It's been a hard week. My friend (who used to DIS) lost triplets this week. I think she was almost 6 months along. Heartbreaking. Losing anyone is hard, but babies are the very worst, I think. Then DH's girlfriend lost her grandfather. It wasn't totally unexpected, but still hard for her. All of it has made me sort of blue.

Laurie, I don't think I ever told you. I used to teach elementary school. I've taught first grade, third grade and all levels of preschool. Preschool is my very favorite.

Melissa - I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friends precious babies. I can't imagine what she must be going through, having your heart rippped out three times at once. I will pray for Gods peace and comfort for her in the days ahead.

Did I mention I am soooo missing dh and ds17. When ds17 called me he said, I thought California would be warm and I am freezing!! They are in the Bay area. Ds 19 is at work. He lost his wallet yest. and a nice guy found it at the 7-11 and called us. He went to pick it up today and gave the guy $20, he had $80 in it. DS 21 didnt go to the concert tonight. The plans didnt work out. Also his Dorney Park plans are shaky now, poor ds!!

What not to do when you have too much time on your hands, google the stuff they want to do to you next. Its hard finding stuff but its about that foam in my neck etc. Gheesh, I am just so torn about this and dh is dead set against it. Well I have tlll Oct. to worry about it etc. I am having fun doing my own bandage changes, lol. I knew that dh was really good for something. It was pouring here so bad before and then we had a nice rainbow in the backyard. Please pray for Alyssa, she might have to go in the hosp. for a bowel procedure and her grandma has lung cancer and is not doing well at all.

Prayers for your friend, Melissa, and your DS's grandfather.

More for you LMP and dear Alyssa and her grandma. Don't be too lonely, when are your DG and son returning home?
Love the sound of that rainbow!

DH and I have a rare night to ourselves as DD19 is working in New Orleans, DS21 is out with a friend, and DD13 is at a dance.

Dh is still working 7 days a week. So we are going to enjoy our time together alone tonight.

He actually brought home wine and flowers tonight and he has a jazz CD playing. I almost fainted. Maybe he appreciated me doing the ride on lawnmower cutting this morging while he did the push mower for the edges and the ditches this morning BEFORE he went to work?

What a team!

Now I am trying to get him to help me plan our trip to WDW for Wine and Food Festival in September. I will believe it when I see it if we actually get to go.

Have a nice Saturday night everyone.
GAGWTA!!

Good afternoon ladies

Laura - Hope you got my card and had a little laugh, think Marley and me when I got the card etc. Hope you are getting stronger and healing each and every day.

Well ds17 called and said they went to Big Sur yest. and the aquarium. The plan for today is to see the Golden Gate Bridge, maybe take a cable car ride etc. Bad thing is the wildfires are by them they said, so they need to be careful. Tihis sweet lady at church made ds19 some post surgery brownies. She is so sweet. Tomm. I have to go for a blood test at 11, which I scheduled, that was the earliest they had with an appt., versus taking my chances of sitting around etc. Then at 2:15 is ds post op. Shold be interesting since he is not very compliant, nose bleeds, not rinsing as he should frequently and having the stitches cme out already and sneezing through his nose he said it was an accident but that is a big no no, All caps on the list NO sneezing out of the nose!! Will give you all a little update tomm. afternoon,.

GTAGWTA, Thinking of you all.

Ok, I must be dumb here, but how do you avoid sneezing through your nose?

GAGWTA!

Hi everyone! Getting caught up! Just came back from our convention and it was great!!! Lots of encouragement and Lots of talk about keeping families together during this time.

LMP- I have not been to that park before. I hope your hubby comes home soon to ya. Hope your son heals too! How can he keep from sneezing through the nose?

Honu baby- I am so sorry things are going so crooked for you. But like what was said to you before is that you are a fighter. We all can see that in you so do what you do best and FIGHT! You will get through this, over this and past this. You can do this. We are behind you sista!!

Snappy- Go'Head girl and enjoy your evening with your hubby!:cloud9:

MP- I am sorry to hear about your friends loss. If you talk to your friend tell her that she has not let anyone down. That was how I felt and it seemed no one understood that until I said it.

Alice- Your back!!!! I fell out of the suitcase!!!! :rotfl2: I have a month until my trip. Can't wait. I will pack you too if you want!

My son had to have all four of his wisdom teeth pulled out! We went to the consultation and I like the doctor. Very informative. I have to take another day off Next Monday to go with him and have it down.

Nota- It is good to hear from you and glad you are back to work. Take it easy.

Taz- glad to hear the good news! :yay::cheer2::dance3:

Laura- I hope that you are feeling better.

Yeah, Candy. Sorry about all those trinkets that must have poked you in the back.

