I spoke with DW and she said she would make some BBQ weenies. She can keep those in a crockpot and warm them again when we get there. And also some type of dessert. What about drinks? We can bring a Coke and Sprite. We need directions also. We will be coming 85-40 from Burlington.

I'll have to ask the Boss (DW) what items we3 will bring. I know she will bake a cake, but I'll see what "healthy" item she will make. We will be coming from the Rocky Mount area and will need directions after we get on the beltline, from 64.

Is there a stereo in the clubhouse. If not, I suggest someone bring a portable stereo, just in case we'd like to play our favorite Disney CD's.

There is a stereo in the clubhouse, but if we're outside on the porch a portable one would be a good thing to have. Does anyone have a good one? Mine is rather antiquated.

I plan to come alone and would like to bring a dessert, if that's OK. I have to prepare something for another event Saturday evening and I figure I'll just whip up a double batch of whatever. (I also could not open up the directions, but I know where Falls River is so I'm sure I can find the clubhouse.)

I'm sorry for the problems with the website. I don't know what the deal is there. I've decided to just post the directions here. It's not like it's directions to my house so I don't feel uncomfortable doing this.

Directions to Falls River Club, Raleigh, NC


From 440 Beltline……

· Wake Forest Road, North
· Becomes Falls of the Neuse Road
· Follow for several miles…you’ll cross new 540
· Go exactly one mile past 540/construction
· Make a right onto Durant Road (there is a new Kohl’s shopping center here at this corner)
· Follow for approximately ¾ mile to first light.
· Turn left onto Falls River Avenue (into Falls River development)
· Follow for approximately ½ mile to the initial traffic circle. We look like a beige house with a white fence that sits on the other side of the circle.
· You have to go around the circle to turn right into our parking lot.
· 1300 Falls River Avenue
· 848-0776

From Capital Boulevard (from downtown Raleigh)

· Capital Boulevard North (away from town)
· Follow several miles north (pass Millbrook, Gresham Lake Rd, new 540 construction…)
· Follow to the traffic light at Durant Road
· Make a LEFT onto Durant Road (there is a gas station and Hardee’s on the left corner)
· Go approximately 2 miles (pass railroad tracks – slow down – these are harsh! Pass fire station, animal hospital, daycare)
· Turn right at traffic light onto Falls River Avenue.
· Follow for approximately ½ mile to the initial traffic circle. We look like a beige house with a white fence that sits on the other side of the circle.
· You have to go around the circle to turn right into our parking lot.
· 1300 Falls River Avenue
· 848-0776

From Charlotte/Greensboro:

§ 85N/40E
§ Follow 40E towards Raleigh (exit number in the 160’s)
§ Follow to Exit 283, which is 540 Loop North
§ Follow ~14 miles to the end (Exit 14, Falls Of Neuse)
§ Turn LEFT off the exit
§ Go exactly one mile to the Durant Road traffic light (Kohl’s shopping center, ice cream shop, Harris Teeter….)
§ Turn RIGHT here onto Durant
§ Go ~3/4 mile to first traffic light (entrance to Falls River)
§ Turn LEFT onto Falls River Avenue

I wanted to remind everyone to please bring a serving utensil for whatever dish you bring. It would be a little awkward to serve everything with a plastic teaspoon.

An easy contribution for someone would be grated cheddar cheese and sour cream for the chili. It looks like we're going to have at least two different kinds of chili and some cheese and sour cream would go quite nicely.....

I'm going out of town this afternoon so I'll be away from my computer until Saturday! DH had a last minute business trip come up to Wilmington and DS and I are tagging along. It's rather inconvenient timing but that's how these "last minute" things go. But I'll be back before our gathering on Saturday with bells on!

I'm sorry we won't be able to make this one! We have a family commitment in Charlotte on Saturday. We had a blast at the last one, though, and we'll definitely be up for gatherings in the future! Btw, just got back from VWL last week! Our first time there and it was fantastic! Have a great time this Saturday, and we'll see you all next time!

Well things have been turned upside down at our house this afternoon. At 2pm my DW gets a call that we are on schedule for Parents night out this Sat at 6-9 at our church. We werent aware of this because the church posted it but because of sicknesses in our family we havent been to church in almost 3 weeks(we dont like to expose ourselves to others with our colds, especially the kids, heck thats how we got it, we were exposed by 2 kids with colds).
Anyway, we have 1 last source of parents who are signed up for this program and left a message but havent heard back yet. I will keep you informed one way or the other. I really hope these parents can do our time because we were really looking forward to getting together with other folks who have Disney on the brain.
