Good morning ladies

Sha - I hope you feel better real fast and that you have a great trip to Virginia! I also had tomato soup yest, but I made it cream of tomato so it wasnt so acidy.

Laurie - Glad you are better too.

O.K. is there a winey smiley? I am so mad. I have spent like the last half hour trying to make an ADR for Dec. for Le Cellier and NAda, Zip, Nothing for 5 Days!!?? I tried lunch, dinner, tables of 2,3 and 4. O.K. I am getting desperate. That was the only adr I absolutely wanted. Dh only wants Shulas. So I guess my plan B is gonna be to call Disney the day the candelight pkgs go on sale and try to get one then. If not my 2nd choice candelight will be Tutto. So 6 months out and I cant even get a lunch or dinner at one place for 5days, insane!! We are going December 7-12th. I think the parade stuff will be over taping just probably the pop warner kids but they dont really bother us. Dh wants "new" restraunts, so I will try and add Shulas and probably Flying Fish or Citricos this time.

I am doing my teaching material prep. Ds likes my room decoratig ideas and I am working on the daily material stuff now. Hmm, how many parts can a cowboy puppet have. At least 10 and I did 2 of them.

Dh is going overnight to PA next week. Tomm. ds18 will go to the college and fix his class schedule. One good thing. His hs teacher also teaches at the comm college. and she gave ds the western civ book as she had one. So $$ money saver for us. Yeah!!

family trip... to go home basically. stay at mom's sister's. Will be driving but have to get there, as mom has immediate plans with others. Just got run down.

O.K. What have I been doing to waste the day? Well just finished the adrs. This is the lst time I finally did it all on line. It was frustrating to me.

I had to keep looking at my calendar versus the online screen etc.

So far we have:
12/7 Shula dinner. Figure, let dh get it out of his system and then he can compare all other food for the rest of the week to this?

12/8 - Flying Fish dinner. Laurie - did you have the scallops here? Did you substitute the risotto? I dont think I would care for that.

12/9 - Keeping the day open and I pray I get the Le Cellier Candelight, if not Tutto. I just hope the narrarator for that day is decent

12/10 - Liberty Tree Lunch - Pot Roast because it was too hot to eat it in May, dinner - Cape May - of course dh has to have crab legs

12/11 - Kona dinner. Last time we were fighting over the creme brule. If dh wants one, he will have to order his own.

I think that is enough $$ for sure. And this time we are paying oop but its ok since we got 40% off the room etc.

I hope my dh will be happy with all of this.

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been MIA here lately, but it's been a crazy seven days.

Last Friday I went for my gynecology consult. It went well - the doctor said I didn't need a full hysterectomy, just an oophorectomy. I was happy with that bit of information. However, it didn't last long. Later in the day while I was out to lunch with DD, my niece and her new husband the oncologist called and told me something came up on the PETscan. There is something going on with two lymph nodes in my right armpit, they don't know what. I saw the surgeon on Tuesday and he said he wants to do an axillary dissection. I asked what he is planning on removing and he said the two nodes and any others he can get his hands on. He talked to my gynecologist and they are going to be able to do both procedures the same day as an outpatient. I am seeing the oncologist tomorrow as I have my Herceptin infusion, also. I have been on the emotional roller coaster since Friday and trying to be positive. When I received this news, it felt as though someone had just punched me in the stomach. I was feeling so good, doing well with my exercising and dieting and finally starting to sleep better. The biggest problem now is the wait for the final pathology after the procedures. It will be about two weeks after the operations, which I'm having on June 23rd. I wanted it done as soon as possible.

Sha---hope you feel better soon! Lots of "crud" going around up here....allergy symptoms turning to upper resp infections, etc.

Lisa--I am so sorry, that "punched in the gut" feeling is one we all know well. I would like for you to try to focus on just how WELL you were feeling before the call. That is what's REAL in the here and now. Don't bleed before you're shot. Though we all do it. It's hard not to...but just try to focus on the positives as you wait for the procedure and results. Thoughts and prayers with you.