I just got back from the ENT doctor's office. My next (dare I say "last"???) surgery is scheduled for September 1, the first day of school. (we do a day of meetings, followed by 3 days of Freshman Orientation.) So I should be back in time for the first day of classes, even if I am a bit hoarse after losing the right lobe of my thyroid.

On the way home I stopped by to let my principal know; I had already told the Assistant Principal in June that this was what was anticipated.

GAGWTA, Ladies!

We are home. Now I am counting the days until December!! I spoke to Sha, but it didn't work out for us to meet this time. I am hoping next summer we will have the chance to meet!

I'm home from the hospital as of Tues. I take back what I said before, dilaudid (not morphine) is NOT my friend. I got so sick from it, I needed to spend an extra day in the hospital. Now I'm fighting the gas from the surgery, it's horribly painful. But surgically everything is beautiful. Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers. These set backs have zapped my energy so I probably won't post much. Thinking of you all though...:grouphug:

Laura, continued good wishes for you as you heal!!

Hi and GAWTA ladies!!!

We're back from a wonderful week at the Polynesian. IT was all I had hoped for-- we got on all the favorite rides 5 and 6 times with no more than a 15 minute wait. The weather was hot but nothing unexpected, with minimal rain. The food was fabulous-- I think Yak and Yetti is my new favorite restaurant.

I got my new most favorite possession-- a stuffed Heffalump. That's what we've been calling my ever-changing breast all year, and I found a stuffed one. It's my new symbol of getting past all the trauma of the past year.

OK, gotta get to laundry and get Brian to the orthodontist. Hope all is well-- I'll try to go back and catch up later!

Welcome home, Alice! Glad you guys had a wonderful trip! :)

Melissa, how sad for your friend. :guilty:

Maryann and Honu, sending good thoughts for you girls as you progress to the next appointments!! :wizard:

Candy, I am glad you enjoyed the conference! I think it is tim for you to start packing for WDW now. :rolleyes1

Good evening ladies

Laurie - hope you enjoyed your adult time .

Laura - Hope you are healing and feeling better each day

Elizabeth - welcome back. I enjoyed your trip report.

Candy - Glad you had a good time at the conference, Wow I cant imagine 34 wisdom teeth at once. My cousins son just did that and she said he laid on the couch with percocet for like 2 days etc.

Alice - hope this is it for you too sista, once and for all.

Lisa - Hope you had a good week end and are feeling o.k. and keep fighting and in honor of you I will share my physical therapy insurance run around story etc.

First, I want dh home really bad, why you may ask. Well the air conditioning appears to be broke, and its hot in here lke 78, I told ds 19 to just leave it alone etc. Hmm, looks like it wll be a long hot night, oh did I mention he has asthma and is really cranky and add the surgical nose to that etc.

I went for the blood test today. I got the same girl again. Only a little mark this time. I wish I had the old guy though. He is so much better etc. Of course, loved the appt. I just breezed in and blew by like 12 people waiting, yeah for me!! Then I am trying to get the ins. straightened out for the physical therapy, all I know was I am glad I had ds going to the dr. today because I talked to one of his ins girls. He wants me to go to the hosp. outpatient, um they dont take my ins. so I can go to another hosp. outpatient that has an office in the same area as his office, o.k. I will work on that tomm. I was on hold with my ins co for at least half hour, even while ds was drivng us to the ent surgeon. His visit went so so. His nose is still swollen and..
Lisa - in honor of you I watched ds get scoped, he had only the scope up the nose, is this what you have? he sat in the chair, I got to see the pictures on the screen and he printed them out. I asked him why was there blood in his nose? He said his nose was so swollen he had to scrape it with the camera to get the camera in, o.k. Fascinating. I get the larngyeal scope.

So I guess I will be real hot tonight, too bad dh isint here, :rotfl2: oh the joy of no air conditioning, oh did I mention our phone is broken too, again.Tomm. I will continue the quest for physical therapy.

GTAGWTA, Blessings to you all always.

O.K. Guess who cant sleep? Its 81 in here, and I am remembering when we first moved into this house, there was no a/c. Gosh I forgot how bad that was.

Well I talked to dh, he has already said he is going to work tomm. O.K. I feel some huge shopping trips coming on tomm etc. etc. Ds19 thinks he knows what is wrong. Gosh, this kid is really technical. He takes after dh and usually fixes stuff if he can. Oh where is that misty fan I should have bought?:)

Something tells me its goin be a long hot night. I feel so bad for ds17. He said he just wanted to come home and sleep all day after the trip, oh well.

