:goodvibes Laura!! Wowsa! Good for you!! :earseek: :dumbo: :stitch: :simba: :goofy:

Monica...remember ice ice ice....hope the time flies until a good report on Tuesday!! :grouphug: Oh and glad your found-again sweetie is being helpful!!

Oh and speaking of ice...my stepson (father of 3 under the age of 4 1/2 ;) ) had the "snip snip" procedure (as my DH calls it) yesterday. DH called him last night to check on him...I asked about what kind of drugs he got of course LOL. Couple of valium before of course and then some nice painkillers to bring home. I gave my standard endorsement of ice ice ice and DH shared with him that I had found a frozen bag of peas to be great after my surgeries and he might want to try that. He said he couldn't..."Dad...you KNOW I never liked peas!!" :rotfl2: DH told him any frozen veggie would work and my sweet DIL got him settled with a bag of frozen rasberries!!! :lmao:

Linda...I've heard about the store...and will check out that link for sure!!

GAGWTA!!

Laura, you are my hero!! I am so happy for you. A bit jealous too. but what an outstanding deal. I sure wish school did not start so dang early here. I also don't think we should plan anything during hurricane season. I have a feeling if even a tropical storm enters the gulf, New Orleans will be empty and my evacues will be here. I am thinking maybe either another Thanksgiving or Mardi Gras trip for us. The free dining though is sure tempting. Hey, if we go to WDW, it sure frees up more beds around this joint.

Ann, you had me LOL about the frozen peas story. The raspberries sound a lot "sweeter" though. My DH had the same little fun procedure after DD10 was born. My high risk OB doc pressed us to do something, no more rabbits dying around our house at my then advanced age. I wanted natural childbirth, so I could not see going under to have my tubes tied. I left some nice brochures on the coffee table about the snip snip procedure. DH agreed, everything was set, then a few days before it was scheduled, one of DH's good (?) friends told him a guy he worked with had it and said it was like getting kicked by a mule. He went through with it anyway but he sure did tense up. ARGGHHH!!!!

Oh Laura, you shouldn't post such inflammatory material here! HOW did you get such a good deal?? What magical powers do you possess? We're approaching the 1 year mark here.....since our last trip......... SIGH!

People here have just been so great! My PTA brought over 12 dinners from the "Take and Bake" place!

The office staff send me a $100 American Express Gift Card for our trip to Sloan Kettering!!

The whole school is sending meals every week starting when we get back from Sloan until the end of the school year.

A *stranger* I was kind to in the hospital waiting room just couldn't get me out of her mine and how sweet I was and tracked me down and has established a FUND for my medical bills at Bank of America and is putting fliers out at local churches and businesses!!!

My school's talent show was last night and ALL proceeds went toward my medical bills along with the proceeds from a bake sale there, too.

Needless to say I've been doing a lot of bawling this week over this incredible amount of generosity shown to my and my family. It's overwhelming and quite humbling. I'm in awe of all of it!

GAGWTA!

Yes Laura, do share! We have a Disney Visa. How do we get in on the deal? :listen: Thanks!! ~Monique

:wave2: GAGWTA :wave2:

Just wanted to stop in and say "Hello" and let everyone know I am thinking of them.

I haven't been able to sleep lately. I'm hoping daylight savings will help! After all, we are losing an hour. I'm driving my DH crazy tossing and turning.

Wanted to :furious: about insurance companies. Gotta love em! They didn't want to approve my wound vac. My DH was arguing with them half of the day on Fri. It finally got approved, we told them otherwise I would be admitted for a week. What is with these insurance cos. Don't they know I DO NOT need any more stress :stir:

The new hormone receptors came back for the latest tumor ER- PR- HER2-. So, no chemo or drugs!! I'm so done with that scene, I'm glad I don't have to do anything. The rad. onc. wanted to do rad. again (x3), but the plastic surg says no way. I'll never heal if it gets radiated. I couldn't believe they even considered radiating an open wound. I didn't want to do it anyway, now I have an excuse.

