details now with you all.

I have a lot of weight to lose and am going to set myself mini targets...as looking at the big picture had ever got me anywhere in the past. I have always done Slimming World & managed to lose the first 2 or 3 stone ok but then I get stuck and always fall of the wagon & put it all back on.

This time I am not going to go to classes but am going to go it alone at home with hubby as he wants to lose a little bit too. I am also going to start exercising, I have had a wii fit since they first came out & it got used twice :rolleyes1, we have also recently finished decorating our spare room and I am going to put my exercise bike in there.

I hope to lose a minimum of 2lb a week and I would like to have lost at least 3 stone by Easter. :wizard: Good luck everyone. :wizard:

Last year with the help of dis dieters and the weight watchers books that i purchased of ebay i managed to lose 18lbs. To be honest i found it quite hard as i wasnt able to go to any classes. However ive managed to get some other weight watchers books and things from ebay so im going to give it another go this year.

Im still unable to go to any classes but im going to have a weekly weigh in at my mums so no cheating for me this time! :goodvibes

We are going on the DCL Western Cruise on the 2nd May so my aim is to lose 1 stone before then! Thats about 17 weeks so 1lb a week for me would be good.

Good Luck everybody! :goodvibes

 Best of luck hun. I was also considering starting next week as we still have so much hershy's chocolate left in the house from christmas:) but I've been really good today, I'm starving now - but I'll get over it.
It's nice that you have your DH to do it with too, my DH also wants to lose so I've already grilled him tonight about what he's eaten at work today!

I'm in the same place as you - lose it, then put it back on. I have one wardrobe of thin (okay, not that thin :lmao: ) clothes and one of fat - the thin ones are soooo unfashionable now :rotfl2: so DH has promised me a substantial amount of dosh for a new wardrobe if three stone is lost, otherwise he dumps the thin lot for good and we use the cupboard for something else :sad2:

Good luck Claire:thumbsup2

Thanks Joanne.....that is why I am not going to start to next week. We still have so much food left from christmas, I even bought less than normal this year. :confused3

I am exactly the same with my clothes....I have clothes in about 5 different sizes and I am determined to bin them all as they get too big for me this time!
My dh only needs to lose about half a stone & then tone up a little but he is very supportive.

I am going to save the money I would spend going to class each week and also save £1 for each 1lb lost in a "New Clothes Fund" and also put in a bonus such as £10 for every half stone & £20 for every stone, that way I should have lots of money to buy a whole new wardrobe when I eventually get to target. :thumbsup2

Great idea, I might try that!

Can I join you please? I need to lose a little weight but mostly need to trim up and get fit.

Got a trip planned for end of June and would love to look great on holiday. I would love to feel good in a swimsuit again.

Started tonight with a really good fast walk and feel good to have started.

The Paul McKenna plan worked great for me before so going to use his CD again.

Hope everyone is off to a good start for 2009.

You'll be surprised how quick it adds up & you don't miss the odd tenner here and there. :goodvibes

I've done exactly this to save money towards getting my hair done for our wedding. I want highlights and extensions so it's not cheap! So far I've got £350. Every time I lose a pound I put the same in the jar, and if I put it on I put in double. I've added bonuses in there too, like when I went down a dress size or got into a pair of trousers I couldn't fit in before :thumbsup2

 Wishing you all the luck in the world, Tracy. I don't know anything about lipotrim, but you look after yourself. You're a great Nana:)

thank you joanna!
lipotrim,is a liquid diet,so quite tough.can't wait till wed,to see if i have,lost anything.fingers crossed!

Right I'm back!

I am going to continue with my RC plan, it worked really well last year and from the summer until Nove I lost 2 1/2 stone although I have another few to go.

I can't start until tomorrow as today is my birthday, so there's no way I can't eat cake and chocs lol.

I want to bust off another stone and a half before trip in April.

Good luck for 2009 everyone, thanks for all your support in 2008.

Happy Birthday - good luck from tomorrow!!

Hi everyone. I am aiming to lose about a stone and if I manage that, then maybe another half a stone. I want to be able to fit into my clothes better.

Last night I watched the "Paul Mckenna I can make you thin" programme on TV and I think I will give it a try. The basic principles regarding eating seem very similar to how I used to be, so I am hoping it will work. I'm not sure what time scale to put on it though. Maybe a stone and a half by Easter.