:rotfl2: I told my husband not to put the suitcases away because I am going to start packing for Disney. This was his response :sad2: Loved your trip report!!!! It really felt like we were with you. I am praying that you didn't bring any "friends" home!! When I read your report I squealed and sat in my chair with my legs up, jumping at imaginary things.

Yeah, Candy. Sorry about all those trinkets that must have poked you in the back.

Alice-LOL the trinkets!
I am glad that you don't have to miss much of school for your LAST surgery. I know you were worried about that! It's good you have supportive people that you work with!

LMP- Everything will work out with your insurance. I know that has to be tough. You are going through so much and yet you are a very strong and courageous woman. I am so glad that I "met" you. I am happy to have met every single one of you.

Honu- I hope you are doing well and keep your spirits up!
Nota- How are you doing?
Laura- Hope you are getting better each day!
Sha- Hi! Hope you enjoyed your evening.
GAGWTA

Well, I just learned that after working here for 10 years that I may not have a job after 10/1/09. :scared1: You know I am going crazy! Insurance, my treatments, kids insurance, Money?, car, home, everything that goes through your mind!!! I am glad I decided to get my son's teeth out now instead of waiting. Plenty of questions but no answers from anyone. :confused:I have scheduled a meeting with the VP to see if i can find out anything else. Pray for me and my family. I am at a loss.

Good hot afternoon ladies

Can you tell its really hot here and the a/c is still broken, sigh, sigh.

Sha and Linda - just wanted to say hi

Laura - pamper yourself and get well soon, or better yet, you must have everyone pamper you, right now you need to be queen of the castle!!

Candy - I am so sorry about the job situation. I hope they can match your skills to another position, healthcare is really in demand right now, so you definetely have alot of marketable skills in high demand.

Lisa - do you have a black and white ref shirt and whistle. I need to borrow it for my ds constant arguments about mindless stuff. :) I thought of you when I had my sono today and stared at the ceiling, yes a nice picture would be a good distraction.

Well ds took me for the ultrasound/sonogram today, she only did my neck, wish she would have done more of the jaw area, all I can say is Ouch when they go by the L side of the neck disssection next time I will know to take tylenol before etc. I did see on the screen that there was a big bright white thread, I dont know if this was the remnent of cancer tissue that is still there. I saw her put a nice blue box around the image etc. She said the dr. would look at it and I waited a few minutes and they told me it was o.k. to go, just the tech, never saw the dr. I am thinking this was just a radiologist etc. So If I dont hear from my endo in a week or so, I will give her a call etc.

Well dh is on the fence about the other job. Because he told his boss now that he does not really want to go to Russia if my cancer comes back etc. So they are suppose to hire 2 more guys to help him as they told hm he was irreplaceable and his boss said he would go to Russia, yeah right. Now comes the tug of war, promise anything, throw tons of money at him etc. Oh this should be fun and stressful. Ds 21 just got hired to lifeguard with ds17, he worked for them last year too, just a little while. I guess he figured he needs to make some quick money before school etc. Oh, and he is going to the Creed concert tomm. in Hartford conn., they are taking the ferry from ny to Bridgeport ct and driving. I dont know if this will be o.k. as he has work the next morning at 10:30. Young adults!!

GTAGWTA, Have a great day. Blessings to you all.

:butterfly~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~:butterfly

Mary Ann- I sent you a PM, maybe I sent it to the wrong address...but thank you again for the funny card and the sweet beautiful picture from Alyssa. You are a strong, sweet spirit sista.

It's been two weeks today since surgery and the home care nurse will come take out my staples today. I ordered a one-piece swimsuit which should be here by the weekend so I can get in my pool. I still have plans to take my girls to Night of Joy on Sept12 then at the end of Sept we are going back to Siesta Key Beach for hubby's 50th birthday, spending his actual birthday with Mickey in Epcot.

My pain is not bad, mostly dull and constant. I'm still so tired, I putz around the house, then rest. The mental fog is still lifting.

Thinking of all of you...:grouphug:

Good afternoon ladies

O.K. who is the :cool1: sista here right now? Answer - me of course because of the air conditioning got fixed!! Yippee Yahoo!!Dh had to go find a 24 hr place to sell him another part and him and ds took care of it last night. I think everyone is in a much better mood today.

Dh thinks he will not be able to go to the other dept. too much office politics about it etc sigh, sigh.

And on the physical therapy quest - another big fat zero and now I am back to Square One which is Nowhere and Nothing!! Gosh, all I want is some physical therapy. Everyone keeps saying its not in network, um well its is on the website for the ins. co etc. And the dr. says I have to go to a "good" place, o.k. whats a good place? I printed out 2 pages of places and might drive by a few of them to see cars there, ie patients etc. Alot of these places do sports stuff, I know the one my ds went to etc. But I need a good rehab one etc. Well tomm. will be more in the quest. I might have dh call because I dont know how much my voice can take etc.

