Potty issues? EWWWWWWWWW! I am glad I missed that, cause seriously, between the buffet freaks and the potty pool I might have had a nervous breakdown. My co-worker was getting on the monorail and actually saw a women and two small kids who were wearing masks AND surgical gloves. I mean really, if its that bad stay home. But then I got to thinking and maybe the lady and her kids in the mask and gloves were at the same buffet I was at! HA! Wheres my hand sanitizer???:thumbsup2

:daisy: Good morning ladies, Hope you all had a great week end

Linda - praying for your db

Melissa - You must be on :cloud9: about your dd. Congratulations!!!

Honugirl - Your horse and dogs are beautiful. Hope you get your labs back today.

Maureen - Hope you had a good trip. I read on another thread that they had to close stormalong bay down for a while due to some kids um, potty incidents.

We saw Angels and Demons sat. It was different for sure. If you see the lst 10 minutes that is a glimpse into stuff my dh does. Way beyond my comprehension for sure. Good news - Alyssa may be able to come home tomm. And now later today I am taking dh for his colonoscopy. He is having the same dr. I did and they are doing it in the office. I hope all goes well. Dh just thought it would be a good thing to do. Frid. I m taking ds19 to my ENT surgeon for his evaluation. Hopefully he can operate and get out his polyp and fix the deviated septum. Ds said he is getting tired of breathing through his mouth all the time, etc. Hmm, 2 doctors visits this week and not for me, yeah!!

I am waiting to get the call about my pre op testing which should be soon I guess as mon. it will be 2 weeks before the surgery etc.

GTAGWTA - Hope everyone is o.k. Thinking of you all.

Love the pictures. Sometime I need to post pictures of my beautiful pets. We've lost two members of our family in the past year or so, but I still have two precious bichons and a tuxedo kitty. They're my loves.

My ankles have been a little swollen. I've just been pushing myself too hard, I think. Maybe after this Saturday I can take some time to just keep my feet up and read a book. That sounds heavenly.

Our mosquitoes are horrible this year. I guess it's all the rain we've been having. They're huge. I can hardly stand to go out because I'm so allergic to their bites. I have a dozen or so right now and I'm going crazy.

GAGWTA! You all remain in my thoughts and prayers.

whenever you sit down, put those feet up sweetie! That reminds me I need to find a book or two to take with me.

Off has these little person fans that clip on, and have a repellent... maybe someone can find out if it works for you.

Ew, i HATE bugs hahaha.
I carry around one of those benedryl spot pen things.
they're amazing?! :]

I am allergic to the bugs too! My bites swell up to the size of quarters.

Jess, Sorry about your loss in job. I understand what you mean by missing days. I have no more sick time and I have to work over to make up time and work through treatments. When I feel my worst and someone comes in my office to complain...I wanna tell them to shut up! You don't even know the half of it....Keep your chin up and we'll keep praying. Where did you find that Benadryl pen? I would be interested in that!

MP- Prop up those feet girl! Whatever you are trying to do....remember it will be there tomorrow or the next day or the next. Don't over do it! I know that's hard to do.

You know I find all of you inspiring. You are going through so much and still have encouraging words to help others. GAGWTA!

jess  hope you feel better.

honu, love your pets. I hope you can ride your horse again soon. :guilty:

Merry, would love to see pics of your pets. Be careful about salt if your ankles are swollen, it could be you're eating something salty without realizing it.

Candy, enjoy your new grill. Having anything good tonight? :goodvibes (We're doing grilled marinated chix tenders on salad with garlic bread, yum.)

I hate mosquitos, too. I carry benadyl ointment around. Nothing better.

Maureen, glad you had a nice trip. I went down that slide, too. :rotfl: Yes, I saw some grossness at Cape May, too. From a grown woman, yet. Picked something up with bare hands from buffet, turned around like she was going to bring it somewhere, then put it back. WTH?? Yeh, I'll take a pass on that.

lmp

Everyone :grouphug:

Sunday I left all of my car windows down and the sunroof open for several hours during a major downpour. I don't know where my head was, I thought I'd closed them. I went out to go to work and nearly :faint: there were large puddles on all of my seats and everything inside was soaked including door compartments with inches of water.

