Dis Board Sayings

As I read various threads I have notice how some sayings are used over and over. The only place in my life that I encouter these sayings are on the Dis.

My current favorite:

You have to prepare the child for the road and not the road for the child.

This one has come up a lot on recent threads.

So what is your favorite Dis Board saying?

When people say something and end it with, "to boot!" I've never heard that expression ever in day to day life, but it pops up quite frequently on the Dis.

ETA: It's not my favorite saying, just something I've noticed is written frequently.

Maybe it's regional. I grew up saying it in Michigan.

Those aren't my favorites, but I sure see them often! I don't think I have a favorite. No, wait - I do:

"Special Snowflake"

I hadn't heard that before the Dis and I absolutely love it! It perfectly decribes how way too many parents see their children these days: as precious little people who must be treated like the perfect little wonders they are by everyone or they'll melt. (Though given how many of them have meltdowns, maybe it is an accurate comparison after all!)