Good luck everyone

Good luck, Teresa! I rate the Paul McKenna method very highly and really recommend getting the book and CDs - I'd lend you mine but I think there's a more up-to-date version now that comes with an extra CD and journal now. You can get it from QVC - here's a link - (5% cash back thro Quidco...;) ) It really changed my attitude to food... :goodvibes

Hi
As DW is following the Paul McKenna diet I figure I'm going to be following it anyway.;)
I did lose a couple of stone and put it back on again. It's a change in life style I need to adopt or I'll only yo-yo again so the Mckenna diet looks like a good way to go.:thumbsup2
Good luck, Tony! My DH followed along with me a few years back and was very impressed with the straightforward way it worked...

I've got the Paul McKenna Books and Cd's at home and the principles work really well actually but I also found it really helpful to download the cd's onto my MP3 player and then go to sleep at night listening to it.

I did that too - I found it worked brilliantly. :thumbsup2

The Paul McKenna plan worked great for me before so going to use his CD again...

Good luck to you too! I'm a big fan of the Paul McKenna method - that's how I lost weight originally and I still use some of his techniques when I feel a craving (usually for bread which doesn't agree with me) coming on...

I think that is great, It really worked for me the rc diet,it still is,thats 4 years now I have stuck with the 5% fat thing, the thing with a low fat diet is you train yourself for life, unlike a fad diet or a shake diet, you can not do that forever.Good luck and happy birthday

You can get the whole PM set including 5 cds and the 90 journal on EBAY, I got a brand new set for £19, it sells at about £40 odd on his website so it was a lot cheaper :goodvibes

Hi Guys,

I weighed myself yesterday for the first time in 2 months, we don't have scales in the house, as I have 2 teenage daughters who are very body conscious, even though they are fine and go to the kids gym twice a week, but you know girls!:rotfl:
I have lost a pound, which surprised me, as you should see the amount of chocolate and crisps that have been through my house over that time period, so maybe if I hadn't eaten so much of it I would have lost loads.:lmao:

I don't really follow any form of diet, as I am such a fussy eater and have a couple of lovely medical conditions which mean that I can be fine eating something one day, and then it can make me really ill the next.:confused3
I do use the slim fast shakes during the week, as otherwise I forget to eat and then pig out in the evening, this way I think about what I eat. At the weekend DH reminds me and makes sure I have something, as I am really forgetful due to my disability.

I also have reduced mobility, so standing or walking is painful, but I go to aquacise once a week and am trying to get back into the habit of going to the gym 2 or 3 times a week, I was supposed to start back yesterday, but got snowed in!

I lost a stone and a half over the last year, but still need to lose about 9 stone:scared1:   I started to put the weight on when I got ill, and since I have been ill for the last 16 years, it has been getting worse and worse. I went from someone who was always very active to someone who could barely stand up.

I want to lose it gradually and properly, so it stays off, so I will be happy with a bit at a time, but would like to have shifted a chunk for DLP in March with my tall very slim friend, and then a lot more for October when we go back to WDW.

Sorry for the long essay,

Sid xx

I've got 6 stone to loose but so that I don't get hung up on lbs and stones I'm weighing myself in Kilos so I have 40kg to loose (sounds better than 84 lbs :rotfl: ) I actually started in November and it was my GP that prompted me to get started.

Some of you might remember that I had a nasty fall when the kids and I were in WDW in September and my knee was still swollen and painful 2 months later. I went to my GP about it and he basically told me that all the extra weight I was carrying wasn't helping my knee at all and that if I kept going at the sort of weight I was at, that I could look forward to more joint problems as I got older.

That sort of shocked me into doing something about it and rather than waiting until the new year (when I'd probably be heavier still) I decided to start there and then. I'm following WW as I had some success with them a few years ago although I'm not going to meetings. I weigh myself every Tuesday and get weighed once a month by the nurse at my GP surgery.

I've given up sugar in my tea (which now tastes awful  ) have switched to skimmed milk and I'm hoping to start exercising in the next week or two. So far I've lost 11kg so I'm really pleased with that and I can't wait to actually be able to buy some decent clothes and not have to shop at Tents R Us :thumbsup2

Good luck to everyone starting this week
