Dis Bashing Site-Yikes~!!

I somehow stumbled upon stupidguesttricks.com, thinking that I would read some interesting stories from CM's. However, I found the complete opposite. It basically a guest bashing site, and I actually saw one of the posters quote something that I had said on the Dis boards, and everyone was basically saying, in not so many words, how much of an idiot I was. I couldn't believe it. Not only that, but I have to say that it's taken a little of the magic away for me. I don't want to ask an innocent question and end up on their boards being ridiculed. It's just crazy! Has anyone else seen these boards? I almost don't want to wear my LGMH this September because of the way these CM's bashed us Disers.

This particular site you mentioned is for CM's who want to blow off steam and there are some wild postings there. However, keep in mind this and any site including the DIS is on the wild west known as the 'internet.' You can expect anything you've posted on any site to appear elsewhere. My personal rule is if I think it's something I shouldn't be saying, I don't say it.

Even the happiest place on earth will have some negativity. You can never please everyone. For CM's, that is their job and I've never worked anywhere where there isn't at least one person complaining.

Personally, I wouldn't waste my time.

Oh, trust me, I don't take it personal. I actually think its funny that I was quoted on a board like that. I just didn't know a board like that existed. I understand letting off some steam, because I'm sure they deal some some really difficult people. Heck, there are difficult and entitled people on the Dis boards. I just don't want to wear my LGMH in the parks and have CM's thinking "Great! Here's another entitled Dis board member" because I 'm not.

I read stupidguesttricks all the time, just for those 'oh no they didn't' moments. Makes me wonder too sometimes. The CM's take a great deal of abuse at times and this is one place they can safely let off some aggravation.

I feel for the CM's, I can't imagine how crazy it is of a job for them and half of the stuff they see/hear at the park. I understand that the CM's want to blow off steam because of stuff happening at the parks. But to make fun of people on the Disboard, that's just silly to me. It makes no sense to go to another site to complain about something someone said on here. You don't want to know what the guests are doing or thinking, then don't come on here. I'm sure they have enough stuff going on throughout the day in the parks that can keep them blogging on that other site.

But you can turn that around. If you don't want to know what the CMs think of us, don't go over to their web site. Then you wouldn't know they were complaining about you.

I checked out a few of the threads and I didn't see them complaining about anything that I havent seen complained about over here. I personally thought it was quite funny. I didn't dig too deep though.

But honestly! This is what I was talking about in that thread over on the Theme Parks board! It looks like the CMs talk trash about the guests as much as employees in any other part of the service/hospitality industry. And why not? We're many of us bonkers, the ones who choose to visit Disney and more importantly, the ones who choose to stay there year-round.

I've looked at the web site...BUT bear in mind not all the posters are CMs if you look over to the left on the site same as here:

<-------see our user ID location etc? check out some of them a LOT are people that are NOT affiliated with Disney at all just "guests" and I have news for you a lot of times the nastier posts are people that are not listed as CMs (and some are cross posters from here....interesting ..no ?)

Just had a nosey on that site and some people are overly harsh. Most of them seem to be guests and not CMs though. I was a CM at one point and yes you do sometimes get a lot of stupid questions 'get Disney to stop the rain' and the stuff like that, but while a lot of stuff may seem stupid to Disney veterans it could just be a new person confused, there is a lot to take in at these parks.