The funny part (besides my butt being soaking wet) was, when I went through Dunkin Donuts drive thru to get my coffee, first, my window wouldn't go down. So I jiggled the switch and it finally did. But while I was at the window talking to the guy, it went up by itself :scared1: and I turned around and all the lights in my car were on. :scared1: :rotfl2: I was so upset I thought I'd really messed up my beloved car. Called DH on the phone and he (once he stopped howling lauging) said don't worry, it'll be fine once it dries out. And it is so far. What a pain.

Went out to dinner with DB Sat nite. He seems ok. Has an appt with pulmonologist in June. Will keep you updated. Thank you for thinking of and praying for him. He's my bachelor brother, which is why my mother worries so much about him.

My DS got hit in the ribs quite severely with a pitch last night. We were told you could hear the hit in the stands. It was freezing cold so I was watching from the car. I almost felt sick when I saw him double over and his coach run to him. I was cool, though, didn't run down. ;) When he got up, everyone clapped for him. DH went down and handled it. This morning he has a large bruise shaped like a baseball on the side of his ribs. I know it won't be the last time something like this happens, but the visceral reaction you get to your kid getting hurt always surprises me a bit.

Good morning sistas!

Laura - I am missing you. I hope you are o.k. and your boil issues have resolved.

Jessaboo - Sorry about your job. My cousin lives in Columbus. She rents out her old house in upper arlington and now bought some old condo in the city. I havent been there in years but I miss the fair and going to buckeye lake with my other cousin. He lives in Perry County. Hope you feel better soon and get good test results back and that you will find a job you love. How about places like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joanne Fabrics, etc. AC Moore, I dont know what craft type places they have there etc. Do you make your own beaded items?

Candy - So sorry you have to deal with all the stuff at work while having to also deal with the chemo too. Hang in there sista! If I get grumpy I tell my ds I am playing the cancer card!!

Its quiet here today. DH colonoscopy went well. No problems. He was so funny waking up from the anesthesia. Got the call. The pre op will be June 3. I sure hope they dont make me get a clearance from my pcp. I honestly dont like this guy too much anymore. I think he needs to retire etc. He is just not on top of anything. Then my endo called me and said the latest blood tests were great. One test was for the medication level which she wont change and the other test is for the cancer, Last test was like 1.4 or 1.7 and this time it was .3 which means the cancer is virtually undetectable right now.

Alice - Has your endo done any blood tests?

GTAGWTA, Have a great day everyone!

Jess... I am sorry I must have missed the post about your job. Am sorry to hear that! Will say a prayer for you.

Pea-n-Me... I have to admit, I would be LOL too if you called me about the windows and the lights. Has it dried out? Hope so... I just hope that you can combat the musty smell that may come next.

LMP... mom has been a bit amusing here and there coming out anesthesia

Glad you had a good trip Maureen (think I forgot to say that too)

I am a bit distracted lately... but in a good way. Not the guy though. He is a whole other issue that is on the back burner for me right now.

GAWTA girls!!!

Sorry, we have 8 days of teaching left, so school is hectic!! I'm not getting as much computer time as I would like!

LMP-- the endo didn't do any more blood tests, just the sono and the biopsy. I called and made an appointment with the surgeon for next week; he's on vacation this week. I saw the plastic surgeon last week; he said it's all up to the regular surgeon whether this is now one surgery or two. So I'm kind of on hold until June 4th. I strongly suspect that we're talking 2 surgeries.

Gotta run and fight with the computer; the margins on ONE side of ONE page of my final exam won't line up.:sad2:

Hi My Girls!

Laura - I am missing you too. I hope all is well with you and you haven't gotten frogs or locust ;).

Jess- LMP had some good suggestions. I know in OH you have Pat Catan's right? I know I hate going through the job search business. Hang in there and we are rooting for you.

PNM- Awww you poor thing! Nothings worse than a wet behind. :lmao: I hope it all drys out well!

Sha- Can we help with your distraction? I am glad it is a good one but if we can help....let us know.

Alice- I hope you get the 2 for 1 sucessful surgery. But if not I pray for a 2 for 2 successful surgeries. Any surgery is a pain. I always have nausea after any minor surgery.

