Wonderful wonderful news, trublu!!

I am thrilled. Hearing this type of news is so very encouraging. I am sorry you all lived with such frightening concerns until yesterday.

Thanks for posting and sharing your good news.

So good to hear your trip was so fun, Barbara. What a wonderful long trip and visit with family. Is it the RFTC that your daughter in law is running in?

Oh my, to get to meet you, pure joy!

Post more details on your trip so I can live vicariously!

Ok I see on the mousesavers newletter that there is a half marathon I think at Disney on October1-2.

I wonder if this is the one Barbara was referring to?

:) Good afternoon ladies

Well its warm here today, yeah!! Rain and sleet tomm.

Tracey - what wonderful news about your mom.:) I am sure you are excited to hear this news but sure you are drained by the whole process. Sometimes its such a roller coaster to hear things. I just pray alot when that happens.

Barbara - so glad you had a great trip, although sorry you froze!! That must have been so nice to meet up with Melissa.

Laurie - Sounds like you are healing nicely!!

Fl Lisa - so our folks have come to snowbird with you:). I had them on the plane and in the physical therapy office with me before. Your trip sounds great and I hope you enjoy every minute of it.

We went to ds game last night. They lost but it was fun. The refs were terrible with calling stuff. Even the other coach got mad sometimes. But everything was always in the other teams favor. My ds can write a form and complain about them etc. and he is. I met 2 of his girl "friends". I accidently talked to one of the computer once when the instant message was on. She was nicer in person. Her name is Danielle. I guess she could see how sick I was in person now. I couldnt talk that well and was in alot of pain from my stomach. I cant remember the other girls name but she seemed nice too, hmm, maybe there is some hope. I didnt even tell ds I talked to them or I suppose he would have a fit. Ds school did a dress down day for haiti yest. Half will go to a missionary couple rlready there that the c hurch there supports and the other part is going to World Vision. The girl who he took to the prom last years dad works for them. My next door neighbor is selling his house. We have barebly spoken to him all the years he has lived her. He has 2 dogs and the inground pool. I just hope we get some good neighbors. and I am interested in what he sells his house for because that price is what you can use if you want to appeal your taxes etc. Hopefully I can get some shooping in this week end but dh has guys coming in from California, New Zealand and Germany. We will see.The new raises were handed out yest. and of course dh boss does not even give him the paper. Oh well. We will see what happens. Dh really does not even care as he is leaving that dept. Just shows how cruel etc. his boss is.

GTAGWTA. Have a great week end.

MaryAnn, I am glad you enjoyed the games in spite of the discomfort you were in. I am sure your son appreciated your presence.

Your husband's boss sounds like a real jerk. Is his attitude because your husband is leaving the department? Your husband should be better off.

We have to go dress hunting for DD14's dance next weekend. She is also going to a Mardi Gras ball the next weekend and thinks she might wear the same dress.

I need to work some today. Might as well since it is a dreary rainy day. Like you, MaryAnn, I am glad at least it is warmer.

DH has a bad cold. I am trying to stay away from him. I wish he wouldn't snatch my pillows to lay on. He is washing our sheets so that should help with the germs a bit. I can't obsess. What happens, happens.

Fl Lisa, I am glad you have a trip in the wings. February sounds much sooner than my May trip.

Ann - not sure why, but Avery's new CB update made me cry. That kid is AWESOME! :lovestruc

It was very touching. Praying his counts climb back up. At least they know the infection is coming from the port.

It was very touching. Praying his counts climb back up. At least they know the infection is coming from the port.

I guess now the verdict is that it's pneumonia and not the port. :confused3 Counts are up a little bit this morning, not near normal yet but going in the right direction! We're expecting a good snowstorm tonight into tomorrow so the parents will do the switch-off at the hospital before that.

I thought of you this morning Laurie. Was at the LLBean outlet this morning trying to use up a gift card for $12.95 from a pair of mismatched gloves that Santa brought me. They didn't have any of the gloves so I browsed around and found one of those "sun screen" shirts for $19.95, so only $7 out of my pocket! It's a really pretty seafoam green color, long sleeved with the tabs to hold them rolled up if desired, the front velcro pockets, etc.
Perfect for my Feb trip....as well as come summer when I resume my new fly-fishing hobby!!

Thinking of you and your mom Tracey

My appt with the urologist is not until March 17 but I am on a cancellation list. Apparently since she is the only female uro in the area and very into women's issues she is in high demand. Based on my PSPs office I am not considered priority. I'm OK with this since my symptoms have pretty much disappeared, so am not going to concern myself until/unless they return. Very weird. :confused3

Barbara, so glad to hear about your trip (other than the cold) and thrilled that you got to meet Melissa!!:cloud9:

LMP, keep hanging in there....and the rest of you in treatment as well!!
:grouphug:

GAGWTA!!

I just love my columbia fishing shirts, in fact I have my pink one on right now. It is not overly cold today.

