Right back at ya!. Sorry not to reply but I am so totally on the fence about my next WDW trip. If the timing and the location of the RFTC in Orlando had not changed so drastically it would be a no brainer. But no way can I go later in October since our fiscal year end is August and MAYBE by late October I will be ready to face the annual audit.
My other issue is wanting to fit in a few days for Food and wine which has a soft opening on Sept 26 according to CRO. Last week I thought I might be able to talk my DH into a return engagement for Food & Wine (we went last year while also fitting in the RFTC meet with Sha and her lovely mom and Ann and others, and also belatedly celebrating our 30th anniversary).
He sounded positive last week, now not so much. Something for big $$ is constantly looming around here. Thankfully, DD19's college scholarships survived basically in tact, but of course tuition increased. DS20 (21 next week) is looking for an apartment rather than a dorm which in New Orleans, especially around the location of his college is dicey at best (the area was underwater by at least 10 feet courtesy of Katrina).
I also see some good deals in your time frame for AP rates. So I am just not sure. September is also a bit scary for us since it is high season for hurricanes both in Louisiana and Florida. If we don't get hit here (like we did with Gustav in 2008), our friends and family in New Orleans have an open invitation to evacuate to our house.
I have done September though twice, late September 2002 when our departure was delayed since the airport in New Orleans was shut down between hurricanes, and early September 2007 for the Orlando RFTC with my mom.
I can't seem to make up my mind. I do however have a reservation at AKV for 2 nights and Bay Lake Towers for 3 nights starting September 23. No airfare yet, I chickened out.
I agree that traveling with a compromised immune system is tricky. September also tends to be very hot humid and comfortable (just like home sweet home).
Not sure if honugirl would be very comfortable.
Merry, what a near miss for your daughter. Something like that can be a wakeup call, n'est pas? Makes me want to restrain myself from fussing over the messing my family members do.
Congrats on the 25th anniversary!! The Vegas trip sounds wonderful!. I hear there is lots to do besides casinos. Have you seen the Cirque du Soleil show there?
Honugirl, what horrible attitudes you were subjected to. I understand what you mean about self-referral. Can you try and see your Gyn doc and get his opinion and referral? That is the route I went, but my time line was screening mammorgram ordered and results sent back to gyn doc, gyn doc calls and has me schedule the diagnostic mammogram, the results of said diagnostic mammogram sent back to gyn doc, gyn doc calls me and refers me to a particular breast surgeon who I went to see with all the films (along with films from a number of prior years). With an older person like me, there is so many years of mammograms that there is a history they can clearly see the changes and realize a biopsy is in order.
With a younger person things are not so clear cut. However, there is no excuse for the shabby way you were treated. I would pursue this further with a second opinion
as Candy and LMP both said above, perhaps if you see your gyn first he/she could guide you?
The last thing you want is to let anyone make you doubt yourself and your sense that you need to check this out. You know your own body more than anyone.
LMP, sorry about your lingering pain. I am glad your DH is such a gem.
No bingo stories this week. We had a session Sunday and the next one is Saturday. Our first check from the video machine owner and operator was a whopping $42.67, of which we had to pay 45% in rent to the hall owner. So we netted $22 before we paid our bingo workers and purchased our bingo paper. Not exactly a lucrative endeavor!!
Hopefully today's check will be better. I am working from home trying to do budgets for our next fiscal year with less in funding sources.
Hence, here I am on the computer talking to you guys. Somehow this is more fun than crunching numbers? Who woulda thunk it????????
Also, waiting for my new mattress set to be delivered. I think we spent our travel funds for the next couple of WDW trips on hopefully getting better sleep?
GAGWTA!!!!