LMP- I think the scallops at FF are DIVINE!! I like their signature red snapper too. DH thinks their NY Strip steak is the best on property, even over Yachtsman or Le Cellier (go figure!)

Laurie--I will be at the Dolphin...Swan and Dolphin are equally favorite for me, for different reasons

Need your prayers and positive thoughts for DD 23---she might have Lupus Have to buy her a notebook for thoughts/questions/results/info...and we are trying not to be bleeding just yet. My gut still thinks she's hypothyroid though the bloodwork is always "normal" for that, so her PCP won't treat for it. She has more classic hypo symptoms than lupus symptoms but is significantly positive for some enzyme indicative of lupus, which was discovered by bloodwork ordered by a dermatologist she was referred to for hair loss. She's waiting now for a referral to a rheumatologist for further eval on the lupus . Sigh.

I did have the scallops as we can't get them down here much. I really liked them. I just had whatever normally comes with the scallops. Can't remember the details as it has been going on two years.

DH had the snapper and it was awesome.

It can be a noisy place, try and sit at a window table, even if it is a small table.

Good service.

Interesting that your DH liked the beef better than elsewhere.

It is so handy going there when you are staying at one of the EPCOT restaurants.

I hope the lupus test is negative, Ann. Has your daughter been to an endocrinologist? I have read that the specialists are much more discriminating when it comes to diagnosing hypothyroidism. They do use the blood work, but I think they consider a more narrow range normal than other generalist docs, or at least that is what I read. The endos also rely heavily on the clinical symptoms, which I thought was very interesting.

I remember receiving a very involved clinical background questioning by the doc, both here and from my New Orleans endo (been having thyroid issues since 1991).

I have not ventured inside the Dolphin.

My goal is to stay at both as well as the Yacht and beach club but I don't know if DH will go along.

Got big plans this summer for some summer fun at my friend's house. There is a great concert series right in the neighborhood. I seem to have a standing invite just as she has a standing invite for hurricane evacuation scenarios.

DD14 is going to camp for 2 weeks in July, so I know I am going then. I have a lot of work to do right now with the budget at work so I need to get ahead so I can have some play time.

Hi ladies, it is me from a long time ago. Wishing good thoughts for everyone.

I accidentally missed my mammogram back in march.

In the meatime I feel achey all over from time to time til this past week when it has been almost constant. My friend and I think I have fibromyalgia as I seem to have the symtems. My dr said well you didn't go for your mammogram so thats what could be going on. Gee thanks. I honestly don't think it is.

Anyway I am having a mammo with magview and don't know what the magview is? I looked it up online and really couldn't find out what it was. The soonest I can get in is July 1st. Last time after my biopsy it was just calcifications which I am hoping I don't have to go for another biopsy or if I do it is the same thing. My mom and my aunt both had breast cancer so I should be more responsible but there was a heck of alot going on at the time and they don't call to remind you.

So a mom update. She is still having soreness but improving. We met with a rad oncologist today. What a nice guy! We also got the Oncotype results back. Low risk and high risk results have clear protocols. My mom's came back 'moderate.'. As usual, that is a bit of a tricky result. Not the cut and dried result I was hoping for. Not bad but now we still need to wait to speak to the regular oncologist to determine the game plan. She seems to be very positive. I am positive too. I have less anxiety than before she had her surgery but I had a bad dream last night that she was crying because she was afraid of the treatment. She not in reality but I guess I'm just worried for her.

Fl Lisa - . I am so sorry you had to hear that news. I know the feeling with the 7 operations last year. Its like you think, what this surgery didnt work, what is next, what do you want to do etc? But I think of it like a bump in the road of this journey. You are a fighter and you know we are all here for you too. I am glad your surgeons have a great game plan and are on top of things and you will get it taken care of soon. I am sure the day cant come fast enough. I am glad your dd is a great help to you too. Hang in there sista because you know theres a great big beautiful tommorrow shining at the end of every day (hmm, maybe I just spent too much time at the COP?) My prayers are with you.

