So who here is getting a regular flu shot and maybe the other one too??? I have never gotten a regular one but I am thinking of it. Here is a question for Sha or Linda - would my pcp give me a regular flu shot and a B12 shot at the same time? I am trying to avoid paying 2 seperate copays and just have one visit with the pre op, flu shot and B12 shot all at once, especially since I am not so fond of my pcp. Do you think the dr. would even do all this stuff at once?

That really is a question for the MD office, but don't know why you can't do both. Be one shot in one arm and then the other arm gets the other shot. It all depends on if there is an interaction. Call and ask the nurse to call you back and ask her and then it can be on the schedule of your appt.

I am debating about the flu shot. I was going to get it and now I don't know. Im not a fan of shots for me... and yet............. I don't know.

Sorry, I am not abandoning you guys, just a crazy busy weekend and week so far.

DD19 came home, actually DH went to pick her up in New Orleans because she ripped apart one of her tires. Her boy friend came along so I tried to whip the house into sem-shape, laid in provisions, etc.

Too much with soccer and everything else going on. DD19 also had a consult visit with an oral surgeon to schedule the wisdom teeth romoval thing right after finals.

They seemed to enjoy their trip and she even joined me at mass with DD13.

That was nice.

I am doing my homework for the Come Lord Jesus session with the 8th graders. We only meet for an hour once a week, not a big thing right? Well, I am feeling so not up to the task, although I did this when DD19 was in 8th grade. I think I am older and just more fractured or something. We will find out tomorrow who our co-leaders are and hopefully get the names of the kids in our group.

I prayed about this, I hope I can pull it off.

I cancelled the plane flights today. I was kind of holding on to them until the last minute (we were supposed to leave Thursday) as I knew I could get a room somewhere (I cancelled the Dolphin last week).

So I am feeling a little blue, but I started having nightmares about not really being up to going so I knew it had to be done.

None of this holds a candle to the things some of you are enduring but I needed to unload.


LMP, I am glad you have a date, or dates in this canse, in the event your DH's trip falls through. Please don't overdo as they are telling you, lifting stuff definitely causes hernias. It is hard to feel helpless, I feel your pain there but you have a new normal.

Hang in there sweetie. I think you are on the right track. I am glad you have your December trip to look forward to.

Glad you got the good PT finally. Does Mr. Coffee not have any clue or what?

So much to say....where do I start???? My boss called me on vacation to tell me that the new company is definitely in and we ALL have to interview for our jobs and fill out applications. The insurance (which we all here knows is crazy to deal with) is terrible and I don't know if they will cover the drug I use for chemo thereapy. My doctor's already have to jump through hoops to get it!!!! I got back to work the day of the G20 summit starts and security at the hospital is on an all time high!!!! I can't find my ID and I can't get into work unless I do. I have a habit of putting it in my desk before I leave and I have a feeling that is where it is at. I interviewed for a job before I left for vacation and it went well. But you never know. Too many decisions. I have to pray about it. HELP!!!

GAGWTA all!

I got rid of one infection and got another one. Ugh. I think I'd rather have the first one back... Much less painful. So I haven't been to karate in a week and a half. I may try to go back on Thursday.

Went back to murderball on Monday. That totally rocked! Busted up my wrist though, so that's keeping me away from karate too... I need to pad up my chair 'cause I got some good bruises. So that's this week's project. I bought pink and purple duct tape to put it on, so my chair will be pretty now! Just so everyone knows, no, I'm not in a chair full time. One of my best friends is a quad. They needed extra players so I started playing with them and now I'm addicted. We do demos for the physical therapy programs at the colleges here and we play for fun once a week.

Still waiting to hear from the endo regarding my next surgery and med adjustment.

I ordered new referee gear, that should be here Friday, just in time for me to maybe do some games this weekend. So that would be nice to be back on the ice. It'll be interesting to see what my meds do. I'll have to do some adjusting.

So, I'm a little frustrated right now. I'm busy assigning refs for games for the next couple of weeks and it's nuts! I had a kid cancel out on a game tonight, 3 hours before the game, so I have to discipline him now... No games for at least the next 2 weeks (this week doesn't count since he's playing elsewhere...) and almost all my other guys are busy or out of town, so it's going to be interesting.

LMP - write a letter to the place you went for Therapy... say how good it was (or wasnt) and make a gentle suggestion of mouth hygiene when drinking coffee etc. It can be an annon. letter too if you want. You may not be the only one who notices it, but no one says anything.