Have a great weekend

Kelly

Beth, what are you planning on doing in NYC when you're not at the doctors?

Fairly simple things....explore Times Square, ta :wizard: ke a ferry ride to see the skyline, Chinatown/Little Italy, maybe Central Park, maybe Empire State Building. Just really want to take it all in!

I'm really excited about it too! :Pinkbounc Sorry I wasn't more specific in the 1st post. People are going nuts over on the codes board! I haven't been going much of anywhere on the Disboards but here since I was sure that I wasn't going to Disney this year. ;) It's funny, I had been playing my Disney music big time the past 2 weeks...I really needed to be Disneyfied! pixiedust: What a blessing! :cloud9:

Beth- I hope you can take advantage of the package too! I was welling up reading your post. What a beautiful outpouring of love! The fund just blows me away sista!!! I'm so glad you are getting to see the BEST in people right now! I hope they don't keep you too busy at MSK so you can have some fun while you're in NYC! You're in my thoughts and prayers sista...

Kelly- I'm sorry your ins. co. is giving you the run around...I have a good ins. co, but it's the hospital double billing that drives me crazy! Thankfully hubby keeps thorough records and takes care of it for me. I'm glad you don't have to do any rads! I'm praying for your healing sista...:flower3:

Ann- :rotfl2: Thanks for the laugh!

Thanks for the link, Monique.
You're welcome! We should really thank the person who originally posted it on the freebies board tho. :thumbsup2

Thanks Laura! We were considering a cruise in September to celebrate the end of my cancer treatment, but now I think we may have to reconsider our plans! :teeth:

Hi Ladies! I posted this on another thread and Laura directed me here.

I know this is probably TMI, but I'd like to have some input here. I'm 22 and last year my doc found what she called a "rope" from the top of my right breast, under the armpit all the way down the side of the breast. She wanted me to come back 2 weeks later so she could see if there were any changes due to my cycle. Well, to be honest I never went back, checked it myself and it did indeed get larger and tender when the end of my cycle came. I figured that meant it was not cancer.

Fibrocystic Disease runs in my family and I've never heard of any of the women in my family having breast cancer. However, my DF's grandma caught me checking it last night and freaked out saying that I need to have a mammogram. It seems kind of early for someone in their early 20's. Is this something you would worry about?

After the responses I got, I'm getting worried.

If it was cancer wouldn't it have gotten bigger over the past year? Is it possible this could just be some thick tissue? What is the first thing they do if they do a bio and it comes back with the bad cells?

I'm just really figety now and I'm anxious to call the office and set up an appointment. Lord, now I'm wishing it was Monday! :badpc:

I am a breast Cancer Survivor and Just found this site. I really like it. Thanks
I feel like all Breast Cancer survivors are "Sister at Heart"

Minnie1156- :welcome: Yes we are sistas! I hope you come by often and hang with us!

sajetto- I wanted to say more to you, plus I wanted the other ladies here to meet you too. I don't want to freak you out, but all young women need to know that they are at risk for breast cancer. I had fibrous cystic breasts too, it can make it harder to tell the difference, though my tumor was a very hard pea-sized lump. But there are different types of breast tumors, and they can present in different ways. As I said in the other post, you really need to have a follow up, for peace of mind. :daisy:

Oh my goodness, I was reading the Codes board and someone posted that Disney always adds trip insurance to their packages, even if you don't ask for it, and I checked and indeed they did. Just dropped my price by another $120! :woohoo:

Thanks Laura! I'm just going to preoccupy myself by cleaning the house. That'll probably make the time until tomorrow go a little faster

BTW Disney is really pesky for adding insurance. Unless you specifically tell them not to they always do it. Have a great trip with that free dining! :thumbsup2

sajetto- Distractions are good!!! Disney is my fave for that! :tink:I just noticed you're going to be a Disney Bride! :bride: Congrats!