Ann - I hope your dds testing goes well. I know on the thyroid thread the one expert girl says that regular drs. just test certain thyroid stuff but an actual endocronologist does different more defining tests etc. So I guess she should questions what test and results were actually done etc. Wishing her all the best.

Well dh has started moving boxes into the new office. He will still have the old office for a while too as he has to do work in that bldg. A positive sign, getting away from his psycho boss. I guess our fathers day cookout will be a bust. It is supppose to storm. Hmm, maybe we could do it at lunch instead of dinner.

I have to figure out when to get the next blood test. Somewhere between now and next sat. I think.

And ds22 says he is having second thoughts about that job...hmm, maybe mama does know best. I knew he would not like this job. Oh well. Its a little too late now. Everyone has grabbed all the jobs he refused to apply to etc. Sometimes life is hard. This is one of those times.

Good afternoon ladies

Its quiet here. Dh is napping but I wil wake him up to go shoping soon. Ds22 is at his girl/friends sisters hs grad party and ds18 and 20 are at a boy from churchs comm. college grad party. I told ds18 to ask him about it as that is where ds is heading

I looked in the classroom I will be having. Its huge and big. Wowsa. Ds18 was making 2 wagon wheels last night. He is so artistic. I tell him my ideas and voila!! We use the teaching material website as a guide.

Some lady at church is now having the wound vac machine like they wanted to put on me last year. Wow. I feel sorry for her. 2 weeks of this. 1 in the hosp. and 1 in the rehab center. I dont know what happened. I think she was suppose to have a hysterectomy and they thought it might be cancer etc.

Dh is leaving to go to Penn tomm night. I think he will be back very late tues. Oh gee me and a huge bunch of testosterony young adult children. What fun.

Have been reading Elizabeths trip report, Fun but really busy. I would collapse I think if I tried to do all that.

Its so dreary here, just cloudy and no sun and maybe rain is coming. I dont know if dh has left yet. He lost his cell phone so I cant call him etc.

Ds20 has been a little landscaper today doing alot of yard work.

Ds22 is studying for the tests he has to take.

Ds18 is at the senior barbeque. Whatever that is. I dont think its school sponsored. He took in a bag of old uniform stuff today..ahh. nostalgia and saying good bye. He still has his stuff. This was the other ds incase he needed it.

I am still coughing on and off and my stomach hurts a little. Also my neck has been bothering me alot. Its probably the scar tissue. Oh the joys of cancer.

Nothing too much new. Talked to dh, he will be home later tonight. The other guy is suppose to drive since dh drove there. Its a company rental so its o.k.

Last night ds20 was giving me a throbbing headache. He disconnected something on the car so ds18 couldnt drive it. I told him to fix it immediately etc.

Oh the joys of boys. I will placate them with chicken enchiladas for dinner.

Ds22 is doing some testing for work. He was studying all day yest. He was also upset as he found out they will not be having a varsity team to coach this upcoming year as the head athletic director thinks there are not enough talented kids, so they will just have a jv team. Not what ds was looking for We will see what happens.

I think it might be ultimatum time.

I am enjoying having my DD21 home right now. It is good he has a full time job now. No jobs for him in New Orleans. We are fortunate to have such wonderful neighbors who have hired him to work at their big electrical company each summer. I am happy that it is working out.

Things are getting tight down here. At work today we found out that we were cut from the state budget. We will have to survive on about half of what we had.

Back to the drawing board. I am afraid things will be drastically afected throughout the state by the gulf. A lot of the taxes received by Louisiana comes from oil production. It is going to be rough. I guess we should be thankful the recession did not hit us hard earlier. The Katrina effected shielded us here for a good while. No more.

Thinking of everyone awaiting news or results. GAGWTA!