Mom heard me in the kitchen and came out. She had a massage yesterday. She sees the same therapist I do. Sally does lymphedema therapy on her. Anyways, she found a small place on mom, and mom had me feel it. It is a small hard seed like... couple mm. I told her to call her doctor this morning to get her mam/ultrasound etc and insist on it because of her Hx. You are the first to know this. Can't worry about it until we know what it is... right??? Just some prayers. Her generator for her right hand is above her breast... so that will have to be moved if she does have something and wants another mastectomy. Just need to get my thoughts out... and go from there.

LMP... laparoscopic pain is generally (though not always) from the air they put into enlarge the area... it goes up to the shoulders etc.. MUST WALK a lot to help that per friends who have had procedures that way.

Sha, my chair is a Quickie All Court Titanium chair. It's really light and really fast! I'm like a bull when I come charging through in that. I probably should repaint the fender and stuff... it's pretty beat up right now... They don't call it murderball for nothing!

Thanks Candy! I love playing. It keeps my friend and I connected when we're both going through so much. We used to play hockey together, so it was really nice to be able to keep playing sports with him. It helps because if we're on the same team (we mix up the teams depending on who's there so we can balance them out) we know where each other is going to be. It's really cool. My back is soooo sore today!!! Pushing a chair for 2 hours is hard work! But a great workout!

Jackskellington'sgirl, thanks! I hope this infection clears up... Ugh. Not fun. The wrist is better today thought. I braced it all day yesterday and that seems to have helped.

mom goes for mammogram and ultrasound tomorrow... at 2pm. I am suppose to be gone to WDW by then, but if she wants me to stay I will and go afterwards. She has told me 2 times no already about going with her. She didnt want me to go with her last time either.

Candy - Welcome home!! I will try to read your trip report tomm. I hope you write about food in there!! I hope you get the job you want. Will say a prayer for you and that your chemo stuff gets straightened out too.

Lisa - feel better and you are so amazing with all your sports. My ds only do the lifeguarding,basketball and bowling and fishing. Oh and sometimes baseball, not all of them with all of the same ones either. That is so nice how you bond with your friend through sports.

Elizabeth - Nice of you to drop in. Are you going to the fair?? Of course I was watching the Cowboys game!!

Sha - if I make it there in Dec. would be nice to meet you and your mom too. I pray all her testing would go well tomm. So will I have just regular pain or is this gas pain from the gas?? In my shoulders, great just what I need after spending 2 months in PT for the frozen shoulder.

Well we have some great news today sistas. DS17 passed his drivers test!! And ds21 is supposedly going to be the Varsity boys basketball coach, horray!! Proud mom here tonight. And on the stomach front...its bothering me. Honestly I dont know how I am going to last till 11/11.

Sha, what a wonderful daughter you are!. I know it will be easier for your mom with you to lean on. I sure hope this is nothing, but thank God the lymphema massage lady found it. Small is good, if it even it anything to worry about.

I regret too not being able to meet up with you at WDW. This is the first time a trip fell completely through for me. I apologize for bailing on you sista, we will meet up again in the future. I am waiting to reschedule. I'll post when I can pin DH down. Cooler weather would probably be better anyway.

I found out that my Come Lord Jesus co-leader is a mom I worked with a number of years with the Christmas crafts events at church. (She is crafty, I am or was just a volunteer nut.) I think she will be a good fit with me and lives close so I am thrilled. Now to see which 8th graders we get in our group. I felt better after yesterday's training meeting. The structure of the meeting (it fluctuates depending on the Gospel) was fleshed out a bit more. Also, DD13 and I went to 6 am mass again, there were actually 8 8th grade girls (they filled up a whole row!) I am helping out with transportation to the beignet cafe afterwards and then back to one of their group that lives right behind the school. I think it is great that these girls are getting up early for that mass and it has a nice fit with their Come Lord Jesus starting October.

Can't wait to read your trip report, Candy. Honugirl you are one spunky sista. You amaze me with what you attempt even when feeling lousy, like LMP.

I am debating the flu shot too. I am not sure all the hand washing and sneezing into your shirt sleeve is fool-proof. When I am sick, I stay home, some can't or won't. That is the real problem.

Hey, I stay home somtimes just because. I am a lazy slob.