I just added 3 nights to our trip in May at the Beach Club in a 2 bedroom through CRO. We only had enough points this year for 4 nights in the Baordwalk view 2 bedroom. Got an ok deal with the passholder rate, it is supposedly 45% off. Not bad for a 3 night over the weekend deal.

This is a backup though, I still am going to try for a Wyndham bonnet creeK 3 bedroom, but I would get a better price if I wait until March and there is availability. Less than half the price for 5 nights instead of 3. You really pay a premium for onsite.

DD14 would love stormalong bay.

At first they wanted $800 plus for the weekend nights, that was a few days ago. Not sure why the price dropped but it seemed a good deal.

But heck we could get a 2 bed room at the Waldorf or two single rooms for about the same price. I am just not sure if our motley crew is Waldorf material.

Hi everyone:

Ann - so glad that Avery is doing better and temp is normal - the new antibiotics really work well.

I'm getting back into the routine of being home again. I have so many pleasant memories - one night we had a pj girls party and had lots of laughs - our 9 month old granddaughter added to the enjoyment of all being together - she was always smiling and loved Stitch! Our oldest granddaughter tried out for American Idol and did not make it but was pleased with the feedback she received. She also did Kareoke every night on the cruise and that was really fun.

Our DD-in law will be running the 1/2 marathon in October, Laurie - our plans are to leave Oct. 1 and stay until Oct. 10th. We have our reservations for the flight down but not back as we are waiting to see if the prices on jet blue will drop a bit. I am going to try to rent points this time so will see how that works out. I know it's many months away but I'm already excited about the trip.

Have a good week ladies. Hugs, Barbara

Good evening ladies

Ann - continued prayers for Avery

Barbara -your next trip sounds great too and that is so cute about your dgd and Stitch. Our ds18 likes him and has a few things in the room with him.

Laurie - when is your trip in May?

Well dh and I went out to dinner sat. night. We see 2 guys he used to work with in Texas, they work here now in NY with dh and one is working on dh work already in the new dept. He told dh they read my story and he gave blood, how sweet. They are both divorced and had new wives/girlfriends. The one was sweet and said she would pray for me and hoped I have a good year. Not to mention we all had to be subjected to a very drunk lady and her dinner party celebrating her birthday. Lets just say threats of calling 911 and guns were made. It was not enjoyble at all.

I looked at our photopass pictures and they are HORRIBLE!! OMG!! I so wanted to surpise dh with a photo book of us for his birthday. Ds and I were laughing at how bad the pictures were. I hope we can salvage enough just for the photobook. Honestly I have never had such bad pictures before. Glad we took some with our own terrible camera too that the photopass photographers took. They even had trouble with our camera.

Dh is having a business dinner. At least we got the grocery shoppng done and then ds18 came with us and helped me spend the $250 gift card I won. from the online sweepstakes. Ds21 is in ny city for his friends b day A group of guys went overnight (He works for Marriott, so gets a great deal etc.) and they are doing a scavenger hunt. Poor ds18 has been working alot. His boss headed to the casino overnight for her birthday. He did have a blow up with us again, lets just say he said stuff like I m so through with you both etc. This child sorely tests my patience and makes me pray harder for sure.

I will attempt to call the rad. onc. tomm. and see what happens.

GTAGWTA.

Hi ladies... some of you have asked about my mom's dear friend Miss Lee... in her Christmas letter (came late and with good news) she included a letter from the Pastor of her church.

She had her last chemo on 12/23 and she is getting "red blood booster shots" and then will see the doctor.

"Tabor Tabloid Volume 11 Issue 1 January 2010

From the Pastor:
As I write this in the midst of holiday preparations, I am thinking about bells. Bells are a symbol of the holidays probably because church bells ring out at Christmas to welcome new-born Savior into the world and to remind communities around the world of Christ's birth. But besides church bells, this time of year there are sleigh bells, and candy bells and "Silver Bells" and "Jingle Bells", and cookie bells. There are bells that ring on cell phones and the bell children everywhere love to hear--- that one that rang at the end of the last school day before Christmas vacation.

Bells ring to announce something--- to announce the coming of something, to announce the ending of something. Bells were used by pagans during the dark of winter to ward off evil spirits they believed were ready to harm them--- the sound of the bells would scare the spirits away and keep them safe. From this practice it was easy for Christians to incorporate the use of bells in their festivisities, particularaly at Christmas time, as the bells proclaim Christ's birth.

But I want to talk about one particular bell today--- and it is not particularly a Chrstmas bell. It is a bell that rings out to announce something--- to announce the ending of something and to announce the beginning of something. The special bell I'm talking about is the bell at the AMC Cancer Center. If you saw it, it would not be that impressive. Its just a bell--- and a bell is a bell--- what's the big deal?

The big deal is that there is only one occasion when a person is allowed to ring this particular bell. The person who gets to ring the bell is a cancer survivor. The occasion on whch a person is allowed to ring the bell is at the conclusion of their last cancer treatment. So part of what ringing the bell means is that the ringer doesn't have to show up at the cancer center on a regular basis anymore. But it is more than that. Ringing the bell is a celebration which symbolizes victory over an enemy and the beginning of countinuing life-- abundant life--- cancer-free life.