Tomorrow is my last treatment for six months :dance3:. Unfortunately I have to go it alone. My Hubby can't take off anymore time, my sister is going out of town and my girlfriend it is too last minute for her to take off work. I have good nurses in my treatment center. They are very attentive. Then I will be back on the road to recovery. Everyone have a great weekend! Type at you soon.

:grouphug:~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~:grouphug:
I may be a little more absent here on the boards. I'm ok, it's just that I have a bunch of family stuff that is kind of overwhelming right now and that has to be my focus. I do have 2 appts. today, 1 with the endo. and the other with the dermatologist.
I think of you all daily...:grouphug:

GAGWTA everyone!

Thanks for the good words about my pets. :lovestruc I'm hoping to be back riding full time again soon.

Another hurdle to jump now. I got my IGF-1 back yesterday, which is a sort of unreliable measure of how much growth hormone you're making, it's really low. So now it looks like I have to schedule a GH stim test to see if I'm making enough and if I'm not, then I have to fight to get on that. Apparently a lot of insurance companies aren't covering it any more and it's like $800 a month (in addition to everything else I take, plus syringes, etc.). So now I have to find a place to get this done, either in Oregon close to where I am, Houston, or LA.

Still waiting on more test results to see if my surgery worked. I swear, waiting on those is cruel and unusual punishment...

Hi My Girls!

Sha- Can we help with your distraction? I am glad it is a good one but if we can help....let us know.

Im packing* to go on a trip to Virginia and to England. I leave Monday.. fly out from Dulles on Wednesday and return to Virginia on my birthday (16th). Spend a few days with family and then return home the following Monday.

*okay.. trying to pack... nothing is in my bags yet LOL

Yup, it sure is! But I guess we're going to do the test up here in Oregon. I don't have to pay OOP for it that way. I think insurance will cover it since it's like a $2000 test... Oh, sorry, I was wrong, it's only $1200, plus $500 for the blood work... :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

Happy birthday fellow Gemini! I'm 8 days ahead of you on the 8th. Have a great time on your trip.

I'm going to go mow the lawn. Yay for John Deere riding mowers! Do you think I can get lawn mowing approved as a form of mental therapy? :confused3 It's like relaxation and zen meditation all rolled into one for me...

Its amazing the cost of things. I still do not have insurance at work (because everyone else is covered through their spouses.. and there are 4 of us). I have some meds that I got yesterday, and after shopping around I spent $244.00 vs $300.00. No generics available for them yet.

Good afternoon ladies

Honugirl - Hope your test stuff gets straightened out, I hate dealing with the ins,. ***. and since alot of time my voice is not that great I let dh do it.Have a great time mowing. I love the smell of fresh cut grass!

Candy - Hooray for your last treatment, Now grill up something real good to celebrate!!

Sha - Have a great trip. Wow those meds are expesive! Do you qualify for any of the meds free from the c'/s themnselves?

Well ds drove me to his drs, appt. I dont like driving with any of my ds. The ENT said yup, he has an obstructed nasal passage(s), nasal polyps, a deviated septum and maybe sinus stuff too. He is ordering a cat scan for him. They had to take pictures of his nose/face to send to the ins. co. to say its for medical purposes and not cosmetic surgery and then the np tells me the dr. is going to vietnam for 3 weeks on vacation so I am thinking this surgery might not take place till sometime in august. Oh, nothing like waiting.

Dh told me he saw an old friend again from IL who was at work on a consultation. He told dh when he told his dw about me she was crying. We used to live in Texas together. A lady from our church husband died of cancer. The viewing is tonight. Although he never went to our church I told her I actually ran into him when I had one of my surgeon visits and then again at the PET scan. I just heard them call his name and knew his son looked just like him. The viewing is tonight. Dont know if I will go. Also dh tells me his co workers dd just got dx'ed with ovarian cancer. She is a dr. in canada, lst pregnancy after trying for years. They told her chemo or save the baby. She has chosen the baby for now and had laproscopic to take out the tumor but they couldnt do the lymph nodes and then if it couldnt be any more bad news my other friend e mailed me that her step mom is going back to Sloan Kettering in NYC to try a new trial on June 14th for a week that has never been done on humans before. They told her this is the last option they have for her right now. She started with kidney cancer. Just so sad. I hate cancer.

