Dis Con 2 – Day 5, December 7, 2002

After a quick breakfast from Tubbie’s, was off on the bus to the Animal Kingdom – today was the Animal Kingdom day. I sat waiting for the park to open and the rest of the group to join up and enjoyed the last of my fruit for breakfast. The talking palm tree came up to me – I took a picture of it – with it saying “cheeseeeeeeeee”. After I took the picture the tree told me that I owed it a hug – so I hugged the tree – the tree started going in circles and saying I have a girlfriend.

Soon, we were all ready to start the adventure – we started at the Festival of the Lion King – love this show and now that Hunchback is closed at MGM – this has become my favorite show. Then to the safari – we filled one whole truck. We stopped for lunch at the Tusker House. Some of us had a drink called ‘Lost on Safari’ – they were pretty good too. After lunch we hit Dinosaur and whirl. Then to Tough to be a Bug – then 2 went on Kali – I went along as the officer holder of all items and to take pictures.

Next it was time for the marathon safari rides – but I stayed behind to save a spot for the parade. Before the parade started more Dis’ers came up and shared my little corner and then we proceeded to the safari. The rest of the group was waiting for their second ride and we were able to join them.

Round 2 and 3 of Safari

Guess we missed the highlight of the first safari – but lots of fun was had on the second ride too. When we got back – we all got out for a picture and then got the word that we could have the last safari for the day. Our driver turned off the recording and if an animal was out – she would stop the truck for a few seconds for pictures.

But alas the fun was over too soon and we were slowly walking our way out of the park and to the bus stops. After a short ride back to the Dolphin was soon getting ready for another fun evening.

We were attending the Mystery Dinner Theatre at the Grosvenor Resort which is across from Downtown Disney. I got ready and went downtown for some more shopping – ran into a couple of Dis’ers and begged a ride and soon was checked in and meeting up with the rest of the gang in the lobby.

Soon, we were ushered upstairs, and found our tables. This is a buffet with the normal buffet food served and the dinner theatre happens all around you before during and after eating. This was more fun with a group then it would be with just a couple of two – but that is just my humble opinion. We were definitely the loudest group they had had for a while I bet. Even a couple of Dis’ers were involved and our own Joe aka Zarr was one of the suspects.

Murder Mystery Pictures

In the end the murder was solved – not I am not giving any spoilers here and soon the groups were heading out. Some went to Karoke I among them – and spent the rest of the evening laughing and singing. I crawled into bed with another smile on my face around 1:30.

Mickey bar total = 2:smooth:

Our own Joe akar Zarr made a great HOOK, didn't he?

I agree that this dinner is great fun with a large group of people who want to have fun. I don't think it would have been nearly so entertaining if it had just been me and Wilgus.

What a GREAT day, Marla! :)

I saw the Lion King show too - it ws absolutely fantastic! Definitely on my list of things to do again!

Your last safari ride sounds really, really neat!