On Wednesday, December 23rd, 10 folks from her church family came to the AMC Cancer Center to celebreate with Lee as she rings the bell. We give thanks for the prognosis of a continued long ahd healthy life, as we give thanks for Lee and B. and their friendship to all of Mt. Tabor."

So that is the latest update at this time. Hoping she had good news at her follow up, but I haven't heard yet. Thanks ladies for thinking of her and keeping her in prayers.

Looks like from either 5/18 or 5/20 through 5/27.

Right now 5/20 through 5/27 but if there is availability in a 3 bedroom at Wyndham bonnet creet we will go two days earlier and give up the Beach Club. I am even toying with dumbing down and going with coronada springs as I am curious about that place, but I guess I would need to book 3 rooms. ARRGGHH!

Everything is subject to change.;) I like having the ability to cancel, which is near impossible with renting more DVC points.

Nice deal with the AP and getting 45% off of theDVC villa, although 2 bedrooms are mostly just OKW and Saratoga. I got lucky getting the Beach Club so we might just stay with that after all.

You gonna be in the neighborhood around then, Sha? What about mom? Thanks for posting that lovely letter from Miss Lee's pastor. Truly inspirational!

Good luck with the call to your doc tomorrow, MaryAnn.

I went for a followup to the surgeon today. Still healing but he explained that indeed he was able to take care of the abscess and the fistula with one surgery since the fistula was just below the skin surface and not much muscle was involved. I am so thrilled with this doctor. I need a retake on the colonoscopy at some point in the next 18 months, he is getting all my future colon business.

I do sort of want to rule out that there is some underlying reason this all developed, he told me today if I was concerned, a retake is the only way to clear up any doubt.

I think I really dodged a bullet here ladies, avoiding a second surgery. I am doing more each day. I get tired but I surprise myself how much I can do when I am determined. I am still spending a lot of time soaking in the tub though.

My sister found out today she has diabetes. I am distraught for her. Hopefully being motivated with the diet she will lose weight which will help control the diabetes (it is borderline right now) and high blood pressure.

Her sweet husband is going on the diabetes exchange diet with her since he wants to encourage her and be healthier himself. What a peach!

Thinking of Avery and his family.

im there the weekend before actually. Havent booked yet though. Am sharing my room with a couple of friends I think.

Sha, where you staying? Bay Lake?

not sure yet... either there or Wilderness Lodge I hope. Have to call tomorrow to cancel out this weekend. With the accident I cant afford to go even though I have dvc, sunpass and AP.. go figure.

Good afternoon ladies:lovestruc

Sha - the bell story about Miss Lee was beautiful and

Linda - o.k. I am jealous. I didnt get to ring a bell. I think being bombed with a giant amount of radiation should qualify too:),

Laurie - that is the time frame of ds18s class trip and when dh and I usually go too but I will have to see if the nuclear test will be then etc.

Nothing too much new. Dh boss cursed him out yest. Dh is surmising that now dh might make more than his boss. Why should he care, he is leaving the dept soon and he has been there much more than him etc. Dh has another business dinner with those people tonight. Ds22 liked the city. His friend got the Marriott in NYC for $50 a room and got 2 rooms. Wow, its probably like about $350 a night etc. Pays to work for a good chain etc. Hmm, wish there was a Marriott right in Disney!! Ds22 also did his lst day of the internship today and liked it. DS19 bought emilys dog over last night. That dog is so hyper. She jumped on my lap and knocked over all the bills and cards I was writing out. I told ds to tell them to take her to puppy school like Cheryl did with Charley. She just had her shots too and then ds18 turns on the vacuum and the dog freaked out again so ds took her home.

GTAGWTA. Thinking of you all.

Sha, where you staying? Bay Lake?

I have a 1 bedroom currently at the VWL with a waitlist for BLT. I know its a lot of points but if my friends can come and share time, then that is worth it. I may have to bump up to a 2 bedroom if everyone says they are coming!

have the Grand 1 Yacht again for a couple hours too. They can pick us up at either resort.

I need to do something to beat this funk I am in... not much fun.

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. I'm finally starting to feel human again after catching a cold over a week ago. It's annoying how much longer it takes to get over sickness than when I'm healthy.

LMP - I understand your frustration with Photopass. It used to be that Disney would give the photographers some training when they used film cameras. Now, they hand any CM a camera and send them out to take pictures. I'm a dinosaur - I still use my Canon AE1 film camera. The pictures are still better than any digital I've used.

Sha - I loved the letter you printed about the "bell". They don't have one where I'm being treated, but I'm sure I can come up with some way to celebrate. . .

Snappy - It's always so much fun trying to plan WDW trips around the best deal you can make. I do hope you get to try Beach Club - Stormalong Bay can't be beat. I know most people rave about Coronado Springs, but we are not fans. We have given the place three tries and won't go back there. Too spread out, rooms weren't in great shape, poor service by CMs and we don't like the surcharge at the food court.