Well its finally going to get sunny around here this weekend so..
Alice - get out your sun glasses,

Hope you all have a great week end, GTAGWTA, Blessings to you all.

It is really amazing the cost of things... My zofran costs a bunch too, but what would I do without it?

Thanks! I had a great time mowing. So relaxing! Waiting for the nurse to call and schedule the test. GRRRRRRRR. I wish I could call her and do it myself. So annoying!!!!!!!!!!! They don't seem to understand that some of us really need these tests now, not 3 weeks from now. I mean, granted, not having enough GH isn't going to kill me outright, but it is affecting my body pretty badly. I can't even use my new Wii Active game because my body doesn't recover at all.

Wow, sounds like you've had quite an eventful time. Hope everything works out OK.

Got more tests back, looks like they really can't deny that I wasn't cured by the surgery. My numbers on a couple of tests were higher than ever. Sooooooo, looks like I get to keep testing and probably Wisconsin, here I come... Goodbye adrenals, hello finally having a life someday!

Hey ladies!!!

Wow, there has been beaucoup posting activity since I have been in the world.

Welcome to the new posters!

I love seeing new sistas here.

I can't possibly reply to everyone. Suffice it to say I have read everything. Laura, hope your family issues resolve. Linda, hope your son is ok. Sorry about your car getting an unintended interior bath. Alice, hang in there, look to the future. Maureen, sorry we did not connect.

We got back home around 9 pm. We should have left earlier in the am, but I always have trouble forcing myself to leave. We received an exceptionally nice Boardwalk unit this time. Like last year, we were in the curve where you can see the fireworks from both EPCOT and MK, but this time we got on the top floor so we had a humongous continous balcony.

I spent a lot of time up there as we were in the unit alot. I have never seen such rain. We were caught without our ponchos several times as it always looked so beautiful in the am. The good part of rain is 1) the temps drop big time and 2) people leave and mostly don't return. We had our fill of going on rides.

I have to say this may have been our best trip ever. Having all three kids together one more time was truly a gift. I guess all the stars in heaven were aligned. Everyone was in a good mood, we ate together and went on attractions together. We reminisced a lot. It was truly a celebration.

I am not sure that we will try to drive straight through again, especially the back to home circuit. My DH and I have finally realized that we are getting too old. I am brainstorming how to couple a shorter WDW stay with a few days at the beach to unwind afterward, The panhandle beaches are just over halfway on the ride home.

We'll see.

We liked Bonnet Creek alot. It is a very convenient area. There is a great activities area with pool tables, a ping pong table, board games, chess and checkers tables, a movie screening room, 4 computers with internet access, a small putt putt course, and of course the lazy river and pool area.

We the rain, we used the activities area a lot.

The unit was clean and comfy and the owner we booked through got us a great EPCOT fireworks and lake and pool view (the smaller pool).

What a deal for 5 nights in a 2 bedroom at $600.

A very short drive to EPCOT and Holloywood studios (we did not use their shuttle).

We all still prefer the Boardwalk though for the view, the nightly entertainment, the convenience of walking to EPCOT and the studios. Even though the room is older, it just feels more homey to me and I definitely like the master bedroom and bath and closet better. It is bigger than the Bonnet Creek one.

My DH really loves the valet parking at Boardwalk.

Maybe 10 days was too long, I am very tired. We took less stuff this time, so at least unpacking the car and washing clothes seems easier this trip. We left a lot of stuff in our Owner's locker.

Back to the real world now, I am being pulled there kicking and screaming.

Love seeing my dear Snappy again, her wounds from the altercation with our puppy Naj are healing. What a greeting we all received from Snappy, especially me!

Lots of "kisses," LOL.

Gosh I love this doggie.

GAGWTA!!

Laurie, glad you had a great time. I am really sorry we could not see each other this time, I was there for about 24 hours. I think next time we are going to make sure its at least 4 nights, one day is just a tease and not very relaxing! I hope we can see each other soon..or at least talk!

I have been really busy at work and with my Dad. He is having chemo "washes" of his bladder, although his cancer was not invasive it was aggressive. Scary.

GAGWTA!

Laurie, so glad you had a great time!! I've been reading reports of that rain!! :umbrella: Nice to know you made the best of it!!