On the work side, it actually is better I am not on a trip. Too much accounting fun that I might miss out on.

I think the bingo thing might be falling apart. The hall owner has not been paying the bills for security and cleaning service. There was a major confrontation with the video bingo workers that escalated to the dangerous level. Bingo Peyton Place. I had an idea this was lunacy. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Me, I just report the results and try to keep my comments to myself.

It is hard to bite my tongue sometimes. I just think our time would be better spent looking for grants to fund our core mission rather than support the gambling world.

Just popping in to share some happy news.
My boss gave birth to a healthy baby girl today! I am so very excited to have a new little charge. Grandma just phoned to say everyone is doing well. Princess is napping now, but later this afternoon we will go and meet her new sister. I can't wait!!

I remember after we bought ds2 home, ds1 said o.k. you can take him back now! (to the hospital. I think he went ballistic when he realized he was there to stay! He adjusted after a while. I hope your two little girls will get along fine.

Well ds2 has borrowed my van. He is in the midst of getting hs tire fixed or replaced and has to get his cell phone fixed too. Not to mention he needs to get his car inspected so he might have to borrow my van again for that and he needs to get that ticket he got straightened out. They said he couldnt do it by mail after we sent it in etc.

Well I just got in the mail the info for ds17 senior trip. Of course they are going to Disney. They do a mission first, then the trip. They are going to the Orlando Rescue Mission to serve a meal. Ds 2 was suppose to do that but the mission was getting renovated or something and all the plans got messed up. Ds1 actually went to Give Kids the World and did a puppet show. They will stay in either Port Orleans or Carribean Beach, that is where ds19 was. We also have to pay the cost and airfaire for 6-98 chaperones. so the fundraising will start soon and we have to make monthly payments. lst month $200 and the rest of the time about $100 a month. The one teacher was already the Disney Teacher of the Year twice. She loves Disney and is a great english and theater teacher. We always run into the ds there as that is when dh and I go for my b day and our anniv. Its usually the same week etc. Well we have till sat. to book the disney trip or sun?? I think we will either do a room only split or free dining?? I have to look at all the costs and see what the money off for the miles will be. Dh has to call aa directly for that.

Good news (Linda and Sha would understand this) The massive doses of steroids is working to keep Alyssas heart from rejecting and the colon nodules are only an infections, so that is great news, Praise God!!

Snappy- I am thinking about the flu shot too! They give it to EE at the hospital free. Until it runs out. First it goes to those who are have direct contact with the patients, then those who are at risk and then the rest.

Boy that BINGO sounds more than a notion. It is nice that you have a group of young ones going. That's encouraging!

News on the job front. The insurance is lousy and cost 3x as much as my current insurance. STINKS Good news is that I will still be able to use FMLA because they are using the years I work at the hospital and transfer over to the company. I have it in writing. I had to fill out an application today and I asked for more money to offset the insurance increase. Pray for me. We shall see. GAGTWA.

The rumors are true, that everything is being boxed up and shipped to Hong Kong. So sad. The CM even made comments about it... and about the show being closed for a year (with exception of private events).

Mom and I went to her appt. and yes, they felt something but wasnt showing up on the digital mammogram. The ultrasound showed density so we are scheduled for a biopsy on Tuesday. The Dr. felt it was close to the skin surface vs deep. The biopsy will be ultrasound guided.

Glad you were able to get to the world anyway. How is POFQ?

Seems strange that it will be closed to the public for a year. Are they betting the economy improve by then and thus attendance or is the year thing just a red herring?

Wish I was there with you. I am the one with the stiff upper lip. Actually, good that we are home, the A/C on the bedroom side of the house decided to fry itself. The A/C man we have used for years wants us to upgrade to a higher SEER whatever that is and replace the heater too so it is matched right. He says it will make a big difference in humidity too as the units we have are oversized for the square footage.

I am at the price tag, but apparently we would qualify for $1,500 tax credit for upgrading the efficiency stuff. I guess I will be getting my own little bailout!!

We will be investing our vacation $$ in cool dry air. Should I paint some ears onto the new compressor?

Gotta run that by the A/C man, I think I am driving him batty anyway.

Talked to my CLJ co-leader yesterday, we are going to be a dynamic duo. We have a plan.

Candy, I hope you get some relief on the med refill! Do you know yet if you position is secure?

Do they have a name for the new little girl, Elizabeth? How wonderful!!