So where is everyone??? And how is everyone doing??

GTAGWTA, Thinking of you all,

Ladies

Please pray for Alyssa. She is not doing well. Her bowel is not working and the dr. told her today to either stay in the hosp, get a NG Tube like I had and they would give her a gallon of golytely through it (Sista Laura - I Know YOU can relate to this stuff) or go home and drink the gallon. She is home. If nothing happens they are admitting her in about 3 days or less when a bed is available in NYC. This precious young lady has just been through so much, my heart aches for her. Thanks so much.

Sorry, busy getting two ready to go off to college again. In a word hectic, and work is cramping my style as well.

I am keeping Alyssa in my prayers, tonight.

Good to see you post, Laura. Your plans to take your daughters to Night of Joy are wonderful. it is great for you to have something to work towards. Keep up the healing work.

I am as grumpy as can be, must be that college is in the wings. I m not myself. I need to grow up.

Good afternoon ladies

Its hot as blazes here. I only went to pick up some meds and bandage supplies, next an ice pop for me. I didnt feel like looking for the pt place when its about 100 and I have no ac in the van. Ds 21 loved the Creed concert and they got lost in Hartford for 1 1/2 hrs. because his friend refused to ask for directions etc.

Laurie - glad you have the college stuff well underway. I cant imagine that. I am glad the 2 ds commute, but I think ds17 will go away next year.

Lisa - Long time, no post, how are you sista???

Laura - Thats great about the Night of Joy, My ds21 went last year with a youth group, well actually more like young adults he belongs to. They stayed at OKW. I dont know if he is going this year since we dont finance these trips for him.

Tomm. ds 21 is suppose to go with the witch girl to the wedding. She is picking him up. I said bad idea, because if you are having a bad time, you still cant leave etc. He said, yeah I never thought of that. We will see what happens. Maybe I will sit on the porch and greet her as I sure dont want her in the house, she seems too creepy to me these days.

My dh is telling one of the big bosses his desire to leave the dept. He wants to see if they really want him, or are they willing to let him go, that will determine his decision too. Oh office politics!!He interviewed a young boy yest. and told him about traveling to Siberia, he kind of laughed, Dh said, no I am very serious etc.

GTAGWTA, have a great week end everyone

I just learned that after working here for 10 years that I may not have a job after 10/1/09.

Oh no. Hope it isn't so.

Can you tell its really hot here and the a/c is still broken, sigh, sigh.

I joined you this week in the land of no AC. Nothing like packing an emotional child with PMS for college when it's 89 in the house with God only knows what humidity. It was almost the death of me. I see you got yours back on. I had to have a new unit, so over $2K later at least we're cool.

Please pray for Alyssa. She is not doing well.

Done. Keep us informed.

Got DD moved into the dorms yesterday. Some tears, but mostly we did okay. She likes her new roommate and the room looks cute. But she's really stressed. Her SPD is in high gear because she's stressed. And when her issues are out of control, she gets even more stressed. It's a downward spiral. But I'm thinking in a week or two she'll start to destress and feel more like herself. Please cross your fingers for Amy, okay?

Now that the kids are out of the house, we hope to get back to work on the house. First on our list is to try to get an attic door put in for the larger attic and finish painting. I also need to start boxing up stuff to put in the new attic space. Our current attic space is tiny, but it's all we can access. I think getting a storage space will change our lives. We don't have a basement so storage has always been an issue with us. So I'm going to purge a lot of stuff we don't need and sort, box and label attic safe stuff to store. And we can also have areas for each of the kids to store some of their stuff.

Best of all, staying busy will keep me from feeling sad that the kids are at school instead of here with me. ;)

Good evening ladies

Well I had dh drive me past the physical therapy places.

1. Was too far away

2. Is in a renovated house??? Has a sign outside that says, "Your recovery is our top priority and 2 guy pts name on it.

3. Is where I get my blood tests, Didnt know that as it was listed as an abbriviated name. Bad thing about this is it might be hard to compete for parking with everyone getting blood tests etc., being exposed to alot of sick people and germs on the elevator

4. Gym where my ds works. The pt is upstairs and not conected with them. Ds has gone there. Closest to home. Bad things are ds said you are in an open room wtih all the other patients at the same time. There is also a big glass window where you can be seen by the gym clientele too:scared1::scared1:. I dont know if I would feel like I was on display like an animal at the zoo.

So what do you think I should choose? I hope they take the ins. because they are all listed on the web site etc. I know the gym does for sure.

GTAGWTA.
